Amuma Mactan, the flagship project of Exacon Landworth completed last December 2020 is not called a “Masterbuild” without grounds.
Taken from the word masterpiece, it denotes being the only one of its kind. Yes this is not replicated units in housing development, this is a single house with a name. And what makes this build more unique is that every space is designed with latest architecture trends making it a contemporary luxury. It’s no wonder why many of its features resemble those of famous celebrities. Check out whose celebrity houses have similarities with our masterbuild.
Vice Ganda
One stark example of Amuma Mactan’s celebrity-like feature is the Main Entrance Pivot Door similar to the door mechanism of Vice Ganda’s industrial-inspired home.
Pivot doors are upscale architectural trends that give pleasing effects to the entrance way. Its hinges are located at its top header and flooring apart from the usual which are on the sides. Designs that utilizes this mechanism is intended to create that first impression by making the main door a noticeable masterpiece. The key to achieve this is by using a high quality floor hinge. Amuma uses Dorma BTS Floor Spring Hinge that can carry a door weight up to 300kg.
Alden Richards
Attached to Amuma’s masterpiece door is the first smart feature in the house – the Yale Smart Lock. This door lock has a similar brand to what Alden Richards has in his house although Amuma uses the top variant Yale YDM7116 Mortise Type Smart Lock. The YDM7116 Smart Lock enabled the main door to be opened in 5 ways – through a mechanical key, a tap card, a pin code, biometrics and lastly, through the smartphone. This lock is controlled by the Central Hub together with other smart devices inside the house.
Maja Salvador
As you enter Amuma, you will be greeted with a high ceiling foyer that features a dazzling chandelier . This foyer concept is similar to Maja Salvador’s Casa Andres but the minimalist version of it. Foyers are welcome areas and are the perfect spot for the best and biggest chandelier. Amuma’s chandelier is a 6-ring, 3-meter pendant lamp by BigLite.
Alice Dixson
Amuma Mactan is intentionally made to have large glass features in doors, windows & balcony railings. This green feature allows sunlight and sea breeze to naturally illuminate and cool the home which is reminiscent of Alice Dixson’s Boracay beach house. The combination of passive lighting and cooling is intended for energy-savings in lighting and air conditioning. Amuma uses uPVC frames on glass doors, 6” louver windows and tempered glass railings.
Piolo Pascual
Contrasting the white walls of Amuma Mactan is its head-turning interior feature – the Monostringer Floating Stairs. The stairs is an expression of contemporary minimalist design and is very similar to Piolo Pascual’s mansion in Batangas. Amuma uses a combination of wide flange stringer and mahogany wood slabs to achieve the design.
Ogie Alcasid
And to complete the stunning and celebrity feel vibe that Amuma Mactan offers is the heart of this home – the swimming pool. Pools are integrated to many celebrity homes like this outdoor pool of Ogie Alcasid however what sets Amuma’s plunge area apart is where it is located and the technology behind it.
It is called the Courtyard Bio Pool. Located at the courtyard of the house and connecting 4 main house spaces – the foyer, living area, dining area and pool deck, this pool offers an extraordinary indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Moreover, it is a smart pool powered by Bionizer Technology which eliminates the regular use of chlorine for sanitation. The Bionizer is an equipment that regularly reads the pH level of the pool water and injects copper ions into the system to achieve the desired settings.
Which among these celebrity-feel features is your favorite? Actually there’s a lot more! Visit Amuma Mactan virtually with our Virtual Reality House Tour at www.exaconland.com/virtual-tours or own this smart luxury home in Mactan by reaching us at [email protected] or through phone at 09227721552.
Wake up to the scent of coffee on the streets being served by The Coffee Mobile.
A work of art and a passion project borne from the mind of the coffee connoisseur, Paul Manzano, The Coffee Mobile was something he started at the height of the pandemic. With the experience that he gained as a former barista, Paul thought of spending his free time during lockdown in making his own brews and sharing it with his neighbors. From there, everything just started to kick off.

SERVING COFFEE ON WHEELS
The Coffee Mobile (TCM) serves a variety of coffee brews to accommodate the different types of coffee drinkers. There are bottled cold brews, or Bottled Elixirs as Anzano calls them, in bold, creamy, rich, and rum-infused variations with high quality local and international coffee beans as the main ingredient.
TCM also serves Pour Overs using a featured “Coffee Bean of the Week” and Espresso Beverages such as Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, and White Choco Latte. Customers may order the Bottled Elixirs by messaging their page or they may catch “the coffee man” himself in action personally brewing their orders.

CATCH THE COFFEE MOBILE
Anzano’s favorite thing about TCM is that there is no set destination. He can go anywhere he wants as he shares the wonder of coffee on the streets and foster connections among and with the people that he meets. TCM posts on their social media pages about their next destination so that people are able to follow them. Sometimes, they even roll out, vintage-style, in an old-school Volkswagen Kombi to mix things up a little.

BIRTH OF THE COFFEE MOBILE
For as long as he can remember, Anzano has always been fascinated with wheeled objects, specifically skateboards and motorcycles. As his love for motorcycles deepened with time, he found his second love, coffee, when he started working as a barista.
It amazed him how, with a simple cup of coffee, people are able to connect with each other. With the time and resources that he had as an adult, he thought of sharing this love to people in the street and combined the two things that he loved the most. Thus, The Coffee Mobile was born.

