You can personally apply at the concierge, Upper Ground Level, but it will be much easier and fast for you just to do it online.

· Scan the QR code or click the J Home Pet ID Application Form link: https://forms.gle/1rXVnpwnT9MuXC6W7

· Fill up the application form with your pet’s name, type, breed, gender and birthdate.

· You will also have to submit soft copies of 1×1 pet photo and the latest Anti-rabies and 5-in-1 (dogs) or 4-in-1 (cats) Vaccination Record.

· The owner’s information has to be submitted as well like name, address and contact info.

· Wait for J Centre Mall’s Notification to claim your J Home Pet ID within three working days after execution.

Note: No processing fee however, J Centre Mall may impose charges on amendments or penalties for loss and misuse of J Home Pet ID.

There is no order without a few rules. The pets are given freedom and are welcomed with open arms but we still have to keep in mind that it is a public setting and certain guidelines must be followed.

‘The Office’ Fans! LEGO releases The Office-Themed Set

That’s what she said!

If you are a fan of NBC’s mockumentary comedy series, The Office, then I have some good news for you. LEGO, the famous line of plastic construction toys, is known worldwide since the 1950s as a household name as an innovative play thing for kids.

Through its LEGO IDEAS series, the company is officially releasing a “The Office” themed set, granting the request of die-hard The Office fans. The LEGO IDEAS is the company’s initiative which serves as an opportunity to bridge the gap between fans and LEGO designers. The same platform allows builders of all ages to submit designs that are then reviewed by the community to determine interest in the concept.

Upon review with at least 10,000 “supporters”, these designs are then reviewed by the higher-ups from LEGO to evaluate if there is indeed a market for such designs. Luckily, designs for The Office themed set is becoming a reality, but the road to get there was actually rough for Dunder Mifflinites.

Back in 2015 and 2019, there were two rejected attempts promoting “The Office” Lego designs but this year, LEGO fan designer Jaijai Lewis finally gets to see The Office come to life in the world of LEGO.

With more than 1,000 Lego pieces, fans get to enjoy a miniature version of the famous Dunder Mifflin Scranton office, the fictional paper company where the show is set in.

The LEGO set will also be reportedly featuring a lineup of fifteen minifigures, all showcasing the main cast of the beloved show: Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam, Ryan, Angela, Oscar, Kevin, Stanley, Kelly, Phyllis, Meredith, Creed, Toby and Darryl, plus a LEGO figure of Garbage the cat are all included with accessories that reference some of the most hilarious moments from the show.

Speaking of the overall design, based from the sample photos, the LEGO design is also religiously based from the Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch office as depicted from the actual show. This includes Michael’s conference room, Pam’s reception area, the sales area, the accountants’ area and a mini-conference room.

The Office fans can pre-order LEGO’s The Office set now via LEGO at a price of $120 USD, with an official release date of October 1, 2022. Through its LEGO stores, these designs will be readily available particularly in Walmart stores as it will be promoted as an exclusive stateside item.

Last July 12, 2022, the Internet was shaken to the core (but in a good way) when NASA finally shared the first deepest and sharpest images of the Universe in an infrared view.

Through the James Webb Space Telescope, which is known as the world’s largest and most powerful space science telescope. scientists back in NASA were able to capture thousands of galaxies including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared, reportedly of early cosmos formed after Big Bang.

With US President Joe Biden recognizing this global milestone, the POTUS tweeted that the first images released a historic moment for science and technology, indicating that the achievement was for America and all humanity.

According to the reports, the picture depicts SMACS 0723, a 4.6-billion-year-old galaxy cluster that acts as a gravitational lens, magnifying the considerably more distant and extremely faint objects behind it. This means that the images captured by the powerful telescope were images that took place billions of light years ago, going back to the early era when the Big Bang first happened.

“Thousands of galaxies – including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared – have appeared in Webb’s view for the first time. This slice of the vast universe covers a patch of sky approximately the size of a grain of sand held at arm’s length by someone on the ground”,

Despite how wonderful and vast the images seem, NASA’s administrator Bill Nelson remarked that the image captured was just a sliver of the so vast universe.

“This mission was made possible by human ingenuity – the incredible NASA Webb team and our international partners at the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency. Webb is just the start of what we can accomplish in the future when we work together for the benefit of humanity”,

For those who don’t know, the James Webb Space Telescope was first built with the main goal of conducting infrared astronomy. First launched last December 25, 2021, the telescope managed to capture the images released by NASA to the internet 6 months after its mission. The telescope has an estimated life span of 20 years but with only 10 years’ worth of planned missions.

Costing around 10 billion US dollars to build and deploy, the telescope was first conceptualized in the late 90s as an improvement from the Hubble Space Telescope which was deployed in the early 90s. Aptly named after one of the leading figures during the Apollo mission during the Space Race, particularly the ‘first man on the moon’ mission, James Webb, NASA decided to name the groundbreaking telescope after him as an honor.

Webb also famously the served as the second administrator of NASA from 1961 to 1968, where under him much of the Space Race achievements by the United States were achieved.

Bill making divorce legal in PH re-filed in 19th Congress

We are the only country in the world, aside from the Vatican City, where the pope lives and the center for Roman Catholic to be exact, which still views divorce as illegal.

The Philippines is apparently living on ancient times. We have exceeded every country in earth for having extremely socially conservative laws.

