Manding Beach Resort is an accommodating and accessible resort in thriving Bogo City. Like the city, the resort is a charming combination of natural beauty and human development. The premises are lined with lush and verdant trees that provide shade over the resort facilities.

Their main amenity is a clean and safe seawater pool inside a patch of flourishing mangrove trees. The pool is connected to the sea but is fenced by a concrete boundary, creating a safe space for swimming where you don’t have to worry about urchins or sharp rocks. That alone is a big plus for any beach!

Air-conditioned rooms can also be rented for both day use and overnight. The rooms are modest, but come with their own toilet and bath for your privacy and comfort.

Chesanyama Café: Adventure and Farm-to-table dining in Brgy. Adlaon, Cebu

If we’re talking about food, nothing beaths fresh! When fresh ingredients are used, the food is flavorful, rich, and aromatic. That’s exactly the kind of food Chesanyama café serves!

Chesanyama café is an ecotourism farm café lodged on the hills of Adlaon, Cebu City. They cook up mouthwatering meals made with farm-fresh ingredients that guests can enjoy along with a splendid view of Mt. Manunggal and Mactan Island.

The café serves a scrumptious selection of meals, snacks, drinks, and desserts all for a reasonable price. You should definitely try their crowd-favorites such as tomato-pesto-mozzarella, focaccia cestini, and their special lasagna all prepared upon order and with ingredients from their very own farm.

You can also enjoy local delicacies like biko and budbud. Guests often get an order of sikwate and puto maya combo, which really hits different up on the mountain café!

“Chesanyama” is derived from the Zulu slang Shisa nyama, meaning ‘burnt meat’ or braai, barbecue in South Africa. This expression is also used to describe a popular ‘buy-and-braai’ venue style in South Africa, where people choose their meat and have it grilled to preference. In Japanese, Shisan means ‘local production’ while Yama means ‘mountain’. Both contexts inspire Chesanyama’s concept of farm-to-table dining in a mountain-life experience.

Whether you’re going up for a relaxing day or a day of outdoor activities, Chesanyama is ready to accommodate you. Have we mentioned that the café employs a faithful Cane Corso? The darling of a dog, Athena, welcomes guests and makes sure everyone gets cozy and comfortable in the café.

Cebuano singer is the first Filipino to collab with int’l duo Music Travel Love

“Get outside, you never know where you’ll find yourself.”– Bob+Clint

Remember our all-time favorite and go-to karaoke song “If life is so short” and “Miss you like crazy” by The Moffatts? Well, the brothers Bob and Clint are back and making waves in the music industry as MTL (Music Travel Love). A project where they film a series of traveling studio videos of both covers and their own originals at beautiful locations around the world.

Photo from Music Travel Love

Staying true to their passion which is love for music, travel and family, they would bring their studio in a few small backpacks and start recording their magic which is music being played together with nature.

Alas travel is still hard for the whole world but this didn’t stop them as they are now collaborating with talented artists to create these amazing videos.

One of these talented singers that is currently trending is Cebuano artist, Francis Greg from Danao City, Cebu. He’s an artist of Ivory Music & Video and the male vocals of Stereotype.

Photo from Music Travel Love
Photo from Music Travel Love

The Music Travel Love duo messaged Francis Greg on Instagram when they saw and loved his cover of It Will Rain by Bruno Mars, and that’s when everything started.

Francis Greg is super happy as he grew up listening to Mofatts’ music, and now he’s singing with the members. MTL has been so patient and helpful to Francis throughout the whole collaboration, and he also learned a lot especially regarding on how to up his game in YT and his musical career.

This fresh voice has his own Youtube channel with 237k subscribers and 1.3M followers on Tiktok which says a lot on how much people are captivated by his singing.

Together with Bob and Clint, they sang a cover of the song I want it that way by the Backstreet Boys in two beautiful natural locations. Their beautiful voices have matched perfectly well together and with the modern technology we have, you might even believe they are recording on the same location.

Photo from Music Travel Love
Photo from Music Travel Love

Speaking of amazing natural locations, Cebu has plenty of them so I’m guessing it wasn’t that hard to find one to record. The Youtube video was uploaded last August 11 and made it to #5 on trending for music on its 5th day and now has 3.2M views as of August 20.

