Dalgona Coffee, who? Here’s a new drink for you to try soon!
Beer is definitely a staple during parties, reunions, and even just chilling around the house. A cold case of beer is perfect for any kind of day. Beers have come a long way with many versions, including flavored and non-alcoholic beers.

Now, Germany is taking “Beernovation” to a whole new level. Say goodbye to glass bottles and say hello to powdered beer which you can make at home!
A brewery in Neuzelle, Germany are developing a powdered version of beer. The company aims to help reduce carbon footprints that are caused by the factory production of beer.
During the tasting process of the brewery’s innovation, they expressed that the powdered beer’s flavor is “promising” and that it’s exactly just how a beer should taste. They were even able to achieve the foam of a traditional beer.
Photo from Unsplash
As of writing, the brewery still has not completed the process since they have yet to add the “alcoholic” components.
Will this be the new beer of the future? Would you try powdered beer when it becomes available? Let us know in the comments.
Did you drink water today? If not, this is your sign to chug aqua.
The Philippines is entering “Scorch Trials” because of the insane heat. Summer is coming in hot, literally. Have you been feeling it too?
Photo from Unsplash
Many people have been doing what they can to fight off the heat. Air-conditioning units are on full blast, and refrigerators are filled with all kinds of Ice to the brim.
Iced Coffee and Tea drinks sound perfect for hot days, but did you know you should avoid sodas, coffee, and tea drinks on scorching days? Here’s why.
In an interview on DZMM’s Magandang Gabi Dok, endocrinologist Dr. Celeste Ong-Ramos stated that people exposed to the sun for work should avoid coffee, tea, or soda. According to her, the abovementioned drinks are diuretics.
What are diuretics? Diuretics are food and drinks that cause a person to urinate too much. If there is too much urination on hot days, it can cause dehydration and loss of bodily fluids and electrolytes.
Photo from Unsplash
You should substitute sodas, coffee, and tea drinks with water, fruit juices, and energy/sports drinks. Fruit Juices and sports drinks are rich in electrolytes.
Staying Hydrated helps prevent dehydration and heat stroke
With the summer season comes heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Staying hydrated is the best way to avoid dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
But when does a person suffer from heat stroke? A person may suffer heat stroke when the body reaches a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or three degrees higher than 37 degrees, which is the normal human body temperature. Symptoms include delirium, hallucination, and agitation.
Photo from Unsplash
Suffering from heat stroke can cause the organs to become damaged and shut down. The worst-case scenario is death.
What to do in case someone suffers a heat stroke
If it so happens that someone is experiencing heat stroke, what you should do first is cool them down. Put ice cubes on the person’s armpit and groin area. Then, if the person suffering from heat stroke is conscious, give them water for their body temperature to decrease.

Coffee, tea, and sodas might sound tempting, but prevention is definitely better than cure. So be sure to drink water and stay hydrated.
Holy Week for many Catholic devotees is a time to reflect, pray and bond as a family- from Visita Iglesia, Way of the Cross and all the way to Easter Vigil.
While many fulfill their religious observances in the city, many more prefer to merge both devotion and relaxation altogether and explore new places outside the busy center.
If you ever find your way to western Cebu via the Transcentral Highway to Balamban this Holy Week, you definitely don’t want to miss out on a tour around MagsPeak Mountain Resort & Villas that is now open to the public for free starting Holy Wednesday, April 6, 2023.
One of MagsPeak’s highlights as a destination is the Way of the Cross, where all of 14 stations are spread from the entrance of the property up to the mountain top, spanning an estimated 600 meters walk.
You can also immerse in a spiritual retreat inside the Our Lady of the Pillar Chapel that overlooks the mountains, and meditate quietly by the Pieta in the Meditation Garden.
The mountain estate is designed to create a holistic mountain experience for Cebu with an outdoor, religious and hospitality component, built with sustainability at its core.
Likewise, MagsPeak will be among the starting points of the Camino de Cebu trail via a 42-kilometer route traversing the mountainside of Manunggal, Balamban down to the Municipality of Compostela, Cebu.
The Camino de Cebu is based on the traditional Camino of Spain, which is composed of several trails from Spain, Portugal and France that converge on the City of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain.
By the end of 2024, MagsPeak will accommodate guests looking for a weekend escape with the opening of 12 exclusive mountain villas, 20 hotel rooms, clubhouse, heated infinity pools, and farm-to-table restaurant, making it an ideal destination for individuals and families looking for a place to relax and unwind but with a touch of exclusivity.
MagsPeak Mountain Resort & Villas is a joint venture between MagsPeak Nature Park Inc. and leading Vismin developer Cebu Landmasters.

