To someone who
loves sneakers and milktea, this is definitely a must-have.
Brace yourselves
for Vans’ new collection – Vans Old Skool sneakers in milk tea-inspired
colours. If you’re into nude shades, this has got to be on your list. Take your
pick from “Gentle Cream”, “Hazelnut” and “Smoked Milk
Tea”.
The colors look
chic and the names sound cute. How awesome would it be telling the
saleslady/man, “Uhm. Miss, do you have a size of these ‘Gentle Cream’
vans?”
To the minimalists,
this is something one would love. Plus, these colors are just wearable as the
colors black and white. Did you also know that wearing nude-footwear would make
you taller? If not, then, you really got to score this.
Vans is revealing the simple color palette with a crisp and clean whit sole and a sleek black wrap around. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these babies, but they can wait. I’m doing a home-quarantine and the best thing I could do is pray and spread more good news like this.
“You give a
man a fish, you feed him for a day. You teach a man how to fish, you feed him
for his life.”
True enough, with
Luzon being placed on an Enhanced Community Quarantine, the Baguio Veterinary
Office – Agricultural Services Division (BCVO-ASD) has chosen the latter. They
have repacked different kinds for the different barangays in Baguio so they
could grow their own “survival gardens.”
With the rising positive cases of CoVID-19, going to the wet market for fresh produce could give you quite a scare. But, to have a strong immune system, one needs to be eating vegetables. How to do it? Grow your own lush gardens from these seeds.
The residents of Baguio are quite lucky to have been given the assurance of food security in this time of uncertainty. May everyone do the same. Let’s eat healthy and be healthy.
COVID-19 Cebu
As the threat of the Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19 rises every day, the Cebu province has taken a proactive approach and is pulling all stops in protecting the island. Here’s everything you need to know about COVID-19 and its symptoms: https://sugbo.ph/2020/corona-virus-in-cebu/
With this, an Executive Order was issued for the implementation of the drastic but necessary measures to avoid the spread of the virus. For more information, head on to: https://sugbo.ph/2020/cebu-implements-drastic-measures/
If you are sick and think you have symptoms of COVID-19, seek medical attention, call the local Coronavirus Health Information Line for advice: 0922-397-2334 / 0943-568-3298 / (032) 402-3091 / (032) 402-1269.
When it comes to Cebuano social
media behavior, Cebuanos have proven that humor could really persist even in
serious times. With the threat of Corona Virus and travel bans, Cebuanos have
found a way to lighten up the mood online and have shown the world that amidst
chaos, you can still have ‘pun’ in Cebu.
With a combination of creativity, wit, and sarcasm (nevermind the editing skills), you can count on Cebuanos to put fun in everything. Let’s not forget that these puns were only based on one photo.
Here is a compilation of Cebuano memes that have been spreading on the internet like wildfire.

