UPDATE: The Sugbo team got the chance to join the preview day last July 12. Check out some tips and great finds here.

Touted as one of the world’s biggest and most affordable fairs, The Big Bad Wolf’s BIGGEST Book Sale is finally happening in the Queen City of the South, Cebu, on July 13 to 23, 2018 at the IEC Convention Center (IC3) Cebu City – behind Landers Superstore.

For the first time, Cebuano readers will get to experience the sale for 11 full days or 264 hours, which will be open 24 hours a day. The best part is, admission will be FREE.

There will be over 1 million books across all 20,000 titles and across all genres (fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books), so there’s bound to be something for everyone. These are offered at discounts of 60-80%. It’s crazy!

Big Bad Wolf has previously held book sales in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Part of the proceeds will benefit the programs of Gawad Kalinga.

If you’re riding your own vehicle, simply navigate on Waze and search for “IEC Convention Center”. Parking space is available, but limited only.

If you’re commuting, these are your options:
– Ride any jeepney going to Ayala, and walk from there. IC3 is just 10-15 minutes walk. Head to Landers Superstore or navigate via Google Maps or Waze. You will see an intersection road between the former Fiesta Minore and Lander’s Superstore. Walk along that road until you reach the end, then you will arrive at IEC.

– From SM City, just ride a 04L jeepney and drop off across Gate 4 going to IEC.

Meanwhile, here are some of the photos of the books sold last February 2018 in Manila (which may or may not be sold in Cebu).

Beach getaway at Nicolas Island Resort in Caubian Island

1
nicolasislandresort-cebu

There are many beautiful beaches in Cebu, even with a lot of neighboring islands boasting white beaches and majestic sceneries. And there’s this newly opened resort situated in a “private” and relatively uninhabited island in northern Cebu that surely is worth checking out.

Nicolas Island Resort is the newest beach resort in Caubian Island (Daku) that is approximately 40 minutes away from the mainland by boat. Unlike its neighboring island, Caubian Gamay, which has a barangay in it, Caubian Daku is relatively uninhabited and where the powdery beach is found.

It is not the typical beach resort that you are used to staying. You would realize, its seclusion keeps the place perfect for relaxation and comfort. It is ‘A Beauty’ and ‘An Experience’ like no other in Cebu.

Big Q Farm Horseback Riding Adventure in Cebu City

0

The ultimate horseback riding experience in Cebu!

When I researched about Sitio Cantipla out of curiousity after featuring the Strawberry de Cantipla Eco Farm, I found this really interesting place that amazed me. I didn’t know it actually existed in our beloved city.

Big Q Farm Riding Adventure provides a great opportunity to see the beauty of the central cebu mountain range. You will see the mountains up close and discover the rich heritage of the area. This area is known for a wide variety of birds. There may be a surprise or two along the way. Not only will you enjoy the trees and the scenic landscape, river crossing, but you will experience the peacefulness of the land and enjoy a wilderness trail ride on quite mountain ponies.

Their guides know the mountains and trail. They have years of experience with horses. You will enjoy hearing about the mountains, people, and history, and just have an all around great time.

They will show you how to ride in the mountains while staying safe and enjoying the beauty. Each ride starts with a short hands-on-lesson; the proper techniques for checking your horse and tack, getting on and off safely and handling the horse to make your ride safe and enjoyable.

If you ever wanted to go to Sergio’s Strawberry Farm in Dalaguete Southern Cebu but can’t take the long travel of 4-6 hours (roundtrip), you might want to consider this alternative that’s technically just within the city, along the National Transcentral Highway (Busay-Balamban).

Officially opened to the public sometime in April 2018, Strawberry de Cantipla Eco Farm is the newest attraction in Brgy. Tabunan, Cebu City. It’s a relatively small farm, but surely it gives you a treat of strawberry goodness. Because not only you can do strawberry picking (of course you have to pay for them), but the farm also serves strawberry-flavored shakes, pancakes, and burgers (I wonder how this tastes though).
