Miss Love Duck of Alvida Pirates
“Iron Mace” Alvida, the captain of Alvida Pirates, is one of the first antagonists in the show. Alvida appeares to be a tall and very obese woman with long wavy black hair, and freckles on her cheeks. The Alvida Pirates use the Main Love Duck as their main ship. In the anime, the ship is shaped like a heart in design with heart-shaped patterns all over the sides.

Baratie, a 5-star floating restaurant
Located in the Sambas Region of the East Blue, the Baratie is an ocean-going restaurant run by Zeff. And this is where we meet our cook, Vinsmoke Sanji, for the first time.
The Baratie is a large oval-shaped wooden vessel that has a fish’s head formed on its front-piece. The ship may be for dining but a small array of cannons are lined on its sides, which can be used for battle.

Going Merry
What is a Captain without his ship? The Going Merry is the most iconic ship known to fans and non-fans. It was the first full-sized ship owned by the Straw Hat Pirates so it is basically a ‘home’ for the crew.
In the anime, the Going Merry had a jib and a central steer rudder. The ship’s armaments consisted of four cannons that the crew rarely used. It has a head of a sheep on its front-piece and the Straw Hat’s jolly roger painted on its sail.

With the Going Merry’s cartoony head was changed into something realistic, fans have mixed reactions to this.
Sadly, Netflix still haven’t give any hint at a release date or window, so One Piece likely won’t be released any time soon.
But the good thing is, the amount of work they’re doing shows they are making this show with love. Admittedly the fact that they’re building actual sets like this and not just using CGI is really impressive. Hopefully this can be a slayful adaptation.

NEW LOCKSCREEN INTERFACE
For a more personalized look, users may alter a huge variety of design elements, including text styles and colors, on a brand-new, fully configurable Lock Screen. Apple claims that there are millions of conceivable design possibilities on the new Lock Screen, which features a row of widgets. Users may create various Lock Screens and effortlessly switch between them by swiping left or right.

Notifications now roll up from the bottom of the screen and can be easily concealed, allowing users to see their customized Lock Screen in full view. When enjoying music or working out, Live Activities make it easy to keep track of happenings in real time right from the Lock Screen.
Focus modes have been improved in iOS 16, and users may now link Focus modes to a custom Lock Screen. Swiping between separate dedicated Lock Screens can also activate Focuses. Users may utilize focus filters to exclude distracting items from apps like Safari tab groups, Calendar events, and Messages discussions.

Dictation – When speaking, the keyboard remains open, allowing users to combine voice and typing in real time. It also now adds punctuation and emojis to texts, even those sent by Siri.
Live Text – Live Text is extended to video, allowing users to select text while watching a movie. New quick actions in selected Live Text may do tasks such as currency conversion and text translation immediately in the camera view.
Visual Lookup – Users can now pull out subjects and drag them elsewhere by touching and holding on to them in a picture.
Maps – Enhanced Apple Maps is now available in a growing number of nations and towns across the world. Users can schedule up to fifteen stops ahead of time using multistop routing.
Family Sharing – The new feature allows parents to manage their children’s accounts more easily, including setting age-appropriate limitations and setting up additional devices. With Quick Start, Screen Time requests in Messages, and a Family Checklist feature that reminds users to check parental controls, there is a simpler device setup experience with parental controls.
Safety Check – This is a new area in Settings for reviewing and editing any access provided to other users, allowing you to swiftly manage and remove access, reset privacy rights, prevent message access, and cease sharing location data.

This new character is a Hog Pokémon is already a fan favorite especially for Cebuanos. Its very name compels us to like, as it is wittingly derived from ‘lechon,’ or roasted pig which Cebu is known for.
The Pokémon Company introduced this new pokemon through a new trailer released last June 1, for the next set of mainline Pokémon games including a few new characters.
Published by Nintendo, Lechonk will be available in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video game by November 2022.

Good news! The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has opened new passport appointment slots for the month of June to September 2022.
This is according to the tweet of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Brigido Dulay on June 3.

Just like the usual, slots run out quickly. In fact, as of this writing, there are no longer dates available for June and July 2022. The earliest is in mid-August.

One of the most affected (yet often least mentioned) by the COVID-19 pandemic are the board exam takers. Almost those who take the board exam experience anxiety, particularly the gap between when they graduate and up to the day, they enter the examination room. With their future at stake, preparing the board exam is not a joke. Now imagine if that waiting is prolonged for more than a year.

Such is the case for one Cebuano from Minglanilla, Kaizen Oriel, who took the board exam last May 2022 after graduating last May 2020. It took him two years to finally take the board exam, with great results as he managed to be the 8th placer of the Board Examination for Civil Engineers with a rating of 92.20%.
Now at 24 years old, Kaizen is a graduate of University of San Carlos. He finished the degree last May 2020 and admittedly, have been preparing for the board examinations as early as the start of 2020.
But like most reviewees, the struggle Kaizen experienced brought by the postponement of board exams because of the COVID-19 pandemic was taking a toll on his mental health.
“Because I graduated last 2020, I started reviewing early year 2020 pa. And then because the board exams kept on getting postponed due to the level of COVID-19 cases, I kept enrolling in the review center.”
KAIZEN NOTED IN AN INTERVIEW.
Kaizen recalls that for many times that he lost the motivation to review, especially every time he heard the news that the board exams will be postponed. A total of 3 postponements was the nightmarish experience for Kaizen.
“I was never able to get past the first subject because I couldn’t find the motivation to study because I wasn’t sure if the board exam would be held at that time.”
KAIZEN REMARKED.
With the uncertainty when the exams will be finally taking place, Kaizen decided to temporarily work for a real estate development company. This led him to skip the November 2021 board exams for Civil Engineers as he chose to focus on the work that he recently entered.

Kaizen also mentioned that the typhoon Odette in December 2021, which struck Cebu pretty hard, was also one of the reasons who further lost motivation to take the board exams.
But luckily, Kaizen was already good with math and engineering sciences. Although he didn’t graduate with Latin honors during college, he said that he was lucky to not have failed one single subject with the program.
Kaizen went on to take the May 2022 board exam for civil engineers and placed 8th among the topnotchers, a feat that he achieved with the help of family and friends as he says.
“I would like to thank my family, my mom, and my dad, for supporting me throughout my journey. And to my friends for helping me and answering my questions while I was reviewing for the board exam.”
