Almost everyone is in home quarantine. This is the best time to do the things you’ve been planning to do “if you only have the time”.
We should make most out of it, may it be a hobby, a skill you’d want to learn, or a start on that workout.
One Cebuano has got it right. Instead of focusing on negativities circulating on social media, he directed that energy into creating something beautiful.

If you have been traumatized, is it enough to traumatize others?
The question arose when a Cebuana transwoman, Jzan Vern Tero, disclosed in a Twitter thread how filmmaker, Sam Morales, caused her trauma by pretending to be Jzan’s lover, Bill Iver Reyes.
In a series of tweets posted on March 30 by Jzan, she shared how she met Bill through a dating app. She posted some screenshots of their convo and made mention how she has been manipulated.
THREAD (cont): at this point he’s already lost his job after being AWOL for a week, moved out from his foster fam’s house to his condo (which he initially bought as an investment daw but he didnt wanna live there alone) and is left with the remaining freelance projs he’s handling
Theirs was a long-distance relationship. Jzan was based in Cebu while Bill was in Manila. However, Bill promised to meet Jzan in her hometown. But the plan didn’t come to fruition due to a family emergency. The claim was then backed up by Bill’s cousin, ‘THE’ Sam Morales.
Jzan was very vocal about Sam helping her work things out with Bill. Same was the one who could patch their relationship when it went rocky.
Emotions, money, time, and effort were invested by Jzan while the real Bill, who knows what he was thinking.
Fortunately for Jzan, tables have turned when she met with her friends in Manila. One of her colleagues recognized her so-called “boyfriend” to be a man named Bilko Argana and not Bill Iver Reyes.
The two then broke-up but patched things again after Bill apologized for lying about his identity.
THREADpt3 (cont) It was a few weeks na hindi ulit ako kumakain. Wala akong gana to do anything napabayaan ko na plates ko. I was a complete mess. Anong ginawa ko to deserve this? I was uneasy. I needed an explanation otherwise im gonna be like this for a while. So I contacted Sam pic.twitter.com/CGtglEQdg3
When the two decided to meet in Manila, Bill asked Jzan if his cousin, Sam, could join them.
Jzan agreed and the three of them met in a hotel. When Sam left the two, Bill confessed that all this time, it was Sam who was texting Jzan.
According to Jzan’s tweets, Sam reached out to her to explain how she ended up fooling our trans friends. She was traumatized herself before. She was allegedly bullied by homosexuals hence, the revenge.
After this story stormed the internet like wildfire, netizens and celebrities rebuke Sam Morales. Many were angered by how Jzan ended up.
Then again, the answer to the question aforementioned is still for you to decide. Sam Morales’ acts were surely despicable, but was it criminal? I will let you decide.
Without Facebook, how do you think can you survive the next weeks in quarantine?
With the nation being placed in an enhanced community quarantine, we could only bank on our social media accounts to pass time. We rant on Twitter about the government’s shortcomings, we stream videos for entertainment on YouTube, we post our throwback photos on Instagram for inspiration, and we check everything about COVID-19 on Facebook.
Because of all the news being circulated on Facebook about COVID-19, netizens have failed to think before they click. They were not able to know what they were reading hence, the improper sharing of FAKE NEWS.
Though the easiest access to all updates about COVID-19 is Facebook, the company is not happy about how Filipinos have been using Facebook. Earlier today, it was announced that Facebook would be banned in the Philippines due to “improper usage”. The amount of fake news Facebook has reported within the span of two weeks alone up surged to 100%.
So, even if Facebook has been our easiest means to access information, Facebook Philippines has been keen on discouraging fake news dissemination hence the banning of the app.
May the need to ban Facebook open our eyes and make us realize the importance of weighing what we are reading. If you have reached this part, you have probably known that today is April 1st. What is this article then? Happy April Fools!
As the number of confirmed cases rises here in Cebu, the number of PUI’s and PUM’s are exponentially increasing too.
With these, lack of quarantine facilities and care areas is now one of the many problems that we are facing right now.
Well, here’s some good news: the International Eucharistic Congress Convention Center Cebu (IC3) will become one of the “first response areas” set up to serve as CoVID-19 care and quarantine facilities.

