Transaction fees no more for online banking transfers? Now that’s good news.
Most banks use InstaPay and PESONET for online money transfers. Online money transfers usually range from ₱5 to ₱600 for foreign banks.
Photo from Unsplash
Let’s face it, transaction fees can be a pain in the head and wallet. This is also troublesome for people with financial problems because, for them, every centavo counts. However, we might be bidding adieu to online transfer fees such as InstaPay and PESONET.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), made a proposal to remove small-value transaction fees for online bank transfers. The Bankers Association of the Philippines acknowledged BSP’s proposal but has not released any approval.
If the proposal gets approved, it will cover both mobile-to-mobile and QR transactions.
In exchange for free money transfers, BSP proposed to also lower the reservable liabilities that banks need to keep with the central bank.
Because of this, Felipe Medalla, BSP Governor, expressed that they are literally bribing the banks to be open to subsidizing small transactions.
Photo from Unsplash
Bankers Association of the Philippines’ president, Antonio Moncupa Jr. expressed his support to lift bank fees. Moncupa expressed that they are working closely with BSP and stakeholders to ensure efficient and sustainable financial inclusions.
As of date, there are no updates on whether the proposed plans will be set into motion. For now, there is still a fee for online bank transfers.
If you still aren’t familiar with the BSP list of corresponding transfer fees, you may refer to the photos below.

The White Cave is the major attraction here because of its tremendous size (3x the size of the façade of Cebu Cathedral!) Caves 1-3 vary in sizes and attractions. The 2nd cave specifically is home to so many bats so be prepared to see and encounter them in real life.
The passages of the caves are made more exciting with stalagmites and stalactites, as well as wild animals in some.

If you are a fan of Korean BBQ or Samgyupsal, or anything Korean, you must visit this trending Korean Barbecue House restaurant in the south — MIGAG Minglanilla.
Located in Plaza Margarita complex (just along the highway), Migag Minglanilla just soft opened on March 24 and boy I was never wrong. People flocked to the venue (following the new normal protocols ofc) to try this affordable and flavorful experience. For only P299 per person, you can eat as much samgyup, side dishes, and rice to your appetite’s liking.
Yes, you will get unlimited samgyeopsal meat marinated pork and chicken, kimchi, and rice for only P299. If that’s not enough to entice you, wait until you’ll see their wide array of food choices and desserts too. Truly, this is one Korean food haven.

It’s out with the old and in with the new as Nokia finally rebrands.
Nokia announced its plans of changing its brand identity and has now redesigned its logo.
Photo from Nokia Facebook Page
According to Nokia’s President and CEO, Pekka Lundmark, people still associate Nokia with mobile phones even though it now focuses on networks and industrial digitalization. The company’s strategy is divided into three stages: reset, accelerate, and scale.
Nokia is now starting the second stage after completing the reset stage.
New Logo with a Modern Touch
Nokia has now officially launched its new logo after completing the first stage of its rebranding. The logo still consists of the word “NOKIA”, however, it now has an even more modern touch. The blue-colored logo has bid adieu and has now been replaced with a variety of new colors.

Nokia’s website has now also been updated according to the company’s new brand identity.

Good news! Now there’s one more good reason to go to Cebu’s famous beach island destination.
If you don’t feel like the very long hours of bus and boat rides going to Bantayan Island, now you have the option to cut short the travel time and fly with Air Juan. It will resume its Mactan-Bantayan direct flights sometime this March.
Surprisingly, it’s not that expensive considering you can arrive in style in just approximately 20 minutes, compared to the usual 4-5 hours of bus-boat ride.
Photo by Ram MancelitaPhoto by Ram MancelitaBantayan Island AirportBantayan Island Airport
The Difference
A quick comparison on the standard bus-ferry vs flying with Air Juan:
STANDARD BUS-FERRY
Travel time: 4-5 hours in total, from the North Bus Terminal
Fare: P280 one-way (P170 Bus, P110 Ferry)
Availability: Mondays to Sundays, almost every hour
Availability: Mondays AND Thursdays only, check schedule below
The only deal breakers here, as of the moment, are the price (which is still tolerable) and the availability (available twice a week only, no Fridays to Sundays).