It’s sad when busy schedules aren’t able to accommodate that long and dreamy vacation that everyone’s been waiting for.
Good thing, 7Es Pilapil Park Resort is situated just an hour away from Cebu City.
This quick getaway resortis nestled by the roadside and near the bridge of Catarman, Liloan. Despite being by the roadside, the actual resort inside is surrounded by luscious plants and trees that provide enough verdancy for a relaxing natural background and gives the space some seclusion, removing any trace of the city from the inside.

The pebbled ground and stone footpaths lead the guests towards the swimming pool shimmering with bright blue colors and rustic rooms made of bamboo and nipa roofs. Both the beach and the pool area are equipped with nipa hut cottages that can accommodate a fair amount of people and they come complete with benches and tables.
Lining the perimeter of the pool are lounge chairs that are perfect for basking under the sun after a refreshing dip in the pool. Otherwise, they can spend their downtime just observing the koi fishes swim in the fish pond at the corner.
If guests prefer fun activities with everybody then they can sing and jive on the videoke machines that are available in the resort. Food won’t be a problem since the owners also installed a convenience store just by the pool but certain drinks come with corkage fees so it would be better to purchase drinks from the store.

Outside the main resort is a public beach that is frequented by locals and travelers alike. The beach area is exposed near the roadside but the shallow water is spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people. During high tides, the waters rise up to the level of the seaside cottages with ankle-deep waters that kids enjoy splashing in.
The nipa hut rooms offer the privacy and security that the guests need and they are extremely relaxing as well. They are all equipped with air conditioning, comfortable beds, and curtain-covered windows. What’s more, the rooms are connected to bamboo porches with benches and tables for the guests to relax in especially in the morning after waking up. Nothing can be more peaceful than spending a minute or two soaking in the morning air while sipping coffee on the porch.

It is evident in Philippine history that this country has been strongly influenced by the Catholic practices of the Spaniards and many historical landmarks and buildings throughout the country show proof of that. Cebu is no exception and it is even home to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, the center of the Sinulog-Santo Niño Festival, or more famously known as the Sinulog Festival.
In the far reaches of Cebu, specifically in Bogo City, lies Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Shrine. The Miraculous Medal is a medal that, when blessed, is believed to have the special protection of the Mother of God. It was first called the “Medal of the Immaculate Concepcion” but is now simply known as “The Miraculous Medal” due to the numerous cures and protection given by the Blessed Virgin Mary to those who wear it.

Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Shrine in Bogo City was built and erected through the desire of the Parishioners of Bogo, Cebu to spread devotion and share their faith to the residents of Bogo. There were obstacles in the establishing of the holy ground but through faith and time, Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Shrine was finished. The building of the shrine three phases with each phase involving the three major parts of the shrine – the shrine itself, the construction of the Chapellate for the Blessed Mary, and the landscaping of Mary’s Hill.
The Shrineis located by the side of the road in Brgy. Lapaz, Bogo City. The shrine is located at the top of a hill and has an overlooking view of Bogo City. From the road below, it takes more than a hundred steps to be able to reach the top and visit the shrine. Refreshing winds and a panoramic view of the verdant sceneries of Bogo City can be witnessed at the top with a vast park of green grass surrounding the shrine in the middle.

Not all resorts need to be fancy to give the guests the best stay. Take for example, Kawayan Marine Resort; an unpretentious oceanside resort dominated with various structures made out of bamboo – or in vernacular, kawayan.
What it lacks in grandiosity and extravagance, it makes up for with its native and extremely rustic vibe. The stunning views of the ocean and relaxing atmosphere created by the bamboo structures and lush greens make it the best tropical destination for both short weekend breaks and long vacations.

One of the highlights of the resort are the abundance of various fauna inhabiting the deep waters near the resort. They allow scuba diving and freediving as long as guests bring their own diving equipment. They used to have a diving shop but unfortunately they transferred their shop to the Mactan branch but this doesn’t make the experience in their underwater sanctuary less exciting as long as you have the equipment. Casual swimmers may still enjoy these sites by snorkeling or they can also avail of the banana boat for dolphin watching.
Most of the activities of the resort are composed of water activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and those that were previously mentioned. As guests dive into the deep blue, they should expect a blue sea glowing with the vibrant colors emanating from the corals and lively schools of fishes.

What’s more exciting is the possibility of encountering the different species of the giant clams of Malabuyoc – an experience that sets it apart from its Mactan counterpart. Other than that, they also have tour packages to explore the different attractions nearby.
Accommodations in the resort are not too fancy but also not too shabby. As expected, the rooms are made of bamboo and are perched on stilts over shallow waters. Only one air conditioned room is available but the refreshing breeze from the sea is enough to cool the night. The resort also offers cooking services for a small fee but guests may bring their own food if they wish.
Guests should take advantage of enjoying meals by the beach while they can. Nothing can be more relaxing than sipping coffee and enjoying the sea breeze while having the flavors of your food elevated by the picturesque views of the ocean.
