Instead of a possibility, we are now sharing your tidbits about this much-awaited festival. The Clark Hot Air Balloon Music, Art and Food Festival is finally heading to Cebu City for the 2022 Cebu Aurora Fest (sans the Hot Air Balloons).
The highly anticipated 2022 Cebu Aurora Fest will feature some of the country’s best OPM artists — Ben & Ben, December Avenue, Zack Tabudlo, Arthur Nery, among others.
It will be held on November 19, 2022 at City di Mare, South Road Properties, Cebu City.
We’ve all heard rave about Asian food, especially the Korean samgyeopsal and Japanese shabu-shabu featured in many restaurants. They sound appealing and mouthwatering; there is no doubt about that.

FIRST CLASS AND FIRST OF ITS OWN
Il Primo is the first and only Italian steakhouse in all of Cebu, which is also the reason behind its name: “the first.” It officially opened on May 8, 2022, at NUSTAR Resort and Casino, serving a new line of dishes in the most authentically Italian way possible.

The restaurant was the first to open in the Integrated Resort in NUSTAR. In addition, it is also the first to welcome the guests of the property, as it is situated right next to the resort’s entrance.
When you enter Il Primo, you’ll be met with the aesthetic blend of cosmopolitan and contemporary interiors, which brings delight to the eyes of any guest that enters. Truly a class of its own among the others.
DELECTABLE DISHES AND CUISINE
Il Primo offers a long line of signature dishes and beverages from Eastern Europe, including freshly-made al dente pasta, pizzas baked over wood fire ovens, and fresh slices of cold cuts. Their menu consists of original and genuine Italian recipes that would delight anyone who wishes to try it out.

The restaurant’s head chef de cuisine, Chef Luca Angioletti, is behind all the sumptuous food they cook and serve. He has worked in many restaurants worldwide for over two decades, but he plans to do more here.
“We want it to be a vibrant and different for the city, an option for curious tastebuds in the market,”
SAYS CHEF LUCA.
As an Italian, he wants his work to take a direction intending to honor his Italian roots through his authentic cooking.
“When they come to Il Primo, I want diners to experience the best Italian food that serves only premium ingredients and using the best grilling methods,”
HE EXPLAINED.

According to reports, Filipino nurses should get ready to take advantage of career opportunities abroad, including in Germany, the United States, and Singapore.

In a report by GMA News, cited by Ruru Global Recruitment Services, a U.S.-based healthcare company was looking to hire 200 medical technologists and 1,000 nurses. Nurses in particular could earn up to US$7,025 (or PHP400,000) per month, not including a US$1,000 (PHP56,760) signing-on bonus.
Recently, newly elected Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared that there was a need for thousands of Filipino nurses in Singapore, among other healthcare positions.
Meanwhile, according to the German Embassy in Manila, Germany is also trying to recruit 600 nurses for its Triple Win program. Professional nurses with at least a year of experience are eligible to apply. As part of the program, candidates will also be able to take advantage of free German language education.

This need for Filipino nurses shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, given that the COVID-19 epidemic forced the government to ban the deployment of medical personnel abroad at the time. As a result, despite the rise in cases, foreign hospitals struggled with a lack of manpower.
Local nurses who believed they had been denied the opportunity for increased pay for their work had previously opposed this decision.
However, the government of the Philippines eventually chose to replace the prohibition with a deployment cap, allowing 7,500 healthcare professionals to travel and operate overseas.
Additionally, the general good response and admirable attitudes of Filipino healthcare professionals throughout the pandemic have so far attracted a lot of praise from other nations that they are now in great demand.

As of December 2021, 316,000 nurses were employed outside of the Philippines, which has historically been a key source of nurses.
According to a recent report from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), while Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and Japan have historically been the top destinations for Filipino nurses, the pandemic has also led to a demand for nurses in places like Hong Kong and Singapore, where in 2021 more than half of the migrant nurses were from the Philippines.
Lapu-Lapu City is in again for new development, as the 400-hectare Mactan North Reclamation and Development Project (MNRDP) is said to push through finally. This is after Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan announced this development on his Facebook page.
Photo from Junard “Ahong” Chan Facebook Page
The project is a joint venture between the Lapu-Lapu City Government and the Salug Valley Enterprises and Development Corp. (SVEDC) Group. The SVEDC Group includes Jan de Nul, Royal Haskoning, Philippine Business Park, FBO Management Network Inc., and other renowned private institutions.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE CEBUANOS?
The development project is expected to house several modern and state-of-the-art businesses that will act as a center for foreign investments in the city. This was revealed by Dr. Noli Arnulfo Igano, President and Chief Executive Officer of SVEDC
Photo from Salug Valley Enterprises Development Corporation – SVEDC
MNRDP, which was also reported to have been agreed by the Lapu-Lapu City Government and SVEDC Group to be rebranded as Mactan Cebu Ocean City (MCOC), is expected to help solve the city’s current issues. Among these issues include traffic congestion, lack of commercial lands, and others.
Igano holds high hopes that the project will be implemented and not be delayed anymore, as it already has the support of the mayor and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA). He adds that the project will surely create many livelihood opportunities, including jobs for the locals.
RUNNING HOT AND COLD
Although the people behind the development are positive about its success, there is still much to work on and wait for.
According to Chan, the project will be implemented anytime soon, but they are waiting for the decision of the Court of Appeals (CA). He added that the pending case before the CA was one of the reasons why the project took long to start.
“Tan-awon nato kay naka pending paman siya sa Court of Appeals. Let’s see kon kanus-a mahuman, mag-agad man ta sa korte kon unsay desisyon paaboton sa nato,”
MAYOR AHONG CHAN
The project was approved on April 27, 2003. Five years later, the PRA and the city government entered into a memorandum of agreement for MNRDP.
The Mactan North Reclamation and Development Project is estimated to cost around P25-30 billion.

