TAKING THE RIDE OF FRIGHT
The said gimmick is in celebration of the upcoming Halloween season, where Subangdaku, Mandaue City has launched it going with the trend. The once defunct and old North Bus Terminal is now being turned into a horror booth, just in time for Halloween.
The initiative was led by the Sangguniang Kabataan-Subangdaku, Mandaue City. They announced the news on their Facebook page last October 26, 2022.
As shown in their announcement poster, it will be called “The Old North Bus Terminal: The Last Stop to Hell.” The entrance fee is only ₱20 per head.
The horror booth will officially open on October 1 and will end on November 1, 2022. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come, and be sure to bring your friends with you for a more fun experience!

9. To complete the process, you will be attending a free seminar on tax compliance as a business owner.

9. Receive an email for the scheduled pick-up of the Certificate of Registration and buying of BIR Printed Receipts/Invoices or Authority to Print, if applicable.

For those already registered in BIR, upon closure of business, you are required to renounce your TIN Number and submit all receipts issued by BIR. Failure to renounce will be subject to a penalty, and you are required to pay accordingly.

Cebu City Public Information Office recently announced that the long-overdue Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will finally begin in January 2023.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama is said to hasten the project implementation further as he visited Engr. Benedicto Guia Jr., manager of DOTr’s National BRT Program Management Office, for status updates.
DOTr revealed in a courtesy call that the winning bidder is already selected for the civil works of the project’s package 1. Phase 1 will start after the release of the Notice of Award, which is set to be given this week. The contractor must comply with all requirements to “perfect” the contract.
Package 1 will cover the following routes: Cebu South Bus Terminal on N. Bacalso Ave. going to the Cebu Provincial Capitol via Osmena Blvd.
Over the past few years, there has been a further delay of Cebu’s BRT due to multiple factors, such as changes in its design, routes, and road right-of-way (RROW). However, it will immediately proceed since there will no longer be any road widening or property acquisition in this portion of the 2.3-kilometer project.
The mayor instructed his executive secretary, Atty. Collin Rosell, to coordinate with the BRT Project Implementation Office in order to provide support during the eventual rollout.

Finally, Baguio City is now a flight closer to Cebu!

The country’s flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to offer direct flights between Cebu and Baguio City starting on December 16, 2022.
This new route will allow hassle-free travel to the City of Pines from the Queen City of the South, and vice versa, in just two hours.

There’s a very popular spot in northern Cebu that is a proof that not all white sand beaches have to be an expensive experience. The northern town of San Remigio, Cebu is a third class municipality that is known to tourists as the jump-off point to Bantayan Island.
Though there is so much more to San Remigio than just being the gateway to Bantayan. This town boasts of having the longest shoreline in the whole province of Cebu.
Lapyahan sa San Remigio is located in the town proper so it is quite easy to find. The local term “lapyahan” simply translates to “shoreline”. Aside from being the longest shoreline in Cebu, Lapyahan also takes pride in the long stretches of powdery white sand with a perfect sunset view. On top of all these, entrance is free!
Their shoreline is the town’s main attraction and it is in fact the highlight of their annual town fiesta which the locals call “Lapyahan Festival” and is celebrated every 16th of May.
Lapyahan sa San Remigio is a public beach so you get to experience some sunset watching while sitting on white sands or dipping in Lapyahan’s crystal clear waters without draining your budget. The water level is also very shallow on the first few meters of the beach so it’s very safe for children.
There are cottages nearby which you can rent out, but you can also just bring your own mats and lay it down on the sand to save on cottage fees. There’s also no problem with food and beverages because they have the nearby Kan-anan sa Lapyahan where you can buy barbecue, snacks, and drinks. There are also a lot of resorts nearby if you want to stay overnight.
The best time to visit Lapyahan is on the afternoon so you can get to see the sunset. This is one of the best spots in Cebu for such an experience.

There are many resorts and hotels that offer overnight accommodation around Lapyahan. Here are two which are located very close to the shoreline:
Exact location: Poblacion, San Remigio, northern Cebu — 3-4 hours away from the city.
BY BUS: Head on to Cebu North Bus Terminal and hop on a bus for San Remigio. Fare is around P150-P200 pesos and travel time is around 2.5-3 hours. Tell the driver that you’re going to get off at the poblacion or town proper. Upon arrival, you can ride a habal-habal to Lapyahan (fare around P10-P20).
BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Lapyahan sa San Remigio” in northern Cebu. Parking space is available.
