0
1romanticrestaurants

We, Cebuanos, are well known for having a good appetite. When it comes to good food or diner, there’s really no saying “no” to it. Eat-all-you-can’s, buffets, boodle fights — name it, we got it.

It is inevitably true that when it comes to diners, there are really lots we can choose from. However, when it comes to finding good restaurants with amazing view or scenery, it’s not really that easy to find.

Good food and good view don’t always come together. Checking out for places to go on that romantic night out? Or maybe a nice view to enjoy with your barkada? We got you. Sit back as Sugbo saves the day with this list of restaurants with amazing views that will definitely blow your mind.

The NEW Mactan Newtown Beach (formerly Portofino)

13
mactannewtownbeach

If you are itching to hit the beach that is just accessible from Metro Cebu while not worrying about the cleanliness and safety of the place, the Mactan Newtown Beach is the perfect choice for you. Formerly Portofino Beach Resort, there’s not much noticeable changes here despite the new management under Megaworld Corporation. But what we loved about Portofino can still be seen here — colorful cottages and clean beach.

How to get there?

Exact location: Mactan Newtown Beach, Lapu-Lapu City — approx. 45 mins to 1 hour from Cebu City.

Bringing your own vehicle is recommended. There’s an ample parking space available.

The easiest way to commute is to ride a taxi/Grab/Uber. If you’re from Cebu City, the payment will be around 150 to 200 pesos only (good for 4pax). But if you want to ride a jeepney, look for jeepneys that are headed to Soong from Parkmall or Hi-way Mandaue. Then tell the driver to drop you at Barangay Angasil going to Mactan Newtown Beach. From there, hire a motorycle (habal-habal) to bring you to the resort.

Parokya ni Edgar rocks Cebu Sinulog 2018

parokya-ni-edgar-sinulog-2018

Republika ng TM successfully staged a jamming session with the Cebuanos and leading Filipino rock band, Parokya ni Edgar on the last night of the Sinulog festival last January 21, 2018 held at the Plaza Independencia, Cebu City.

Iconic Bisrock (Bisayang Rock) bands started the jamming session and games happened in between performances. Fourwheel Drive, Scrambled Eggs, Missing Filemon, and Aggresive Audio were among the Bisrock bands who entertained the hyped Cebuanos with their iconic songs. Truly, it felt nostalgic for every individual who grew up listening to Bisrock and OPM just like yours truly.

Though the crowd was already singing the bisrocks, we truly cannot deny the fact that they long waited for the act of the night – Parokya ni Edgar.

Parokya ni Edgar opened their show with “Your Song” then followed my all-time favorite “Para Sa’yo”. Though they were only supposed to sing 5 songs, Chito wanted to make sure that the crowd waiting for 5 hours wouldn’t be put to waste; hence, we all had a superb night with Parokya ni Edgar’s 1 set!

Though the jamming session had obstacles along the way, it was truly one living example that Cebuanos and OPM fans alike who went to the venue for the jamming session are responsible people at all.

Parokya ni Edgar, thank you for your great music. It’s been decades that you have been showering our ears with great music. Continue becoming the Filipinos’ leading rock band because as long as band like yours exists, OPM IS NOT DEAD.

Terra Manna Camping & Beach Resort in Lambug, Badian

1
terramannaresort-badiancebu

The idea of camping and disconnecting from the comforts of home always gives us a different kind of excitement, especially to outdoor enthusiasts like myself. There are days we fancy about a glamorous staycation. But what happens when glamour and camping meet? It would be awesomely called “glamping” where stunning nature meets modern luxury.

Glamping, a fusion of glamour and camping, is starting to make its name in Cebu. Just recently, we came across this resort in Lambug, Badian, Cebu — near the famous Kawasan Falls/Canyoneering and Basdaku/Lambug white beach. This is the Terra Manna Camping & Beach Resort.

You have probably come across this on your feed, or heard of it from your friends or elsewhere. It’s actually the talk of the town — particularly famous for being unusually existent in the province of Cebu. It seems out of this world yet many are eager to experience this astonishing wonder — the Bacalla Woods Campsite in San Fernando, Southern Cebu.

The Bacalla Woods Campsite identifies itself as the home of the artists, environmentalists, explorers, extreme sports athletes, campers, and all nature enthusiasts. It’s said to be the place where you can find real happiness.

These are some of the things you can do:

  • Camping / Staying overnight with nature (tent, hammock, or room)
  • Infinity swing
  • River trekking to 7 falls
  • Waterfall chasing
  • Mountain biking
  • Mountain Trekking
  • Skate boarding
  • Turn strangers to friends / Jamming over bonfire
  • Dine with nature
  • Meditate under sunrise

WORTH NOTING:

– There’s no cellular signal (nor a Wifi) in the area. Unplugging is real, guys!
– Bring a mosquito repellent if you plan to go overnight.
– If you’re going there without booking, make sure to bring your own food and drinks. You can also cook in the area, just bring your own cooking ware and ingredients. But I suggest you book ahead to be sure.
– Be responsible of your own trash. Be responsible at all times.