I cannot stress any further how critical internet connectivity is in this crisis the world is facing today.
More than having an internet at home makes us stay at home, being connected makes us updated on what we should know about the CoVID-19 outbreak and important updates or announcements made by the local government.
With this, Globe has doubled the data allowance of its best-selling prepaid promo, the GoSurf50, to help its subscribers stay connected most especially during this time.
The GoSurf50 now comes with 2GB mobile data (from 1GB) + free 1GB per day for choice of app bundle (GoWATCH & Play, GoSHARE & SHOP or GoLIVE & DISCOVER) + Free 1GB GoWiFi + Unlimited texts to all networks — all these for only ₱50, valid for 3 days.
This promo is valid from March 25 to April 25, 2020.
With the scarcity
of public utility vehicles, going from one place to the other could be the
hardest daily routine, especially for the Cebuano modern heroes
However, Cebu City
Mayor Edgar Labella has a solution to this dilemma – FREE BUS RIDES. Yes, the Cebu
City government will be providing free buses for Cebuanos who would be taking
these routes:
City Hall to Bulacao (via N. Bacalso, P. Del Rosario, Imus, Tejero, and vice-versa)
City Hall to Bulacao (via N. Bacalso, P. Del Rosario, Day-as, Sikatuna, vice-versa)
City Hall to Bulacao (via N. Bacalso, Junquera, Colon, Parian, and vice-versa)
City Hall to Cogon Pardo (via Tagunol Rd., C. Padilla, Colon, Parian, and vice-versa)
City Hall to Guadalupe (via Osmeña Blvd. and vice-versa)
City Hall to Guadalupe (via V. Rama and versa)
City Hall to Inayawan (via N. Bacalso and versa)
You will get the
chance to score the free bus ride of the Cebu City government from 6AM to
10AM and from 5PM to 9PM.
Because we are
currently practicing social distancing, only 25 passengers are allowed to
embark on the bus.
Ride Hero App
If you think that’s the best thing about everything, wait until you download Ride Hero.
Ride Hero, through
their Chief Executive Officer, Michael Cubos and mobile application developer
Brian Muller, joined Mayor Labella in the drive to help the Cebuank commuters.
Once you download
the Ride Hero app, you will be able to trace the location of the bus and their
time of arrival as well as the capacity of the buses.
As of writing, the Cebu City government has already deployed 13 buses. We’re wishing for more buses so we could strengthen the social distancing especially during commute.

The immediate
responses and help from different countries to the Philippines is overwhelming.
Another country has expressed their interest to help our nation with our combat against COVID-19. Singapore, being an Asian country, will be donating 3,000 COVID-19 test kits to the Philippines. In addition to the 3,000 kits, Singapore will also be donating a machine for the detection of the virus.
Singapore is DONATING 3,000 COVID test kits and one PCR machine. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Memoing the President about this right now. I'm a bit tired.
According to
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr., though the arrival of the test
kits and machine are yet to be announced, he is already beyond grateful for
these donations.
He added that he
has yet to send a memo to President Duterte about it. Even before this, China
and South Korea have already donated to the Philippines.
This trying time has made us realize how important it is if we all support one another. May more countries come to help other nations to rise from the ashes.

The world is in utter chaos right now due to the
Coronavirus. Almost everyone is on quarantine in their own homes, and many
businesses and services have already closed.
Even veterinary offices are closing down. Humans have
their hospitals who can treat them when they are sick and down, but what about
the pets? They really have it “ruff”. Thankfully, there is a hero online
offering his services for the poor furbabies in our homes.
Hello guys! I am Dr. Sarmiento, a veterinarian. Recently, I've been receiving a lot of vet inquiries online. Since most of vet clinics are now closed due to community quarantine, I decided to open my twitter and facebook accounts for vet inquiries. The goal is to help you (1/2) pic.twitter.com/gNfr9Vj0HL
Meet Dr. Mann Cyron E. Sarmiento, a noble veterinarian answering his call of helping out the sick to our friends with fur, feathers, and everything in between. He has opened up his Twitter and Facebook accounts to accommodating various “pawrents” who are concerned about their “pupperinos”.
However, do take note that Dr. Sarmiento aims to help people determine whether your concern is an emergency or not. If your pet clearly needs immediate and urgent medical help, do not hesitate to bring it to a vet office that accepts emergency cases.
“This idea stems from the medical community as we also started ‘online inquiries’ for medical concerns. This is to lessen the movement of people and lessen ER consults. Again, the whole purpose is to triage patients,”
– Dr. Sarmiento
Hello. Since I saw a pressing tweet regarding this, I just want to make clarification. Most, if not all vet clinics now in Manila, only accepts emergency cases. The whole online vet consult idea is to triage the concerns of the pet owners – whether it is emergency or https://t.co/9rdDwk1Kfe
The doctor also tweeted
out that in case it isn’t an emergency, his advice only involves wound
cleaning, pet hydration, proper feeding, etc. So, if you have a question about
your furbaby which you are unsure if it would need serious help, send a DM on
his way. He entertains questions until 12 midnight. Remember, stay safe and
keep your pets safe too.
The promised food assistance for the 13,325 Households in Minglanilla has arrived. Rice, canned goods and noodles were purchased from the allocated budget of the LGU.
The food supplies are now stored at the Minglanilla Municipal Sports Complex. They will be prepared and packed, and are expected to be distributed within this week.
Prioritized are the indigents and disadvantaged constituents, who mostly need the provisions.
This
action taken by the LGU is a great help to all the Minglanillahanons and an
inspiration to other municipalities as well.
“For our Food Assistance in the amount of 4.7 Million we have purchased 1,388 sacks of rice, paired with canned goods and noodles, we will be able to give a food assistance pack to 13,325 households with 5kls of rice each.“