Our country, except for Muslims, does not have divorce as an option for troubled marriages. Clearly this situation is not suitable for these modern times already.

Though there is still hope for us as a bill seeking to legalize divorce in the country has been re-filed in the 19th Congress.

“The Philippines is the only country, aside from the Vatican, which remains to outlaw absolute divorce even as the Catholic hierarchy grants canonical dissolution of marriage,”

 – ALBAY REP. EDCEL C. LAGMAN

This was a powerful statement given by the principal author of previous bills legislating absolute divorce. He emphasized in the House Bill (HB) 78, that there are only two sovereign states in the world where divorce is illegal—the Philippines and the Vatican City.

He further stated that all other Catholic countries recognize absolute divorce in varying degrees of liberality. Liberation of beleaguered and tormented wives from irretrievably dysfunctional marriages or inordinately abusive marital relations is what he hopes for.

“Not being able to get out of a loveless, unhappy, even abusive, marriage is a human rights concern for women. The right of women to live free of physical, emotional, and psychological violence is a human right. The right of women not to live in fear is a human right. The right of women to remunerative work and economic independence is a human right. The right of women to autonomy in all aspects of their lives is human right,”

Senator Raffy Tulfo was the one who proposed the Divorce bill. He also said that he is ready to discuss his proposed bill with the Catholic Church.

Here’s why you haven’t received your PhilSys National IDs yet

The delivery of the PhilSys IDs or National IDs has become a mystery unsolved for all Filipinos.

And this mystery has many causes like:

  • People who registered later got theirs earlier
  • People who registered together like family members didn’t receive it at the same time, and some, even up to this day, still haven’t received it

The Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) clarified these issues in the delivery of the said cards by saying that the problem is not with the Post Office. They said that they have stayed true to their mandate to deliver efficient, competitive, and on-time delivery of goods and services.

They answered the question on the “not received IDs” with:

“ngayon, ang tanong, ang sabi [ay] hindi pa raw nila natatanggap ‘yung IDs nila dahil hindi pa namin nadedeliver”

Roughly translated, they are saying that the people haven’t received their IDs because they haven’t delivered them yet.

They announced that they have delivered the PhilSys IDs turned over for dispatch to their intended recipients and further said that the Post Office has delivered more than 13.7 million PhilSys IDs nationwide. That is 94% of the 14.5 million ID cards turned over for dispatch as of June 30, 2022.

To those six percent (6%) or 774,650 ID cards who haven’t received it, you can verify or check your PhilSys ID by following these steps.

  1. Check their website: post office website 
  2. Track your IDs.
  3. If the result is “not found”, Post office hasn’t received PhilSys ID yet so contact them through:

Do’s and Don’ts on the new 1,000-Peso Polymer Bills

The Philippines new P1,000 polymer bill was definitely the talk of the town as aside for its novelty, a viral video of someone paying a folded new P1,000 bill was denied. The bill was not accepted and that is where the netizens made an uproar.

The new polymer bill is quite sensitive and has additional care in handling it compared to the old ones.

Folded polymer banknotes though must still be accepted by retailers and banks, as confirmed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Here are the Do’s and Don’ts of BSP on handling the new P1,000 banknotes.

Do’s

  • Do keep them Flat

Invest in bigger wallets that would fit them to avoid it being crumpled. If it does get crumpled, flatten them with your hands or any heavy object like books or place it within its pages.

  • Do keep them Clean and Dry

This is an old reminder but is still worth repeating. Keep your hands tidy when handling them. You may wipe the polymer bills with a damp cloth or alcohol-based sanitizers but immediately dry them as well.

Don’ts

  • Don’t hoard them

You have to actually use them. Don’t make them like a keepsake or worse sell them at a higher value.

  • Don’t write on them

Defacing and marking these bills are a big no. You might as well have kissed your P1,000 goodbye as no one would accept them anymore.

  • Don’t overfold/over crumple them

Though they are accepted, it is still advised not to overly do it. Polymer bills are quite sensitive so don’t excessively fold and crumple them.

  • Don’t cut or poke holes in them

Self-explanatory but apparently as history suggests, people do this pretty commonly. The amount might give you hesitation though as tears and cuts and holes will make it unacceptable.

  • Don’t staple or bundle with rubber

These old habits must not be applied to the new bills as rubbers can cause it to crumple or crease. And of course, staples will definitely punch holes in it.

The young ones are our future.

This Student from UP just gave this sentence justice as his gravity experiment will soon be tested on the International Space Station.

The impressive young mind is William Kevin Abran of UP Los Banos and his experiment all started with a simple yet intriguing question.

“How do barbel-shaped objects rotate in space?”

This curiosity is apparently intriguing enough as it has convinced scientists at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). They chose his experiment proposal to be one of the 24 finalists in the competition he joined in, the Asian Try Zero-G 2022 or ATZG. That is 24 picks from a total of 201 submissions sent by 480 students around the world.

Abran’s proposal is a great feat indeed as it will be a comparative verification, the first of its kind, of the behavior of dumbells in space as opposed to pliers. Insights on Dzhanibekov effect and the exemption of dumbell-shaped objects from this phenomenon will be observed.

And though it is his experiment, it will be performed by a Japanese astronaut, Koichi Wakata. He will perform the experiments starting in the last quarter of 2022.

According to the Philippine Space Agency who received all Filipino student’s proposals, criteria for evaluation were:

  • scientific significance
  • novelty
  • safety
  • resource requirement
  • feasibility
