Your dream tour destinations, both domestic and foreign, will be showcased anew this year when the 3^rd International Travel Festival (ITF) reels off on July 15-17 at the Ayala Center Cebu.

With the theme: “Don’t Dream, Just Go” and organized by MyEventology, the three-day 2016 ITF brings together over 100 exhibitors including national tour operators, airlines, hotels, resorts, travel agents, financial institutions, and insurance agents.

“We are happy to note that our visitor rate has grown steadily and that we have provided positive results to our participating exhibitors,” said Stephanie Villahermosa, ITF project director.

“It’s really gratifying for us knowing that the show has not only generated sales for the exhibitors, but has likewise enabled them to reinforce their relationship proximity with their clients,” Villahermosa added.

Event organizers will also hold the 2^nd Cebu Travel Exchange as a precursor to the 3^rd ITF on July 14 at Radisson Blu Cebu.

The Cebu Travel Exchange (CTX) is a business-to-business session among ITF exhibitors from the airline industry, hotels, resorts, and travel agencies.

According to Villahermosa, the 2^nd CTX promises to be much bigger affair as prospective international buyers from the different ASEAN countries, India, and the Middle East will be in attendance this year.

The one-day CTX session will be held at the Nina Ballrooms of Radisson Blu.

Sugbo Mercado expands in Cebu Business Park

The phenomenal weekend food market that got Cebuanos and tourists go crazy about, Sugbo Mercado opens its second branch in another key location of the Queen City of the South, Cebu Business Park (CBP) starting this June 24.

“With a wait list for a vendor spot stretching over a month and an even more diverse guest population coming in droves, we knew it was time.”, says a Sugbo Mercado representative.

The management is looking at bringing the experience to the area and take on its active vibe. With a lot of new vendors coming armed with exciting food concepts plus some of its flagship location’s tenants also branching out to the new location, Sugbo Mercado hopes to create a new identity and dynamic to define this expansion.

Located on a grassy field along Pescadores Road in Cebu Business Park, Sugbo Mercado Weekend Food Market – CBP will operate on a slightly different schedule on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3PM to 12MN.

Business continues as usual at its original location at the Garden Bloc of Cebu Business Park on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5PM-1AM.

The 12th and the biggest Cebu Goes Colinary of the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu, Inc. (HRRAC) is still the most anticipated and exciting culinary competition in Visayas with this year’s theme “fruits of the Earth.”

This year, the event will highlight the skills and mastery of the culinary art by professional chefs and aspiring chefs from different hotels, resorts, culinary schools and universities from all over Cebu and neighboring provinces like Bohol, Negros, Dumaguete and Iloilo.

There will be 20 culinary-related competitions including cake decorating, speed cooking and bartending. There will also be table setting and menu setting. The Chocolate Chamber Challenge and The Noodle Challenge are likewise something to look forward. These competitions will be divided into three categories: the professional, culinary school, and student/university category.

The Cebu Goes Culinary 2016 event will be held on July 22-23, 2016 at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu and is expected to attract over 5,000 visitors to sample culinary delights over the 2-day food event.

Excel guru to hold seminar in Cebu City

A hands-on seminar for experienced users of Microsoft Excel will be held on June 22 and 23 at the Crown Regency Hotel in Cebu City by one of the original developers of the spreadsheet program. Gurango Software Managing Director Joey Gurango, who was part of the original Excel development team at Microsoft, will give intermediate and master classes for Excel users.

The Excel Intermediate class will be held on June 22 for experienced users who want to learn more about Excel functions, formatting, illustrations, tables, and auditing. Registration fee for the one-day training is P4,995 and is inclusive of lunch and snacks. Participants must have regular working experience at creating formulae and formatting cells in Excel models containing more than 50 rows or columns.

Gurango Software’s Excel Master class will be held on June 23 for advanced users who wish to acquire skills on charting, macros, databases, pivot tables, analytics, and other add-ins. Registration fee is P6,495 and is inclusive of lunch and snacks. Pre-requisite: regular working experience at using Excel functions, applying formatting styles, creating and maintaining tables, and effectively auditing large-scale Excel models.

Groups can avail of 1 free registration for every 4 students registered as part of Gurano Software’s 4+1 promo. Students can also retake any class at 50% of the fee paid for the original class taken. Each class will be an interesting mix of presentations and tutored exercises, with 1 tutor for every 9 students. Students are required to bring their laptops with Excel installed.

All the class materials used in the Intermediate and Master classes are based on the Excel version from Office 2013 for Windows. At least 85% of all the class content are compatible with earlier and later versions of Excel for Windows and for Macintosh. Less than 50% of the Intermediate and Master class content are compatible with the Online and Mobile versions of Excel.
