You and up to 14 of your friends can rent out an exclusive floating cottage and set to sea to eat, jive, and vibe on top of the waves. Located in Medellin, Akeish Beach Floating Cottage offers to take you out to the waters as you spend some quality time bonding with friends or family.

The floating cottage itself is simple, yet accommodating.

As a centerpiece, a traditional cottage is built on the deck. The cottage consists of a rectangular table with benches on both long sides and a roof covering the whole sitting area. On one side of the cottage is a barricaded space that allows seawater in; it’s a pool that’s best for children and those who can’t swim. Opposite that side is a functioning toilet and changing room. It might fall short when compared to your usual staycation amenities in resorts, but this is truly all you need to have a good time at sea!

The cottage is perfect for boodle fights, picnics, and even a bit of day drinking. Just be sure to keep safe, especially out in the water! You’re free to make use of the space however you like. You can take a dip while out in the waters, unwind on the deck, take a dip in the seawater pool, but remember to stick close to the cottage at all times.

Guests may bring any kind of food and recreation. As responsible laagans, just make sure to bring easily disposable food and drinks and trash bags. Keep safe and be mindful as well of the cottage when swimming in close proximity.

The host is accommodating is responds to inquiries promptly. For any reservations and bookings, make sure to reach the owner through the contact number.

Located along Mango Avenue in Cebu City, NY Buffalo Brad’s has opened at the most accessible area in the heart of Cebu City. What’s more? They also offer very convenient – its first-ever – drive-thru service.

You can now just drive by with your friends and family for that rush lunch or dinner or even for picnics and get-togethers. Don’t worry for you can never go wrong as they have plenty of flavors that you can choose from. From those sweet and tasty chicken wings to the creamy and classic ones.

Brads Hot Wings Flavors

  • Classic Buffalo
  • Brad’s Gravy
  • Garlic Parmesan
  • Lemon Pepper
  • Honey Garlic
  • Honey Mustard
  • Pesto
  • Hickory
  • Barbecue Lime
  • Sweet Spicy

As a fast-food restaurant that serves a wide variety of delicious flavored chicken wings that every customer can choose from, the unique charm of Brad’s hot wings is in its name itself, the choice of how hot you want to take it.

Yes, the level of hotness as add-ons is quite famous as it has become both a challenge and a dream for those who are very into spicy food.

It is no joke though as the level goes from ‘moderate’ to ‘hot’ to ‘wild’ until the ‘insane’ level which I don’t know how people consume. This only attests though that despite the ‘insane’ level of hotness the chicken wings are still as tasty as it gets.

Ready your stomachs and palette Cebuanos for you can now enjoy the well-loved and trending Brads hot wings in different flavors among other food on their menu just inside the busy city.

DOH to hold 3-day house-to-house Covid vaccination in Cebu

As we move forward and learn to live with the virus, we should still not put our guards down. And vaccination, until we reach herd immunity, is key to finally ending the pandemic.

To achieve this, the Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH-7) will conduct a three-day house-to-house immunization campaign across Cebu province’s towns and component cities, focusing on older residents.

Photo from Unsplash

Apart from the unvaccinated elderly, Dr. Jaime Bernadas, DOH-7 regional director, noted in a press conference on Monday that the enhanced campaign against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) also targets youngsters and individuals with comorbidities.

He stated that some areas remain unvaccinated which prompted the agency to launch the three-day regional vaccination efforts, with an emphasis on Cebu province’s municipalities and component cities, as a “final” effort to eliminate the spread of COVID-19.

Based on DOH’s data, Central Visayas has vaccinated 62.8 percent of the entire eligible population.

Photo from Unsplash

Only Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City have met the required vaccination coverage for both the general population and the A2 category or senior citizens for a locality to transition to an Alert Level 1 status.

Cebu has the lowest vaccination coverage among the Central Visayas provinces, at 40%, compared to 45 percent in Negros Oriental, 50 percent in Bohol, and 88 percent in Siquijor.

Cebu City eyes ’11G Network’ for faster internet in 80 barangays

According to the head of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CCDRRMC), the city government would deploy an “11G” point-to-point microwave network to connect Cebu City Hall’s communication system with its 80 barangays.

A local official said in a statement that the strategy will improve the city government’s ability to communicate with barangays in the case of calamities or emergencies using cutting-edge technology.

This proposal was presented due to the difficulties in connecting with village leaders when Typhoon Odette made devastating landfall in Metro Cebu on December 16, 2021, as a reason for their failure to provide a timely estimate of the degree of damage.

The CCDRRMC presented the concept of adopting the “11G” network, which is even better than 5G, the quickest connectivity available by telecommunication firms, in response to the Cebu City mayor’s mandate to find a solution.

As a result, 5G uses the same radio frequencies as smartphones connected to Wi-Fi networks and satellite communications.

11G will act as a backbone for radio communication and internet access for the 80 barangays, particularly the 22 hinterland villages, as well as the city’s early warning system, using point-to-point microwave technology.

Filipino Food Ranking: Lumpia is the best, Balut as the worst

The results are in and lumpiang shanghai won.

Well, according to an infographic titled Filipino Food, Ranked released by TasteAtlas anyway.

Lumpiang Shanghai | Photo from Tasteatlas
Balut | Photo from Tasteatlas

TasteAtlas is an experiential travel guide that catalogs different dishes from around the world where users can click on a dish and rate it from one to five stars. They also said that they compile reviews from professional food critics and local experts.

And they just highlighted Filipino cuisine through this ranking but as much as we all love lumpia shanghai, for it to be ranked 1st made Filipinos scratch their heads.

Filipino food is known to be rich and tasteful and those dishes should have gained recognition. This is not just a singular opinion apparently for many netizens point it out saying that the list was made by someone who didn’t really immerse themselves in the world of Filipino food.

Filipino Food, Ranked

Filipino food considered in the “best” category:

  • Lumpiang shanghai– 4.9 stars
  • Sinigang- 4.8 stars
  • Tocino- 4.7 stars

Filipino food considered in the “worst” category:

  • Dinuguan- 3.3 stars
  • Balut- 2.6 stars

One of the comments was “Sino pipili ng tocino kesa lechon,” and we all know every Filipino can agree. Tocino is delicious but it can’t beat lechon.

Balut also ranked as the worst is completely subjective as there are countless others who love them.

It can be said that there is no worst Filipino food though but what only makes the food worst is if it’s a badly cooked/made one.
