Baby Shark sets world record with 10 Billion Views on YouTube

Even adults are also going crazy about it!

Baby Shark, the aquatic-themed earworm that toddlers and preschoolers alike are fascinated with, has reached a new milestone.

The hit song, which was produced by Pinkfong, is YouTube’s most-watched video and the only one to exceed 10 billion views. It was uploaded on YouTube in June 2016.

Baby Shark surpassed “Despacito,” a Spanish-language song from Luis Fonsi featuring reggaeton king Daddy Yankee, which had set the previous record of 7.04 billion views in November 2020.

“It has been a truly meaningful journey to witness how Baby Shark has connected people around the world, and we can’t wait to introduce Baby Shark’s further adventures that will bring unparalleled experiences to even more fans everywhere.”

– Min-seok Kim, CEO of The Pinkfong Co.

The song “Baby Shark” is thought to have started as a campfire song in the early twentieth century.

During the chant, campers used their arms to imitate Baby Shark, Mommy Shark, Daddy Shark, Grandma Shark, and Grandpa Shark’s varied jaw shapes and sizes.

Hope Segoine, who was 10 years old at the time, sang Baby Shark, which reached No. 32 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 38 on the Global 200.

Viral: Funny Bisaya Moments when in Manila

2022 may have placed all our plans on halt, but Pinoys, specifically Bisaya, can always see the silver lining.

One concrete example is this video posted by hopiadeduma on TikTok about the ‘Funny Bisaya Moments in Manila.’

The video was about the Bisaya who have either relocated or traveled to Manila. They shared their hilarious experiences while in Manila. They were also able to compare and contrast Filipino words from Bisaya.

My favorite would have to be the one commented by George Christian saying: “Patawarin nyo po kami” when haggling in Divisoria.

A lot of Bisaya have actually shared their experiences which have gone viral. This is a nice avenue for us to be able to laugh and be happy amidst adversities. Watch the video here:

May this inspire not only the Bisaya, but everyone all across the globe to always look for things to be happy about. We all need to be one another’s source of happiness.

Watch: Bisaya dialogue in Cartoon Network’s Craig of the Creek

We always get that indescribable excitement when we hear our own language is being used in international movies or series.

I know I couldn’t stress this enough, but I hope you are getting my excitement. The Philippine flag deserves to be seen yet again, in the international scene, after the Bisaya representation was shown on Cartoon Network.

Cartoon Network animated series ‘Craig of the Creek’ has featured Eileen’s grandmother, who happens to be a Bisaya on the animated film. Her grandmom was heard to be speaking in Bisaya when being introduced to Craig.

Apart from speaking in Bisaya, it was also observed that some of the Filipino practices have been shown. Craig was then observed to have done the ‘mano po’ to Eileen’s grandmother, which was obviously part of the Filipino culture.

This is such a proud moment for the Filipinos, especially the Bisaya.

“She can retire at 15 if she wants to.”

This is what Pixie Curtis’ mother shared as her 10-year-old daughter currently owns two companies that are making huge profits. Her savings in the bank have piled up to the point that she can afford to retire at the age of 15.

Yes. We are all envious of this wonder entrepreneur kid from Australia. Pixie has set up her toy company while she is still in elementary school.

With the help of her mother, Roxy Jacenko, Pixie started “Pixie’s Fidgets” launched last year in which the toys sold out in less than 48 hours.

Quite a feat for a child and of course coming from a mother that is a businesswoman as well who owns several successful businesses, we are not that shocked. Pixie’s other company is something that her mother started when she was a baby, “Pixie’s Bows”.

Both businesses’ mother company “Pixie’s Pix”, sells other games and accessories for children.

“Our family joke has been I’ll be working till I’m 100 and Pixie will have retired at 15 – I certainly know who’s smarter.”- Roxy Jacenko, Pixie’s mom

A businesswoman and a social media star, Pixie has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram where she shares her personal life as well as speaks about her business ventures and purchases.

Despite all this success, her mother worries and told Pixie that if she doesn’t want to be involved with her companies anymore, they can reassess. She doesn’t want her to feel pressured and feel like she has to work but have seen that for now, she is happy learning so much.

Filipino artist shares The Further Adventures of Ned’s Lola in ‘Spiderman No Way Home’

0

Ben Deguzman shared on his Twitter account @abouthebenjamin a fun and interesting fan-made sequel to the newly released Spiderman No Way Home.

Spiderman No Way Home is an amazing movie for its storyline and the grand reveal of 3 spidermen but most of all for us Filipinos, seeing Ned’s Lola.

The Filipino representation was so strong in this movie with Ned and Lola, it was one of its most memorable parts as it showed the true nature of a Filipino grandmother.

Ned’s Lola was so badass and blunt which inspired this comic covers.

There are scenes of her adventures in dealing with the villains in the movie. It showed how Lola can defeat them just by being a Filipino. Venom would be eaten as his color is like Dinuguan. Green Goblin would be erased with a cross. Sandman is the funniest as he will experience death by being swept.

There is also MJ being the pandesal waster and Lola rearing to fight her or scold her because of it.
