Here’s why you should watch the new Thai series ‘2Gether’

It’s the new talk of the town. The series that has touched the hearts of Filipino fans.

Amid the CoVID-19 pandemic, a Thai series has captured the hearts of many Filipino fans. This showcases a comedic style with a romantic twist which suits not only Pinoys, but Asians in general.

2GETHER, which averages 2 million views per episode on YouTube, is based on a novel by JittiRain. This is a series about Boys’ Love. Though not everyone might be accepting with the concept, this has been openly produced in Thailand.

The story revolves around a college freshman, Tine, who is being followed by a gay suitor. To shake his suitor off without directly breaking his heart, Tine’s friends suggest for Tine to ‘fake-date’ Sarawat. Sarawat is their university’s enigmatic and reserved , resident heartthrob. Like any other love stories, their fake relationship blossomed into something more real.

Watch the trailer here:

Though there could be a lot of reasons why you should watch it, I believe that the best reason for you to do so is because IT IS NEW. We need to face our new reality. We need to be more accepting. We need to be more open. We need to know the truth.

For us to be able to achieve the aforementioned, we need to understand them. Understanding them means more than just knowing the reasons why things have to happen, we need to also know why they do it.

Watching this series will make you stop mocking the same-sex relationship. This will make you look at them at a new perspective. Though I don’t want to judge those who wouldn’t, I suggest you do. Just give it a shot. They deserve it. No judgment.

Where to watch ‘2Gether: The Series’?

The series can be watched on YouTube for free. New episodes are uploaded weekly on GMMTV Channel under ‘2Gether’ Playlist.

Watch: OG High School Musical Cast ‘reunited’ amid COVID-19 crisis

“We’re All in This Together!”

The song and its message have resonated globally as an anthem during this pandemic.

Its empowering message of reminding everyone may it be quarantined at home or battling the virus with the frontliners on our side, that we can get through this together, has inspired many dance videos and the song has even gone viral on TikTok.

And what better way to answer this call than with a High School Musical reunion.

Led by the director Kenny Ortega, a Disney Family Singalong that featured the original cast of High School Musical along with various Disney artists performed the song remotely from their homes.

It started with a special introduction from Zac Efron himself (Troy Bolton). Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman led the singing and dancing to the iconic song and was later joined by other Disney stars like The Cheetah Girls (Raven-Symoné), Descendants (Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson), and Zombies (Milo Manheim, Meg Donnelly).

Mandaue City installs swab booths for COVID-19 testing

Mandaue City will soon start using swabbing booths to safely take COVID-19 swab samples from suspected individuals.

The use of the swabbing booths to take swab samples will lessen the exposure of healthcare workers to droplets from people infected with the virus. It will also reduce the need for personal protective equipment, which is on limited stock.

The healthcare worker enters the sealed booth while the patient positions himself infront of the booth where the swabbing will be performed.

The samples taken will then be sent to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for processing.

The swabbing booths will also be disinfected regularly.

The Mandaue City Department of General Services and the City Health Office, through the support of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, worked together to make this project possible.

Cebu City Quarantine Facility at Block 27 NRA opens on April 25

In a bid to effectively cater to individuals found positive of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Cebu City Government is opening its Quarantine Facility located at the Block 27, North Reclamation Area (NRA) this Saturday, April 25, 2020.

Once opened, the facility will become one of the biggest and most sophisticated quarantine facility built and owned by a local government in the country to date.

Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella, together with other City officials, personally inspected the area on Thursday morning, a few days before the start of its operations.

The quarantine facility will have 200 beds, separated in cubicles. The entire building will be equipped with a negative pressure ventilation system which blocks airborne transmission and prevents contaminated air from escaping the facility.

Aside from this, the facility will be fully furnished with the necessary hospital equipment in isolating and treating patients with mild to moderate symptoms of the COVID-19.

Mayor Labella stressed that the contractor of the quarantine facility was required to strictly follow the protocols and standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) in the establishment of this type of facility.

Construction of the quarantine facility started last March 28, just two days after Mayor Labella signed Executive Order No. 064 declaring a State of Enhanced Community Quarantine in Cebu City.

The Cebu City Government has allocated P100 million for its construction. However, the City was able to save around half of the budget allocated for the facility.

This is thanks to several donors and well-meaning individuals from the private sector who have extended their help in the spirit of camaraderie and bayanihan during this pandemic.

LOOK: Prenup shoot over Video Call amid home quarantine

Love knows no boundaries.

The adage applicable amid the CoVID-19 crisis. Because the whole nation has been placed under the enhanced community quarantine, businesses have been greatly affected. Events have been cancelled, businesses have to close and mass gatherings have been discouraged.

I personally know some people who had to cancel their wedding plans due to the quarantine, even their prenuptial shoot. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Alexis Bryan Labing and Bernadette “Pink” Zamora.

Instead of holding back and postponing their plans, they have taken their prenuptial shoot up a notch and shot their photos via video call.

Luminara Photo, a Manila-based destination wedding photography business, was in-charge of the couple’s prenuptial shoot. Not to mention, their shots are amazing.

White-tailed eagles seen flying in England after 240 years

There are still a lot of things we should all be grateful for amid the global pandemic of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

One of this is the sighting of a white-tailed eagle over the North York Moors in England after disappearing for 240 years. White-tailed eagles also known as sea eagles are one of the largest eagle species on Earth.

Hunted to extinction throughout England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, these eagles are now making a triumphant return through the “sea eagle project” which is part of a 5-year strategy managed by the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Forestry England to bring eagles back.

Several eaglets were released onto the cliff sides on the Isle of Wight.

“I have spent much of my life working on the reintroduction of these amazing birds and so watching them take to the skies of the Isle of Wight has been a truly special moment. Establishing a population of white-tailed eagles in the south of England will link and support emerging populations of these birds in the Netherlands, France and Ireland, with the aim of restoring the species to the southern half of Europe. The team is pleased that the project fulfills one of the specific aims of the Government’s 25 year Environment Plan.”
