0

If you have come across the infamous Instagram user handle @AntiVaxMomma, I could only hope you have not followed her.

While this handle is mainly about an anti-vaccination conspiracy theorist, wait until you read about how she is making good money because of it.

Jasmine Clifford, a 31-year-old woman from New Jersey has been milking money from people by selling fake COVID-19 vaccination cards on Instagram. She was charged in Manhattan court on Tuesday for allegedly selling these documents to unvaccinated individuals.

Some cities in the United States will be requiring everyone to be vaccinated to be granted entry to restaurants, movie theaters, and other businesses. This, is while most employers would also be requiring their employees to be vaccinated as well. Hence, people resort to just buying fake vaccination cards.

There were fifteen people who were involved in the scheme who were charged, including those who purchased the fake vaccination cards themselves.

Fake vaccination cards were sold at $200 on her Instagram page. Around 250 cards were sold through the platform and were paid using CashApp or Zelle.

3 Significant Hand Greetings in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia is full of beliefs and unique culture that others will never understand. From the way we greet people, the way we eat, and even the way we talk, we have our own traits.

With that being said, we have our own way of greeting people, especially our way of incorporating hand gestures.

Once you are in our region, here are the 3 most common types of hand greeting you will come across with:

1. The casual, Western handshake.

Just like everyone else, we also shake our hands. Sometimes we do firm grips and sometimes, we are just delicate. But more than anything else, this is mostly used in business.

2. The hand-over-heart greeting.

If you have been in a predominantly Muslim country in the Southeast Asian region, you probably have seen this gesture. However, please do not think that this greeting is exclusive to their faith. This is just a sentimental gesture which means that you are accepting the person you just met.

Beyond Southeast Asia, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also uses the hand-over-heart greeting, owing to its apparent superiority over COVID-era elbow bumps.

3. Pressed palms and a bow.

This is when you put your right hand over your heart while lowering your head. This is our way of greeting people to respect, not only the elderly, but also everyone else.

Regardless of one’s way of greeting, we all know that Southeast Asians are warm and very welcoming. There is no need to judge our way of greeting. It just differ per country.

Behold, the Eternals! MCU’s Newest Band of Heroes and What We Know About Them So Far

2

It’s been almost two years since Avengers: Endgame has treated fans as the ultimate MCU film, but things are just starting to pick up as with it starts the Phase Four. One of the most anticipated Phase Four entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the Eternals, a group of Earth’s mightiest protectors.

The upcoming superhero film will be the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was kickstarted in 2008 with the box-office hit, Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr.

Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao, who recently became the second female director to win the Best Director award during the 92nd Academy Award with her movie, Nomadland, which also won the Best Picture that year.

The movie will follow the events in Avengers: Endgame, where half of the population, that was previously wiped out, returns and as a result, the “emergence” commences. With this, the “Eternals”, an immortal alien race created by the Celestials, who have been around the planet for over 7,000 years, come together to protect humanity from their evil counterparts known as the “Deviants”.

Here is the complete list of members of the Eternals that will be featured in the upcoming MCU film:

1. Ajak

Known as the wise and spiritual leader of the Eternals, Ajak has the ability to heal and also serves as the bridge between the Eternals and the Celestials. In the comics, Ajak is a man but this was changed for the MCU adaptation to provide a “mother figure” among the group. She will be played by Salma Hayek, who famously played the biopic, Frida.

2. Thena

An elite warrior among the Eternals, Thena is one of the strongest as she can create any weapons thru cosmic energy such as swords and spears. She is closest to Gilgamesh among other Eternals. Thena will be played by Academy Award-winning actress, Angelina Jolie.

3. Sersi

The most empathetic among all Eternals, Sersi is strongly drawn to the human race and her powers include manipulation of inanimate matter, psionic abilities, and illusion projection. Sersi will be played by English actress, Gemma Chan, who previously portrayed another MCU character in Captain Marvel as Minn-Erva.

4. Ikaris

One of the most powerful of the Eternals, Ikaris powers include flight and projection of cosmic energy through his eyes. He is also the love interest of Sersi, and their relationship will be tested because as opposed to Sersi, Ikaris is more “disconnected”, considering that the Eternals have lived for a very long time. He will be played by the Scottish actor, Richard Madden, who was famous for playing Robb Stark in the fantasy drama series, Game of Thrones.
