Transaction fees no more for online banking transfers? Now that’s good news.
Most banks use InstaPay and PESONET for online money transfers. Online money transfers usually range from ₱5 to ₱600 for foreign banks.
Photo from Unsplash
Let’s face it, transaction fees can be a pain in the head and wallet. This is also troublesome for people with financial problems because, for them, every centavo counts. However, we might be bidding adieu to online transfer fees such as InstaPay and PESONET.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), made a proposal to remove small-value transaction fees for online bank transfers. The Bankers Association of the Philippines acknowledged BSP’s proposal but has not released any approval.
If the proposal gets approved, it will cover both mobile-to-mobile and QR transactions.
In exchange for free money transfers, BSP proposed to also lower the reservable liabilities that banks need to keep with the central bank.
Because of this, Felipe Medalla, BSP Governor, expressed that they are literally bribing the banks to be open to subsidizing small transactions.
Photo from Unsplash
Bankers Association of the Philippines’ president, Antonio Moncupa Jr. expressed his support to lift bank fees. Moncupa expressed that they are working closely with BSP and stakeholders to ensure efficient and sustainable financial inclusions.
As of date, there are no updates on whether the proposed plans will be set into motion. For now, there is still a fee for online bank transfers.
If you still aren’t familiar with the BSP list of corresponding transfer fees, you may refer to the photos below.

Good news! Now there’s one more good reason to go to Cebu’s famous beach island destination.
If you don’t feel like the very long hours of bus and boat rides going to Bantayan Island, now you have the option to cut short the travel time and fly with Air Juan. It will resume its Mactan-Bantayan direct flights sometime this March.
Surprisingly, it’s not that expensive considering you can arrive in style in just approximately 20 minutes, compared to the usual 4-5 hours of bus-boat ride.

The Difference
A quick comparison on the standard bus-ferry vs flying with Air Juan:
STANDARD BUS-FERRY
Travel time: 4-5 hours in total, from the North Bus Terminal
Fare: P280 one-way (P170 Bus, P110 Ferry)
Availability: Mondays to Sundays, almost every hour
Availability: Mondays AND Thursdays only, check schedule below
The only deal breakers here, as of the moment, are the price (which is still tolerable) and the availability (available twice a week only, no Fridays to Sundays).

Flaming Counter and Rattan-inspired Reception Area
Two other things you should definitely anticipate are the resort’s flaming counter and Rattan-inspired reception. The flaming counter is designed with red and blue colored lights. Meanwhile, the reception area is designed with rattan and various sizes of “Nigo” or a traditional woven basket used for winnowing rice.
L-shaped Swimming Pool
Don’t forget to take a dip in their L-shaped swimming pool. The pool is long enough for you to have swimming races with your friends or family. Just remember to be careful and swim responsibly.
Sole Mio Resort is still in the process of finishing its set-up to ensure guests an even better tropical experience. The resort is already beautiful up to this point, what more once it is finished? Now that’s something to look forward to.
