Many Filipinos are getting into Korean dining and this is quite evident in Cebu’s vibrant dining scene with so many Korean restaurants popping up. While most we know offer grill-all-you-can services, there are also some that offer authentic Korean dishes — but most of them are a bit expensive. Sure it’s worth the money, but there are ordinary days when we just want to satisfy our cravings and love for Korean food.
Lo and behold! We found a Korean food shop that has been sitting in the corner for quite some time now, the Koreanderia Cupbop that offers one of the most affordable Korean food in the metro. And the taste will surely not fail you!

Things are getting more interesting in Cebu. With the seaplane service launched recently to shorten travel trips to Bantayan or Camotes, there’s another mode of transportation to look forward to. This new Sea Transport Service called the WaterBus will soon operate in the Queen City of the South.

It offers boat rides from Cebu City to neighboring cities or towns including Talisay City to Minglanilla and Naga City, Dalaguete, Oslob and Santander. Then routes going North bound include Liloan, Danao City, Bogo City, among others.
Each WaterBus can accommodate 50-70 people onboard per trip with an estimated fare ranging from ₱150 to ₱180 per person.
The 1st unit of the Cebu WaterBus is said to start sailing by July 2018 August 2018, with routes going to/from South.

We, Cebuanos, are well known for having a good appetite. When it comes to good food or diner, there’s really no saying “no” to it. Eat-all-you-can’s, buffets, boodle fights — name it, we got it.
It is inevitably true that when it comes to diners, there are really lots we can choose from. However, when it comes to finding good restaurants with amazing view or scenery, it’s not really that easy to find.
Good food and good view don’t always come together. Checking out for places to go on that romantic night out? Or maybe a nice view to enjoy with your barkada? We got you. Sit back as Sugbo saves the day with this list of restaurants with amazing views that will definitely blow your mind.

If you are itching to hit the beach that is just accessible from Metro Cebu while not worrying about the cleanliness and safety of the place, the Mactan Newtown Beach is the perfect choice for you. Formerly Portofino Beach Resort, there’s not much noticeable changes here despite the new management under Megaworld Corporation. But what we loved about Portofino can still be seen here — colorful cottages and clean beach.
Exact location: Mactan Newtown Beach, Lapu-Lapu City — approx. 45 mins to 1 hour from Cebu City.
Bringing your own vehicle is recommended. There’s an ample parking space available.
The easiest way to commute is to ride a taxi/Grab/Uber. If you’re from Cebu City, the payment will be around 150 to 200 pesos only (good for 4pax). But if you want to ride a jeepney, look for jeepneys that are headed to Soong from Parkmall or Hi-way Mandaue. Then tell the driver to drop you at Barangay Angasil going to Mactan Newtown Beach. From there, hire a motorycle (habal-habal) to bring you to the resort.
End your busy week with a busy stomach. Let’s make our Fridays a full and satisfying one at TGI Friday’s.
TGIF is an American restobar where you can enjoy the mouthwatering American-style food and drink. Made by their talented bartenders and crew at their lively bar, this newly opened second branch at Robinsons Galleria Cebu offers a new vibe to it — new interior design and a bigger space for a more unforgettable dining experience.
TGI Friday’s has also released their newest menu that will surely indulge all your cravings.
Crispy Jackfruit Salad
Mangoes in salad? Sounds good to me, but have you heard of Salad with Jackfruit? Interesting, right? Experience their newest healthy Crispy Jackfruit Salad, an explosion of flavors where you can taste the sourness of the greens with the dressings, peanuts and a perfect contrast of the sweetness of their exotic Jackfruit — a fusion of American and Filipino Cuisine.
Black Calamari
If you’re into exotic cuisines, enjoy their newest Black Calamari. It has a black squid ink and a crispy golden calamari. It is unique and tasty with the perfect combination of the flavor of the squid’s black ink and calamari.
Arugula and Tomato Cream Pasta
Festival colors create festival flavors. Enjoy the creamy goodness of their newest Arugula and Tomato Cream Pasta, the tanginess of the fresh tomatoes and the creaminess of the tomato sauce top with healthy arugula that balances everything.
Three Meat Platter
Meat-lovers will enjoy this mouthwatering Three Meat Platter. It has the perfect grilled Chicken, Pork and sumptuous Filipino Pork Adobo. Yep, that’s why they call it the “Triple Threat”.
Chili Ball Park Nachos
Homerun! These Chili Ball Park Nachos is a hit! It’s a tower of nachos and ground pork drizzled with white sauce that’s very savory; and with the spicy red sauce with tomato and onion bits, it’s A SCORE!
Brownie Fudge
Have some desserts and indulge in the sweet and creamy brownies top with ice cream covered with almonds and showered with caramel sauce. The brownies are baked to perfection.
Jack Daniel Baby Back Ribs
And the winner of them all is the famous Jack Daniel Baby Back Ribs — grilled to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside, and no need for you to dip in a sauce. It has side dishes of shrimps, fries and coleslaw. This is a must-try, especially if you are a first-timer at TGIF.

Republika ng TM successfully staged a jamming session with the Cebuanos and leading Filipino rock band, Parokya ni Edgar on the last night of the Sinulog festival last January 21, 2018 held at the Plaza Independencia, Cebu City.
Iconic Bisrock (Bisayang Rock) bands started the jamming session and games happened in between performances. Fourwheel Drive, Scrambled Eggs, Missing Filemon, and Aggresive Audio were among the Bisrock bands who entertained the hyped Cebuanos with their iconic songs. Truly, it felt nostalgic for every individual who grew up listening to Bisrock and OPM just like yours truly.
Though the crowd was already singing the bisrocks, we truly cannot deny the fact that they long waited for the act of the night – Parokya ni Edgar.
Parokya ni Edgar opened their show with “Your Song” then followed my all-time favorite “Para Sa’yo”. Though they were only supposed to sing 5 songs, Chito wanted to make sure that the crowd waiting for 5 hours wouldn’t be put to waste; hence, we all had a superb night with Parokya ni Edgar’s 1 set!
Though the jamming session had obstacles along the way, it was truly one living example that Cebuanos and OPM fans alike who went to the venue for the jamming session are responsible people at all.
Parokya ni Edgar, thank you for your great music. It’s been decades that you have been showering our ears with great music. Continue becoming the Filipinos’ leading rock band because as long as band like yours exists, OPM IS NOT DEAD.