A 38-year old Japanese man from Tokyo, Shoni Morimoto, is living (almost) everyone’s dream job. He is paid 10,000 yen ($71) per hour to do nothing. He does nothing, but accompany his clients.
Photo from Kim Kyung-Hoon via Reuters
“Basically, I rent myself out. My job is to be wherever my clients want me to be and to do nothing in particular,”
MORIMOTO TOLD REUTERS.
For the past four years of working as a companion, he had handled roughly 4,000 sessions. This is on top of his nearly a quarter of a million followers on Twitter.
He has been accompanying his clients for four years now, and he even has repeat clients. One of them has hired him 270 times already.
However, his companionship has reservations. He has turned down offers to go to Cambodia, or even move a fridge. He doesn’t take any requests for anything related to sexual nature.
Before becoming a companion, he worked at a publishing company. His colleagues though, have always told him he has always been the man who does nothing.
“I started wondering what would happen if I provided my ability to ‘do nothing’ as a service to clients,”
HE SAID.
Photo from Kim Kyung-Hoon via Reuters
The companionship business is now Morimoto’s sole source of income, with which he supports his wife and child.
“People tend to think that my ‘doing nothing’ is valuable because it is useful (for others) … But it’s fine to really not do anything. People do not have to be useful in any specific way,”
Blood, sweat, and tears: these are what workers and employees make and go through in their everyday hard work. That is why they should be compensated well and paid rightfully for their services.
Photo from Unsplash
But what if you’re the worker, and your client or employer is not paying on-time or rightfully? That can be a big problem, especially if you’ve already invested a lot in your work. If that’s the case, it’s time for you to go to your nearest Small Claims Court and get that payment you deserve.
WHY GO TO A SMALL CLAIMS COURT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
There could be many reasons why you’re going to need to go to a small claims court for such problem. Whether you’re a freelancer, regular employee, or part-time employee, you’re entitled to take such action if:
when the client/company is late in payment
when the client/company refuses to release payment
when the client/company cannot be contacted after services have been completed
When these situations arise, you may proceed with taking such action, given that these conditions are also met:
payment owed is under ₱1,000,000
there is a concrete and tangible agreement that the client will pay you in exchange for your services (such as text, chats, email, etc.)
contracts are not necessary but will undeniably provide more gravity and credibility to the case
Photo from Unsplash
HOW TO FILE A CASE?
Provide that the certain required conditions are met, you may now proceed with filing a case in a small claims court. Here are the steps in doing so:
1. Find your small claims court.
You can do this the small claims court of your residence, of the client’s residence, or of the company’s business location. These courts may also go by the names such as metropolitan trial courts, municipal trial courts, or municipal circuit trial courts.
You may contact them via call or email. After you reach out to them, they will also ask you a few questions to know if your case is appropriate for a small claims court.
Photo from Unsplash
2. Fill out some paperwork.
After the review process, the court will assist you in filling out the necessary papers to pursue your case. They will send the following documents (which may vary depending on the court) either through email or download link:
Form 1 – SCC (Statement of Claim)
Form 1-A – SCC (Additional Plaintiffs Defendants)
Form 1-B – SCC (Information of Plaintiff)
Any evidence that can support your claim (e.g., screenshots of the agreement, screenshot of client’s/company’s failure to pay, screenshot of project)
Affidavit
Remember to always double-check the information when you fill-out these forms. After checking your forms, it’s time to get them notarized in a Notary Public.
Photo from Unsplash
3. Submit your forms.
The court will then ask you to submit the papers and submit them via email. After they check your papers, you will be asked to present yourself in their office, submit the physical copies, and pay the filing fee.
Photo from Unsplash
4. Attend the hearing.
The court will arrange a date for your hearing after a few days. On the day of hearing, bring your affidavit and any evidence to support your claim. Remember to be on time, dress appropriately, and have proper conduct while inside the courtroom.
Photo from Unsplash
ADDITIONAL THINGS TO REMEMBER
In cases like these, you do not need a lawyer; you cannot have a lawyer to represent in the first place. Same goes for your client or company.
Moreover, a small claims case is not a criminal case, but rather a civil case only. It is only meant for different types of payment issues.
