On April 24, 2020, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan officially announced the extension of the City’s Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to May 18, 2020 or “until further notice”.

Lapu-Lapu City’s ECQ started on March 29, 2020 and is supposed to end this coming Tuesday, April 28. But the mayor decided to extend it, up to May 18 in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s ECQ extension in Luzon and in some parts of the country.

Lapu-Lapu City will spend for the swab testing in the contact tracing of COVID positive cases, and testing of City employees.

For those suspected cases, guidelines of isolation facilities will be announced together with the new Executive Order of the Mayor.

Barangay officials are also allowed to initiate entry and exit points in their areas and that street closures are allowed but must be in coordination with the police.

There are now lockdowns within a 10-meter radius from houses of COVID positive patients. The City will supply food in these lockdown areas.

Netflix to release original series about modern Greek mythology

To someone who has studied Greek mythology, learning about a new adaptation on Netflix excites me more than knowing someone has finished Percy Jackson.

In 2018, Netflix announced that it had ordered KAOS, a 10-episode “darkly comic reimagining of Greek mythology” from creator-writer Charlie Covell, who was also behind Netflix’s ‘The End of the F***ing World’.

He has taken this classic to a high level by exploring themes of gender politics, power and life in the underworld.

‘It’s a 10-hour series for Netflix, and hopefully with a kind of Game of Thrones scale — but tonally it should [feel] End of the World-y, in terms of its humor and its soundtrack and the look of it,’

Covell said.

Kaos will be set in three worlds: the gods, the Earth and the underworld.

While awaiting for its release, I strongly suggest you read the novels written by Homer first. The novels are greatly written and I can assure you a good time.

It was set to start filming by June 2020 with an expected release in 2022, although the production hasn’t released any updates amidst the pandemic.

22-year-old shares how she owned a House & Lot with just P6,000 down payment

Earning money at a young age is great.

It is an empowering feeling. It could be overwhelming. However, like the old adage, with great power comes great responsibility. You could be earning much, but you’re splurging it on the wrong things. Unless you spend it wisely, you’re on the right track.

They say that the world is your oysters, but we all need money to reap the benefits. Hence, we all should learn how to earn and invest in the right things. To achieve our dreams, we have to prioritize it.

Who would’ve thought that someone at 22 would achieve her dreams? Yes, CAMS CRUZ, at 22, already has her own house and lot. Yes, under her name. She feels it is surreal, but that’s reality.

Cams Cruz owns a 44-sqm 2-bedroom house and lot. This came about after their house burnt down in 2016. Thereafter, they had to rent… rent… rent. She said it was too tiring. But because they had no choice, they had to stay. She didn’t want to settle though.

She scavenged for information online. She wanted to have her own abode. She had to do it. She searched high and low for it. At first, it seemed too impossible. It seemed too hard. It was too expensive. But just when she felt like wanting to end it, she’s found The One. She found an affordable townhouse.

Cams Cruz shares how she did it:

1. HOW MUCH DID YOU INVEST?

– P6,000 to reserve the unit. Your P6,000 will be used to secure your slot. You will then be given 45 days for your next down-payment for the installment.

Note, the reservation fee and down payment will always depend on the property and location.

2. HOW MUCH IS YOUR DOWN-PAYMENT?

– P6,288 is payable in 18 months. Unless you have P113,184, you can pay monthly. They have different terms of payment. You can opt for 10 months or 18 months. Either way, both are at 0% interest rate.

Note, the reservation fee and down payment will always depend on the property and location.

3. AFTER 18 MONTHS, WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

– You can move in, but you still need to continue paying the monthly payment under PAG-IBIG. For her case, she’s paying P6,000/month for 25 years.

Total Contract Price: P970, 000

4. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

– You need to have atleast 24 months of contribution with PAG-IBIG. 1 month payslip, a valid ID, and a proof of billing.

5. WHERE IS THIS TOWNHOUSE LOCATED?

– It is located in Bocaue, Bulacan. It is a 20-minute drive to Monumento.

But there are other similar properties sold at the same price (or slight higher/lower). Just keep on searching or talk to a real estate advisor you know.

No one is definitely too young to dream. We are all capable of dreaming. We just have to set our eyes on the prize to reach our goals.

Until now, Hindi padin ako makapaniwala. 😍🤘Would you believe at the age of 22, I already own a 44sqm house & lot (2BR-…

FDA to study Fabunan antiviral drug’s effectiveness as a possible treatment of COVID-19

As the race for developing a vaccine may still take a year, we look at possible treatments to battle this virus.

Every country is doing everything they can to have access to various antiviral drugs or possible treatments. And there sure is a lot of them but we also have to consider the public health and make sure that these antiviral drugs will not cause more harm. One of these is the Fabunan anti-viral injection.

The Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque have urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to study if the Fabunan antiviral injection is safe and effective for use in the treatment of the novel corona virus (COVID-19).

“Sabi ko pag-aralan na nga kung ano iyan at magkaroon na ng pronouncement ang FDA dahil sa panahon na ito, maraming nais maniwala bagama’t kinakailangan ay siyensiya pa rin ang umiral nang malaman natin kung iyan ba ay banta o mabuti sa kalusugan ng ating mga kababayan”

– Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque

FDA has already warned the public against using drugs and vaccines with unproven claims for treatment of COVID-19.

“No applications for product registration have been filed to date. Until such products are proven safe and effective for use in the treatment of COVID-19 they cannot be dispensed to the public nor can therapeutic claims be made,”

– Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

PRODEX B and the Fabunan antiviral Injections remain unregistered and cannot be sold to the public.