Due to the global pandemic, they could not film in one setting so MTL’s part was filmed at Colorado while Francis’ part was filmed at Danasan Falls in Danao City.

The video and music were shared across all of their rapidly growing social media platforms and YouTube. The song is also available on all streaming services so if you want to add that to your playlist then you can definitely do so.

Music Travel Love have hinted on the collab last June having posted a video of Francis Greg singing “It will rain” by Bruno Mars in their Facebook page with the caption We became fans of @Francis Greg a little while back when this video came out! What do y’all think about a collab?? Like and comment below to let us know”

Check out this cool song cover on Youtube and support our local artist Francis Greg.

Dos and Don’ts Before, During and After COVID-19 Vaccination

Vaccines are rolling out in every part of the country and with the threat of the different variants of covid-19, it is now a must to get vaccinated as early as possible.

However, there are still some who are either skeptical, afraid or just didn’t get a confirmation for their appointment yet.

If you find yourself in this page, anxious or lost on what to prepare then let me assure you by sharing this complete guide on what to do before, during and after the vaccination to help you out and achieve the best results possible.

Before receiving the vaccine

COVID vaccine site cebu copy
  • Do Read up on Vaccines

Use your stalking skills and read up on the vaccines available in your area, their side effects and studies conducted, just make sure to read from reliable sources.

  • Do Prepare a Medical Certificate/Medical Clearance if necessary

If you have health conditions, pregnant or any concerns in the compatibility of vaccines to your body, you can consult your doctor to have a medical certificate or clearance to ease your worries.

  • Do familiarize yourself with the vaccination site

Look up the location of the vaccination site and plan for your means of transportation and estimated time of arrival.

  • Don’t Register to only one vaccination program

Vaccines are being rolled out in every part of the country but there is a very long waiting list especially if you’re not part of the priority groups. It is very important to start registering now to not just one but to anywhere you can.

  • Don’t Stress yourself

Sleep well, eat well and drink plenty of water. Get your body in good condition. Stressing out on what will happen during vaccination will not do you any good.

During vaccination

Photo from unicef.org
  • Do wear comfortable or vaccination-friendly tops

You really don’t want to wear long sleeves and go through the ordeal of undoing the buttons and exposing yourself like some of the ones who made this mistake. Just wear something that has easy access to the upper arm where the vaccine will be administered.

  • Do Be prepared for anything

Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated, a fan in case it gets too hot, face shield, extra face masks, pen for documents and an umbrella to avoid too much exposure from the sun or just in case it rains.

  • Don’t get injected on your dominant arm

Opt to have it on your non-dominant arm as the injected arm tends to get numb and movement creates discomfort. So, if you’re right-handed then have your injection on your left arm.

  • Don’t take pain relievers on your vaccination day

You may think you are preventing something in advance, pain relievers may have negative effects to your body’s ability to form an immune response to the vaccine.

  • Don’t leave vaccination site immediately

Though there are sites which only gives the vaccination card after monitoring, others don’t have a very smooth flowing process or clear stations that some may get lost or think they’re done. Make sure that your vitals are taken after at least 15-30 mins of being vaccinated.

After Vaccination

Photo from unicef.org
  • Do Expect side effects

There are always side effects. You may have just the usual bruise-like/pain feeling in your injected arm or more like feeling unwell, chills, and feeling feverish. Take note of any side effects and ask your doctor for advice if it gets worse.

  • Do keep healthy

Living healthy will boost your body’s immune system to help you adjust to the vaccine and fight against covid-19. Have enough rest, eat healthy foods and take vitamins every day.

  • Don’t engage into strenuous activities

If you have a work out routine, rest for at least 3 days before getting back. Don’t tire your body with swimming or running and lifting heavy objects. Let your body rest.

  • Don’t take alcoholic drinks and tobacco for at least 2 weeks

Alcohol and tobacco will do the opposite of your healthy habits and will lower your body’s immune response and hinder with the effectivity of the vaccine.
