Back then, you could embrace the cold waters in Mangitngit Falls and swim in it. However, the falls had once been closed due to an accident involving death, but now it has been opened to the public once again albeit in a different way.

The falls itself has already opened, but you cannot swim in it or go too near to it. To feel the fresh and cold waters, you can go instead in Middle Earth Cold Springs.

Along with the falls is a cold spring in an establishment called the Middle Earth Mountain Resort. The name of this resort most likely stems from the fictitious land of Middle Earth, the prominent setting of the Lord of the Rings lore and the resort’s name fits it well because Middle Earth is known to be a beautiful and exotic sight to visit.

The waters of the cold spring sip right from the falls itself and the place gives a charming and relaxing vibe as you swim along. Because of this establishment, many people can swim along just fine safely. The falls is located in Carmen so expect to see stars and other heavenly objects litter the night sky.

World War II tank finally dug out in Medellin after 75 years

Seventy-five years after the end of World War II, the remaining half of the WWII US Army M5A1 Stuart tank was finally dug out from the Dagusungan river in Medellin, Cebu.

Stuarts are light tanks used by the U.S. and Allied Forces which proved to be an effective armored vehicle for fighting in jungle environments. According to records, the U.S. Army initially deployed 108 Stuart light tanks to the Philippines in September 1941.

On March 7, 2020, the working force of Cebuanos from Engineer Support Battalion, 53rd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army which were led by Capt. Czar Guitering and Ssg Peter Louie Salvatierra have literally dug out the heavy metal through the wee hours of the morning into midnight.

The 7-day operation was successfully done when the tide was at its lowest with the army’s 50-ton excavator backhoe and with the tireless work of 10 men.

Spearheading this operation is Battalion Commander LTC Ricardo Aycardo as a follow-up operation of the first extraction attempt last December 2018.

Exotic – something out of the ordinary, seemingly unusual, even bizarre but when you say exotic food, Cebuanos have a fair share of exotic dishes.

One of these is a definite must-try– “tuslob buwa”.

Tuslob buwa is a delicious dish made out of pig’s brain, pork liver or pork intestines. To add flavor to this exciting food, you must spice it with other seasonings, oil, onions and soy sauce. It was popularized in Brgy. Pasil and Brgy. Ermita, but currently it has sprung up like mushrooms.

So if you’re a Cebuano or just a curious food junkie, this list is, without question, one for you.

1. TUSLOB BUWA SA PASIL

Pasil is indeed the birth place of tuslob buwa. During the weekdays, students flock the tuslob buwa kiosks and in the weekends, everyone enjoys the food stands in the strip.

More or less, the whole place is filled with delicious and varied array of this exotic dish, many of which are already pre-made waiting for you to dip in the scrumptious bubbles or you can just cook it yourself.

3. FREE TUSLOB BUWA SA PARDO

Apart from the strip in Pasil, tuslob buwa explores its way to the south of the city – in Pardo. Unlike the one’s in Pasil, the distinct flavor of Pardo’s tuslob buwa stands out.

To compare, Pardo’s tuslob buwa is a hybrid of the ones in Pasil since its roots come from Pasil. What’s more to enjoy is that it’s FREE. You’ll only pay for your puso or hanging rice and the rest of tuslob buwa is for you to enjoy.

4. Tuslob Buwa at The Grid

The Grid, a known food park in Talamban, also houses a Tuslob Buwa store that offers the same, distinct taste as the original in Pasil. They also offer other local street food like ngohiong, siomai, ginabot, among others.
