All rooms are beachfront and have wide veranda facing the pools, all rooms are air-conditioned, with flat screen cable TV, hot and cold shower,with complimentary drinking water and portable electric kettle.

How to get there?

Exact location: Barangay Bawo, Sogod, Cebu — approx. 1.5 hours away from the city.

The resort is located just along the highway to the North. So there’s little chance you’ll miss the resort. To be sure, navigate the place via Waze.

If commuting, you can ride a bus from the North Bus Terminal. Look for the one heading to Sogod, and ask the driver to drop you off at North Sky Beach Resort in Sogod — the resort is popular to bus drivers and conductors.

Cebu City Public Library offers Free Japanese Language Class

If you ever wanted to learn the Japanese language (for whatever purpose), this is definitely a great news for you!

Approved by Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmena, the Cebu City Public Library is offering a 180-hours Japanese Language Class, and it’s absolutely FREE!

Here are the steps to avail the free class:

  • Head on to Cebu City Public Library to enroll. See below for how to get there details and Map. Note, there is no online reservations or registrations.
  • Bring 2 copies of 1×1 latest ID photo. Open to 18 years old and above only.
  • Enrollment period is on February 26 to 28, 2019 (8AM to 10PM).

Classes will start on March 2, 2019. It will be held every Saturday and Sunday, from 5PM to 9PM.

Note: After the 180 hours of training, a certificate of attendance will be given.
This training can be very useful for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

Exact location: G/F, Rizal Memorial Library and Museum Bldg, Osmeña Blvd, Lungsod ng Cebu.

  • You can ride any PUJ that will pass through the capitol, 14D, 04H, 17D and many more.

Ilihan Bridge: The Newest Attraction in Toledo City

A new attraction in the west side of Cebu has recently gone viral on social media. But it was unforeseen, unexpected.

In a certain angle, the river under the newly rehabilitated Ilihan Bridge in Toledo City actually looks like a giant outdoor, natural pool. The reason why it became an instant hit on social media. But the bridge was built with a purpose to reduce the traffic problem of the city and was not meant to be a tourist attraction.

As of this writing, access to the river under the bridge is free, so many can swim and enjoy the cool and refreshing fresh water. However, we think this may not last long for security and sustainability purposes.

Due to the large influx of visitors since Monday this week, the Toledo City Tourism recently urged local leaders and personnel of the police station to formulate security plans to hamper possible threat to human security and other related matters.

Planning to visit? Be a Responsible Laagan!

It is not yet advisable to visit the bridge as of this time (Feb-Mar 2019) because it is not yet tourist-ready. People, most especially the residents and those living in nearby towns, have been flocking to this new bridge.

The river has not yet been confirmed also to be safe for swimming, and may affect your health if you insist.

If you are worried about not having a place to workout or run after work or class past 6PM or past midnight, I’ve got some good news to you! The Cebu City Government recently opened Cebu City Sports Center’s Track Oval to 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to the public.

Last April 2018, Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña granted the request of a BPO employee (who commented in one of his Facebook posts) to extend the operation of Cebu City Sports Center’s Track Oval for them to be able to got the chance to use it even after work.

Rates:

  • Regular joggers: ₱15 per entry (+₱5 after 6PM)
  • Student joggers: ₱10 per entry (+₱5 after 6PM)

Exact location: R.R Landon Street, Osmeña Blvd, Cebu City — adjacent to Abellana National Highschool, near Emall & USC Main.

A lot of rehabilitation projects have been set all over the Philippines in the hope of reviving the nature and return its natural beauty.

After the controversial yet successful major clean-up of Boracay and Manila Bay, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 7 leads a simultaneous clean-up activity for river rehabilitation program in different regions of Central Visayas.

This coming February 22, 2019 (Friday), YOU are invited to join the simultaneous river clean-up in ten (10) identified priority rivers in the region — 3 in Cebu. Little step and small progress can make a big impact to everyone.