Do you know what makes a good beach day ten times better? It’s grubbing on delicious grilled seafood and meat after a swim. The taste of smokey and savory grilled goodness is absolutely unbeatable.
Sinugba by the beach is heaven for foodies. But, what if we tell you that there is a fantastic resto and grill in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, that does exactly that?
Make your way to Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, and indulge in good food and music at Igbaw Resto Grill— it’s more than just your ordinary grilling place.
Elevated Dining Experience in the Heart of Santa Fe
Igbaw Resto and Grill is nestled in the heart of Santa Fe, Bantayan Island. It is even just a few strides away from a beautiful public beach.
Igbaw’s overall design is a sight to behold because of its Mediterranean vibe. The place has a good contrast of black and white, which gives off a modern feel. The resto also has what they call “The towers.” The towers are elevated areas in the food place where customers can dine while enjoying the view of the beach and neighboring islets
The resto also sports an open-air concept where diners can feel the cool sea breeze. There are plenty of seats and tables that can accommodate many customers.
Quality Entertainment with State-of-the-art Equipments
Before we head to the food, let’s talk about Igbaw’s quality entertainment in the form of a live band. What sets Igbaw apart from the others is the resto’s band and music choices. From Jazz to modern songs, Igbaw resto and Grill offers a new entertainment experience to diners.
The resto invites different bands from Cebu to play every Friday and Saturday. Not only that, but they also use high-quality equipment that brings justice to the band’s impressive performances.
“People come for the food, but they stay for the band,” the owner expressed as he proudly talked about the quality entertainment Igbaw offers.
Mouth-watering Seafood and Meat Platter, Pochero, and More
And now on to the stars of the show, the mouthwatering foods at Igbaw Grill and Resto.
To describe the food at Igbaw, the word “delicious” is an understatement. They offer an array of food choices, from grilled to soup dishes. We had the chance to try their mouth-watering dishes; here are the best-sellers we’ve tried:
Sizzling Gambas
The sizzling Gambas at Igbaw is lathered in with a sweet and salty sauce. The shrimps were plump and juicy. They bring out a sizzling plate and put the gambas on top. The sound of sizzling was enough to make us want to dig in immediately.
Pochero
The Pochero at Igbaw is one of the highlights of the resto and grill. People from Bantayan literally put effort into going to Igbaw just for the Pochero. The soup was warm and flavorful, and the meat was tender. It was perfect for combating the cold sea breeze.
Boneless Bangus
The boneless bangus was our favorite. It was packed with flavor, and the fish itself was soft; it’s almost like it melted in your mouth. It was fresh and perfect with a spicy soy sauce-calamansi dip.
Seafood and Meat Platter
The affordable seafood and meat platter is already good for six people. It has crabs, scallops, shrimp, stuffed squid, pork belly, chorizo de Cebu, grilled boneless bangus, and a platter of fried rice.
Baked Scallops
Who does not love baked scallops? The scallops at Igbaw were fresh and baked to garlicky and buttery perfection.
Crabs
And lastly, the crabs. Like the Gambas, the crabs drowned in a sweet, salty, and savory sauce. The crab meat sucked in all the flavor from the sauce, and it was heaven in every bite. Do you want a tip? Scoop out all the crab meat, get a bit of sauce, and mix it with the fried rice. Try it out; you’ll thank us later.
Breakfast with a View
The resto also offers breakfast from 6 AM to 10 AM. Breakfast is a must-try at Igbaw, especially when you are given a view of the beach. They offer different local breakfast meals that you will surely love. We got to try their bacon and egg, pusit, and the Cebuano favorite called Danggit. If you love hot drinks in the morning, they also have coffee and hot chocolate to pair with your breakfast.
Igbaw ensures that all their ingredients, especially seafood, are delivered fresh daily.
Margaritas, beers, and more at Igbaw Resto and Grill
What’s even better to pair with grilled food? Beer. Igbaw also offers local beers to customers. That’s not all. They also have margaritas and cocktails available. The resto has a minibar where you can choose your favorite drinks.
A Comfortable and Homey Stay Below at Casa Blanca
Igbaw is located on the roof deck of Casa Blanca. Casa Blanca has available rooms and different services for guests who plan to stay overnight, like a massage. The rooms are clean and homey with their white interior. Each room is equipped with a bed, a TV with cable, and a private bathroom.
If you find yourself in Santa Fe, head over to Igbaw and elevate your dining experience. Grilled food and bands? Count us in! Get ready to fall in love with the island life at Igbaw Resto and Grill.

Some people dream of working for big companies, while others dream of COMPETING with big companies.
Photo from Shou Chew
If you are one of the people who gave in to temptations during the pandemic, you might now have one of the biggest video-sharing platforms in the world— TikTok.
TikTok is owned and led by Shou Zi Chew. He hails proudly from Singapore and graduated from the University College London. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2006. However, after graduating, he did not stop there. He then had his Master of Business Administration at Harvard.
Here’s the interesting part: before becoming the president of one of the most popular apps, he interned at the biggest website in 2009. Can you guess? Facebook. Yes, Shou Zi Chew used to be an intern at Facebook.
Photo from Unsplash
Who knew that a person who used to be an intern for one of the tech giants would become its fiercest competitor? And Facebook was definitely fazed by TikTok’s growing success. Facebook reportedly changed its algorithms to keep up with Tiktok.
According to Chew, he tried to learn from companies that started before TikTok and all the other new-generation applications and websites.
With TikTok’s success and popularity, officials from the United States believed that the app could cause a big security breach.
“The potential security, privacy, and content manipulation concerns raised about Tiktok are really not unique to us. The same issue apply to other companies”.
CHEW STATED. HE ALSO URGED FOR TRANSPARENT RULES THAT APPLY TO ALL TECH COMPANIES.
Photo from Unsplash
With hard work, determination, and constant learning, we can unlock our true potential. That is what Shou Zi Chew did. He learned from the biggest tech companies and applied it to his own. Let this be an inspiration for all aspiring CEOs or company owners. Dream Big and make it real.

The whole place is decorated with white and blue, from accents, details, up to the walls. The white and blue exterior and interior are very inviting. Issa’s Haven also prides itself with its pools. What’s unique about Issa’s Haven is that it has a pool within the pool.