“The venue that used to hold the teachings on the Eucharist will now become a place of concretizing that bread being broken and shared to those in need in time of this Covid-19 pandemic”

As the whole world is on a race on making the vaccine for the global pandemic, some countries are looking at existing antiviral drugs that could possibly combat COVID-19.
A company in Tokyo Japan for example, Fujifilm Holdings, is now preparing to increase production of Avigan, an antiviral drug developed by Toyama Chemical of Japan.
This is in response to the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressing his support for using Avigan, as a possible treatment for the new coronavirus.
China first considered Avigan as a coronavirus treatment stating that the clinical trials made indicates its effectivity against the virus. They further indicated that there were no obvious side effects but it is not advisable to be used by pregnant women for it can cause serious fetal abnormalities.
“We also plan to launch the clinical trial process required for formal approval [of treatments for novel-coronavirus infection,”
Shinzo Abe, Japanese Prime Minister
World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus Tedros said that the WHO is determined to coordinate among countries to develop various drugs and vaccines for the coronavirus.
Used only to treat new or reemerging influenza viruses, and at the request of the health minister, the anti-flu drug Avigan, has not been in continuous production.

The online community
is singing praises and all about supporting the medical frontliners but then
news of these very people being harassed and discriminated have been popping
out.
“Tayo po ay nakatanggap ng ilang reports na ang ating health care workers ay naha-harass at nagiging biktima ng krimen,”
– Maria Rosario Vergeire, Health Undersecretary
They have been subject to discrimination in
their permanent and temporary residence exactly
because of their nature of work.
“Naay nag megaphone dri nag announce one time. Ingon siya likayi ninyo ang mga taga sotto kay kana sila dli na sila mag disinfect maayo.”
– Medical personnel, VSMMC Cebu City
These health workers who are battling the global pandemic risking their lives and exposing their selves do not deserve this kind of treatment from anyone.
They have families too but are working to save yours. They are already in a lot of stress and anxiety, we should not add to it.
“Sa panahon ng krisis, nananawagan po kami, itigil po natin ang karahasan. Itigil po natin ang diskriminasyon laban sa ating mga health care workers. Bagkus tayo po ay magtulungan para mas mapadali at mas mapalakas pa ang ating laban kontra COVID-19,”

As many of us are
social distancing, we are always on the lookout for new ways to enjoy and spice
up our daily constant.
One global trend that has been making waves on Instagram and Tiktok is the new Dalgona Coffee. Made up of only 3 ingredients on your cupboard, whisk it up and you’re good to go.
Since some of our
favorite coffee shops have come to a temporary close, we could only make our
own version of our favorite, and Dalgona Coffee is defo a perf alternative.
WHERE DID IT COME FROM?
Dalgona Coffee has
a lot of origins. According to research, it has origins from Macau, India, and
Pakistan where it is known as the whipped coffee.
However, it surged
in popularity when it appeared in the TV show Pyunstorang. Actor Jung Il-Woo
went to Macau where he happened to try the drink and named it Dalgona.
HOW DO YOU MAKE IT?
Step 1:
Prepare your ingredients:
2 tablespoons of instant coffee (better if the ‘classic’ one)
2 tablespoons of sugar
500ml fresh milk
with 2tbsp hot water
Step 2:
Whisk the instant coffee, hot water, and sugar together. Usually it would take 400 times or at least 10 minutes of whisking to make it really frothy.
Step 3:
Pour the fresh milk on a glass and top with the frothed coffee.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER WAYS TO MAKE IT?
Apart from coffee, you can also use Milo as the froth. But if you’re going to use Milo, better to use it with whip cream or pasteurized egg.
Also, you can use milk as the whip and have coffee or milo as the base. Be creative.

Since the novel coronavirus (CoVID-19) spread, sad news have circulated the world and its devastating effects to humans are enough to bring us down.
In spite of these, there is still some positive things to focus on. Like the news of the earth healing itself with the halt of human activities. One is, the elephants in Thailand are finally having their much deserved freedom.
Although unemployment is a scary
notion for us at these times, the elephants in Thailand are having the time of
their life with the break.
Elephant attractions in Thailand, one of the country’s famous tourism activities, have this practice of riding elephants. With CoVID-19 affecting tourism, one park director Anchalee Kalampichit has unburdened the elephants under her care of the heavy benches on their backs.
For the first time in 44 years, the
elephants of this park are currently roaming free on the
grounds without having the chairs they carry
everyday.
These domesticated elephants have been fought for by animal activists to be set free and released in the wild. And now, it seems this is starting to come true since Kalampichit plans to shift focus from offering rides and showing trick to educating tourists on elephants.
We all hope that this will be the start of total freedom for the gentle
giants.
