LOOK! New Surfing Spot in Toledo City

0

Being an archipelago with more than 7,000 islands, it is not a surprise that surfing is considered to be one of the most popular water activities in the Philippines. While Siargao has been dubbed as the ‘Surfing Capital of the Philippines,’ it is not the only place for you to get stoked across the country.

Apart from being famous for the beautiful waterfalls, a local surfer has just discovered Cebu, specifically Toledo, to be a perfect surfing spot too.

Photo by Ang Ging via Archie Tampus

Archie Tampus, a local surfer and sports enthusiast has discovered a perfect spot for surfing in Toledo City. Located across a cove in Barangay Ibo, the spot has been called as the Toledo Local Break (TLB).

In a report from InfoCebu, during the northeastern wind season, waves could be developed, perfect for that ride. When it becomes windy in Tañon Strait, you could also take this opportunity to grab your surfboards and surf your way through these swells.

Now that traveling to Siargao is still a hard feat to achieve, you don’t need to go farther to learn this much-talked sport. Fret not though if you’re still unfamiliar of the sport, TLB local surfers are willing to teach you too.

If you’re one of those who find relaxation from an engaging thrilling adventure, look no further. You can always ride the waves in Toledo City. Make sure you could check off your bucket list this activity.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child live-action: Warner Bros. to make it happen?

Wands up, Potterheads!

Photo from Michelle Grace Hunder via Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Facebook Page

Warner Bros. is rumored to film a live-action adaptation of the play, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”. Sources say that Warner Bros intends to bring the play to the big screen because of its popularity in the West End Theatre.

That’s not all, we might even witness the return of the OG casts who brought our favorite trio to life, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

Photo from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play by Jack Thorne and is based on J.K. Rowling’s original story. It takes place nineteen years after the last events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. The story revolves around Harry Potter, who is now the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic, and his son, Albus Severus Snape.

From Hermione’s “It’s Leviosa, not Leviosar” to Malfoy’s “My Father will hear about this”, we surely are missing the good old days of quidditch and death eaters. Potterheads are definitely ready for more.

What do you think of Warner Bros. plans for the live-action film adaptation? Let us know in the comments!

Subscribers will soon be able to get verified on Facebook and Instagram with Meta Verified

Almost anyone can make a Facebook and Instagram account nowadays. This also puts people at risk of phishing and impersonation accounts which are threats to safety and security. To battle this, Meta seeks to release a new subscription service.

Photo from Unsplash

On his official Facebook page, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted an announcement that Meta Verified will roll out in Australia and New Zealand this week.

Meta Verified is a paid subscription service that will allow users to verify their accounts for $11.99 a month. This new feature will increase authenticity and will protect users against accounts impersonating them.

Photo from Mark Zuckerberg

According to Zuckerberg, users will be able to verify their accounts with a government ID. In addition, they will get a blue badge, get impersonation protection, and direct access to customer support.

For users with verified Facebook and Instagram accounts, no changes will be applied. However, users above 18 are the only ones allowed to get a subscription.

Twitter also made a move of a verification subscription, however, it backfired. Multiple fake accounts emerged and gave advertisers quite a scare. Because of this, Elon Musk, Twitter CEO, suspended the service and relaunched it in December.

realme just released the realme 10 Pro with 108MP ProLight Camera, here’s what we think

Feel like a pro with the realme pro 10 5G!

Thinking of replacing your old phone with a new one? realme’s got your back. The new realme pro 10 5G is officially up for grabs on Lazada and Shopee.

Sugboph got a first look at the new realme model and we took the liberty of reviewing the new phone series so you won’t have to. Here’s what we think of the new realme 10 Pro.

Phone Review

What does the realme 10 pro have to offer? How was the overall experience of using the new model? Let’s break it down.

Form and Design

The first thing that’s noticeable is the phone’s rectangular shape. Unlike the realme 10 Pro+, the 10 Pro’s borders have a matte finish. The phone is fairly light which makes it a great phone to carry around. However, it is a bit difficult to grip because it doesn’t have sloped edges.

Let’s head to the color, the 10 Pro series has 3 available colors namely, Nebula Blue, Hyperspace Gold, and Dark Matter. The color I have is Hyperspace Gold. The back has a beautiful glossy finish and the color absolutely gives the phone a cleaner look.

As the phone’s back is hit with the right amount of light and when you move it around, it looks like there are little rays moving as well.

Displaying New Vision with A Vibrant Display and a 108 MP ProLight Camera

Display and Media

Display-wise, the realme Pro 10’s screen display is definitely high-quality. The images and displays on the phone are good and vibrant. I tested out the screen quality by watching a few videos on youtube, it was clear but could have been sharper.

Meanwhile, the speaker quality is fairly good. The sound quality was not coarse at all. The volume was also good and the audio could be heard loudly and clearly.

Camera

Let’s head to the feature people really want to know- the camera. The realme Pro 10 is equipped with a front and back camera.

Shot on realme 10 Pro 5G 108MP
Shot on realme 10 Pro 5G 108MP
Shot on realme 10 Pro 5G 108MP

The single selfie or front camera is 16MP and features a panorama. It can also produce a video with 1080p@30fps quality. The phone also boasts a 108 MP ProLight main or rear camera which can also produce 1080p@30fps videos.

I took the realme 10 Pro out on a stroll and I got to test out its camera and photo quality.

As you can see, the images are clear and vibrant but of course, there is a need for good lighting.

Shot on realme 10 Pro 5G 108MP

Overall Performance and Charging

In all fairness, the phone’s performance does run smoothly. I tried playing a mobile game just to see how the phone’s processor keeps up with apps that run in the background. After a few minutes of playing, I can still navigate the phone smoothly. There were no lags and glitches.

In terms of battery, advertising claimed that the phone’s battery can charge up to 50% in under 29 minutes. Surprisingly, the phone’s battery lasted me a day after using the phone for browsing, gaming, and watching videos.

Final Verdict on the realme Pro 10

The realme Pro 10 is actually a good phone to have. Not only is it good for entertainment and daily use, but it could also actually make a great work phone. It’s easy to carry around and produces good-quality images which are perfect for people who use their phones to take photos for work, school, or even just for leisure. However, the video quality could be better but overall, the realme 10 Pro is a catch.

Sold? You can buy the new realme 10 Pro on Lazada and Shopee.
