Hamster Wheel

Last year, Papakits brought the first inflatable island and waterpark to Cebu – AquaQuattro and now has brought us another first, and the thrill is unlike any other.

We admit we really had no idea what a Hamster Wheel ride is, until we stepped foot on it.

How does it work?

I was very excited and at the same time nervous to be a hamster.  Basically, similar to a Skybike, you have to exert effort to move yourself to the other side of the cable.

You have to tread within the Hamster Wheel to reach the other side. 200-meter ride? Maliit na bagay… pero joke, we take that back! The wind, the shaky cable, not to mention the shaky knees, trust me, you will be thankful.

Some must be more dauntless than most but for us: It was thrilling, tiring and adrenaline-pumping.

Sky Bike over the sea

Did we mention how beautiful the view from up the Hamster wheel, Zipline, and SkyBike is?

When thinking of a getaway, at least one of the options is “pool”. We love pools and swimming and splashes and saltiness?

Papakits Marine & Fishing Lagoon is opening its saltwater pool and we are stunned knowing that it’s one of the first in Cebu and its health benefits compared to a regular pool is shocking.

House of Lechon is one of the places known for having the best-tasting lechon in Cebu. The restaurant is famous for mixing an elegant dining experience with the most delicious and satisfying meal anybody (Filipinos or foreigners) could ask for. The interior is classy without losing that touch of native Filipino.

They also have this distinct and famous “lechon sauce” which is not like the usual dips since this salivating juice comes from the lechon itself. It is the droppings of the meat while being roasted. They have it separated so you can have the choice to dip it or just full out pour the sauce to your lechon meal.

They serve desserts, too. Their Oreo mango float is one of the best tasting dessert I’ve ever had.

How to get there?

• Exact location: Brgy. Gaas, Balamban, Cebu (30-45 min drive from JY square or Marco Polo via the scenic Transcentral highway).

  • PUBLIC: Take a V-hire from the Ayala Center Terminal going to Balamban via Transcentral highway route. Fare is P120 per person (one-way). Inform the driver to drop you off at Adventure Cafe.
  • PRIVATE: Parking space available. Just search for “Adventure Cafe ” in Gaas Balamban via Waze or Google Maps.