We couldn’t be any
happier for the immense blessings we’ve been receiving from foundations and
individuals alike to aid us in this trying time.
The Cebu Korean Association (CKA) donated five ambulance units worth P10 million to the Cebu Provincial Government on March 24, 2020.
These units are
equipped with:
stretchers
spiral fixation device
suction control
vehicle sterilizer
sphygmomanometer
two 10-liter oxygen tanks
emergency treatment bag
defibrillator
nebulizer
blood glucose meter
manual resuscitator
oxygen mask
suction catheter
stethoscope
With the pandemic
we are facing today, these ambulance units will surely help the province
respond and transport patients from the remote areas in the province to the
city.
Photo from Municipality of Cordova Facebook Page
Gov. Gwendolyn
Garcia expressed her gratitude for the donation and her admiration to the South
Korean government for having been able to manage the COVID-19 outbreak.
She also stressed
how the government of Cebu has also battled against the virus.
“I just want to assure the Cebuanos that the government has put in place response measures like travel restrictions and strict border controls, social distancing, mass gatherings, among others,”
Garcia said.
The ambulance units will also be sent to the four provincial hospitals which cater patients from the 12 district hospitals in Cebu.
Though the donation
of these ambulance units were already planned prior to the COVID-19 outbreak,
Bonghwan Cho, president of CKA said that they had to fast-track the donation
because of the crisis. With this, Cho mentioned that the CKA will help Cebu in
the combat against this pandemic.
“The Cebu Korean Association love Cebu and together we will work in fighting this virus and support each other,”

One of the most admirable traits of Filipinos is that we always find ways.
With the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (CoVID-19), a shortage of medical supplies was inevitable especially the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Our frontliners without the necessary protection is like an army sent to battle without armor.
This is why the All-Terrain Medical Relief Operations (AMRO), a non-profit organization here in Cebu, has been working on an improvised Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in their effort to help our medical frontliners amid CoVID-19 crisis.
“With the shortage of supplies coming into Cebu especially the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the group has decided to start creating improvised PPE that would serve as protection for our medical professionals and healthcare frontliners. While we can only do so much, the safety and comfort is of utmost priority given that these will be worn in the front lines for long hours when addressing suspected COVID-19 cases.”
– AMRO
The improvised PPE is composed of:
3-piece body suit
Comes with hood
Face shield (development stage)
Materials used for the face shield:
0.3 plastic, it’s like the plastic cover but thicker (also can use acetate but the pre-cut ones are small)
Anti-slip mat (others have used ordinary foam or thermal insulator as what the DIY guys in YouTube from Palawan have used)
Duct tape and garter
Mighty bond shoe glue
Test fit.
A regular PPE worn by AMROader Julie. We’re running out of these PPEs hence, the idea to create improvised PPEs
Hood fitting and testing for comfort and protection with several revisions.
Sample face shield. The goal is to provide as much coverage as possible on the top, side, and bottom.
All considerations and expertise were taken into account upon creating these PPEs. They have collaborated with master cutters from Cordova, Cebu City medical students, medical doctors, and private individuals to assure the safety and comfort of our medical personnel.

They are now asking for a helping hand.
Donate to protect our medical frontliners.
