Christmas is definitely around the corner, and if you’re planning to go on a road trip on the western coast of Cebu island, you may want to witness the Christmas spectacle at the Toledo City Sports Complex.
Toledo City is one of the progressive cities in the province of Cebu, Visayan Region, the Philippines. It is about 2 hours away from Cebu City and is widely known for its huge mining industry.
Toledo City’s Christmas display was officially lit up last December 1, 2021 with the theme, “Pasko sa Toledo 2021: Toledo to the World Lighting Ceremony.” This year’s theme features famous attractions from cities around the world.
Location: M. A. Barba Sports Complex, Toledo-Barili Rd, Poblacion, Toledo City, Cebu — beside CEBECO, in between Toledo cable and gasoline station.
Mandaue City, the first-class highly urbanized city in the island province of Cebu, takes pride in this year’s holiday celebration and it surely did not disappoint.
“Bahala nag single ka karong pasko… ang importante, naanad na ka! Single or with a date… hayag gihapon ang imong pasko ilabi na nga gipasiga na ang giant christmas tree atubangan sa Mandaue City Hall. Kinsay kuyogon nimong mosuroy sa Mandaue Heritage Plaza para magpapicture sa atong christmas tree?” – Mandaue City PIO in a Facebook post

The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Thursday that all fully vaccinated adults are eligible to receive the COVID-19 booster shots starting on December 3, 2021.
Those who have completed their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines can be inoculated with the following brands regardless of which vaccines are taken in the first two doses.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the booster shots may be administered six months after the second dose.
Last month, the healthcare workers and persons with comorbidities were among the first to benefit from the booster shots.
The National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) will issue operational guidelines on its implementation. The latest move comes amid the threat of the newly identified Omicron variant of the coronavirus which has spread across Europe.

Southern Cebu’s San Fernando Port Project has an estimated cost P336.14 million with fundings coming from the Department of Transportation (DOTr). It will replace the old and already rundown port in the area which will be demolished by the construction company too.
San Fernando Port vessels expected routes:
San Fernando to Tubigon and Jagna ports in Bohol (vice versa)
San Fernando to the municipalities of Mambajao and Mahinog in Camiguin w/ the final stop at harbors in Balingoan and Cagayan de Oro in Misamis Oriental (vice versa)
With the procurement of all needed materials and whatnots already completed, as announced by the Cebu Port Authority (CPA), the CPA is now set to issue a Notice of Award and sign the contract to finally start the groundworks.

Central Spine Roro Route Project
Another part of the project aside from the demolition of the old and construction of the new is the Central Spine Roro Route Project of the DOTr.
This route project will make sure that all Roro (roll on, roll-off) facilities are monitored so that they will be there to cater to trade and tourism needs and maintain inter-island connectivity.
As with every government construction, bids were placed for the project. There were two bidders on the San Fernando port project who were declared eligible in the bid evaluation process but WTG Construction and Development Corporation won with the lowest calculated and responsive bid of P335 million.

Usa Ka Dako Nga ‘Sanaol’!: Trending Cash Gift Ideas That Went Viral
All of us certainly came up with different ideas on how to surprise our loved ones at some point in our lives. Be it through presents, quality time, or simply personal messages, we all have in mind to please our loved ones in our own ways. But the case is quite different for the following, as their means of gifting could literally make people scream ‘sanaol!’. Here are some over the top gifts that went viral on the Internet lately:
1. 1 Million Peso Gift Check and 1 Bottle of Toyo
Weddings are surely intimate ceremonies, and one of the more memorable scenes is the gift-giving portion. Brides and grooms are traditionally gifted by godfathers/godmothers and other visitors but one bride caught the attention of the netizens when she gifted her husband a cash check worth 1 million pesos. The catch though is that the check is dated 2071 – 50 years later on their 50th wedding anniversary. To add more humor to the gimmick, she included one bottle of soy sauce or toyo.

“Naisip ko toyo kasi parang every woman naman parang normal na sa’tin’ yun. At gusto ko sa umpisa palang matanggap na niya ’yung toyo [ko.] Then naglagay ako ng P1 million cheque dated on our 50th wedding anniversary kasi gusto ko iparating sa kanya na ngayon pa lang, I’m looking forward to reaching that date regardless sa P1M,” Eufra Baldemor Ednalino, the bride, explained the reason behind the gift.

2. ‘1.6 Million Peso’-Money Dance
On another wonderful story about weddings, a newly-wed couple received 1.6 million pesos in total during the ‘money dance’ portion of the wedding reception. The couple even donned the cape made up of thousand peso bills as well as sashes made of the same bills. “Basta daw taga Quezon Province galante daw sa Money Dance, Hindi naman ako naniniwala kasi 1.6M lang naman❤️” remarked the uploader of the viral photo, Edward Pascual.

3. 1 Million Money Bouquet
Love is indeed in the air in this list as even though there’s no wedding involved in this item, a young guy surprised his girlfriend with a bouquet – that may seem uncommon but what made it special is that the bouquet is made up of five hundred- and one-thousand-peso bills. Vlogger Von Ordoña surprised his girlfriend Carlyn with a 1-million-peso money bouquet for her birthday and remarked, “Kahit ang isang milyong bulaklak, hindi kayang tumbasan ang pag mamahal ko sayo.
Happiest birthday my love! Ayan na oh pang shopping mo tyaka ni baby. 😅 I love you,”

Ivana did this by preparing ten cheques each worth P100,000 and placed it in a vineyard where her mom had to pick all the cheques and to her surprise it summed up to a million pesos. In their travel vlog video, Ivana revealed that her mother is not really materialistic, but the vlogger insisted on the gift still.

Lou, said on the segment that she really wanted to make her mother an ‘instant millionaire’. She let her mother play a ‘Pera o Bayong’-like game where she let her choose her mother either a P100,000-peso cash or a peak at the ‘surprise’ gift. Aling Lolita, Lou’s mother chose the latter and to her surprise got the ‘gameshow jackpot’-like prize. Lou remarked as well that this really made her mother happy, and also noted about their humble beginnings.
