As of today, Cebu City now has a total of 6,142 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 3,233 recoveries and 221 deaths or a fatality rate of 3.60%. Active cases at 2,688.

Since the Cebu has been suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vice-President Leni Robredo has been planning to set-up shuttle services and dormitories in Cebu City.
On Saturday, VP Robredo has said that they have deployed a 4-person team to Cebu. These people were tasked to find ways to address the needs of our medical frontliners.

Free Shuttle Service starts on July 6
As confirmed on a Facebook Post from the VP’s official Page, the shuttle service for the health workers and frontliners will start tomorrow, July 6 (Monday), as part of #BayanihanSugbuanon, the COVID-19 Response Operations in Cebu from the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
The pilot run will have initial three routes, with two trips each for morning and afternoon. Kindly refer to the individual cards for the full schedule for AM, AM reverse, PM, and PM reverse trips.
On July 7, the OVP announced the opening of three dormitories for Cebu frontliners.
Dorm 1 is located at Brgy. Banilad, Cebu City. The nearest hospital is North General Hospital.
Dorm 2 is located in Mandaue City. Hospitals nearest to the establishment include: Chong Hua Hospital (Mandaue), University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMed), and Dr. Ignacio M. Cortes General Hospital.
Dorm 3 is in Talisay City, with Talisay District Hospital as the nearest medical institution.

The controversial anti-terror bill has been signed by President Rodrigo Duterte. This was confirmed by Presidential spokesman Harry Roque in a text message to reporters on Friday.

The anti-terror bill seeks to strengthen the Human Security Act of 2007. This is also to criminalize incitement of terrorism “by means of speeches, proclamations, writings, emblems, banners, or other representations.”
This bill would also allow the suspects to be detained for up to 24 days without charge. Furthermore, the anti-terror bill would empower an anti-terrorism council to designate suspects or groups as suspected terrorists who could be subjected to arrest and surveillance.

How to get there?
Exact location: Kang-irag Langob-Sirao, Cebu City — going uphill on Cebu Transcentral Highway.
BY COMMUTE: From Cebu City, ride any jeepney going to JY Mall in Lahug, Cebu City. From there, ride a habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) going to the foot of Kang-irag Peak. Most of the drivers already know or familiar with the place; otherwise, find a driver who does. Average fare is ₱70 per head per way (minimum of 2 persons).
NOTE: This is not yet the best time to hike and camp especially that Cebu City is still under ECQ. We advise to include this destination in your #KatkatGoals checklist for now and visit once the regulations have been lifted.
