Disney’s science-fantasy and action-adventure film is reportedly on the works.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire, the 2001 American animated science-fantasy action-adventure film by Walt Disney Feature Animation, is reportedly to be played by Tom Holland.

This Disney’s animated classic is in the early stages of development by The Walt Disney.

Disney intends to “stick fairly close to the animated film” and rumor has it that Holland is playing the geeky role of Smithsonian cartographer Milo Thatch. The character was initially voiced by Michael J. Fox in the 2001 animated version, according to MovieWeb.

Though there are not many details about the live action just yet, a source from The Illuminerdi said that the movie is in its early stages already. The director and other characters of the movie are also still unclear.

The story is about an inexperienced young adventurer becomes the key to unraveling an ancient mystery when he joins up with a group of daredevil explorers to find the legendary lost empire of Atlantis. A naive-but-determined museum cartographer Milo Thatch dreams of completing the quest begun by his late grandfather, a famous explorer. When a journal surfaces, an eccentric billionaire funds an expedition, and the action shifts to high gear.

Disney is also now developing:

  • 101 Dalmatians prequel Cruella, starring Emma Stone
  • The Little Mermaid, starring Halle Bailey
  • Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides, Into the Woods

Reese Lansangan’s song about space and exploration will be heard by the universe.

#LaunchAmerica campaign aims to introduce a new era of spaceflight that returns the ability to launch astronauts to the United States.

With this, NASA tapped Filipina Singer-Songwriter to share ‘A Song about Space’ off her debut record Arigato, Internet! for their campaign.

⁣My face got a one-second feature on @NASA’s official Youtube channel, no big deal 🤷🏻‍♀️🌜☄️🚀🛰…????⠀ ⠀ One day over lunch, I got a DM from NASA (yep, the one with 57M followers…) and I almost choked on my water. NASA sliding into my DMs, now there’s something I never thought I’d see! They said they loved my super old and embarrassing “A Song About Space” video from my channel and asked if they could possibly use it for a promo vid. Nothing was set in stone so after I got over the immediate shock of the NASA DM, I just silently hoped for the best. Then I got an email back with the video link, and in my pride I took all the screencaps! I always get teased for that old Space video of mine because 1) I still had braces & 2) I lisped (lithped) – but each time I thought about taking it down, I couldn’t bring myself to. I figured it’s part of my history & it’s fun to make fun of yourself every now and then! Little did I know, it would be the video that NASA would notice and end up watching… it just blows my mind!⠀🤯🤯🤯 ⠀ I guess there’s a lesson in there somewhere – to honor yourself always – your lovable, bewildering, sometimes even embarrassing self! So from the bottom of NENE REESE’s heart – a sincere thank you to the universe for this tiny, tiny victory. (ALSO 🔗 click link in bio to watch a redheaded Reese lisping in song) . . 📷 @marecollantes

As Bob Behnken and Dough Hurley are off to hop on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft on May 27 in Florida. This new campaign is to support them, too.

To join and support this campaign, NASA is encouraging all the space fans who are either:

  • Building homemade rockets
  • Taking selfies in space suits
  • Writing odes to the stars
  • Or in whatever creative way you can show your support

Share your photos and videos on social media and use the hashtag #LaunchAmerica for a chance to be featured.

“‘A Song About Space’ is my open letter to the universe. I feel like a lot of us have that innate fascination for space and what’s beyond us, what’s beyond Earth, and I just wanted to translate my curiosity into a simple but catchy song.”

‘Your Name’ and ‘Weathering With You’ creator hints new movie project

1 Weathering With You Your Name New Movie

Your Name and Weathering With You are those animated films that are so heart-wrenching and aesthetically made that we just can’t get enough of them.

These anime films are truly a masterpiece by the acclaimed director-creator Makoto Shinkai and brace yourself for he is hinting on another new film project and I just hope that our hearts are prepared for it.

Makoto Shinkai

Shinkai have shared a photo showing his work in progress.

“I’m gradually assembling my new work while following the pace of the production of ‘Weathering With You’ three years ago. I don’t have the brainpower to imagine the story, the characters, and the visuals all at once, so I’ve been working on it for months and months, trying to build it up and break it down again. It’s already early summer…”

– Makoto Shinkai

We might be waiting years for the film to finally hit the screens but I bet as its predecessors it will be worth the wait.

Beat the Heat with this homemade Magnum Ice Cream recipe

Even if PAG-ASA says we’re not experiencing summer, with the scorching heat of the sun, apologies, but we’ll have to disagree.

Days burn like matches and the next thing we know, we’re already in our last few days of May. Being in lockdown, it’s not a doubt that the weather has been extremely hot these past few days.

An ice cold water is not enough to quench our thirst. An ice cream, maybe? But, it’s going to cost us a fortune especially if we do it every single day. Hence, we’ve got something for you.

Indulge yourselves with this wonderful treat – Magnum. But hey! We mean, ‘HOME-MADE’ Magnum ice cream. Want to know how? Keep on reading!

PROCEDURE:

1. You got to prepare the ingredients first!

  • 2 cups of Whipping Cream (or full cream milk)
  • 1/2 cup of Condensed Milk
  • 1 tsp of Ovalette
  • a dash of Vanilla Essence
  • 350g of Dark or Milk Chocolate

2. Blend the whipping cream, condensed milk, ovalette, and vanilla essence (using a blender) until soft and fluffy.

6. Add the ice cream mixture into the ice cream packet.

7. Place it in the freezer for 5 to 6 hours.

8. Don’t forget to enjoy!

Filipinos sure have a lot of creative juices, especially during lockdown.

Eljem Po Gio from Tabogon, Cebu posted on Facebook some interesting ‘aerial shots’ of their place. If you think he’s using a drone, I’m sorry to burst your bubble. He attached his phone on a kite and took photos.

Who would have thought that you need not to shell a huge amount from your savings to buy yourself a drone? I mean, we all know the difference of the quality and on how we couldn’t really navigate the kite as much as we could with the drone. But hey, they sure serve the same purpose. After all, we wouldn’t want to waste our money during quarantine, so, this is a fun alternative.

Though we don’t encourage you to do the same, we just want to share to you how our fellow Cebuanos are actually spending their time during quarantine. We all have our own little ways to have fun, this is his.

okay pata? 😂

Good news to all the devotees in the whole province of Cebu. Provided the observance of all public health protocols, churches in the province of Cebu will be opened to visit the Blessed Sacrament and pray.

To ensure safety, these are to be followed:

  • Only three persons per pew shall be allowed at a time
  • Strict social distancing must be observed
  • Wearing of a face mask is a must
  • Sanitizers and/or Disinfectants must be available at all times
  • Touching of the religious icons and the Holy Water is strictly prohibited while a routinary disinfection of the Church premises will be done.

However, Holy Mass celebrations will remain online until June 1, 2020, or until further notice.

On Tuesday, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia met with Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Chancellor for the Archdiocese of Cebu Msgr. Renato Beltran, Jr. to discuss the Church’s position on Cebu Province’s shift to general community quarantine (GCQ).

“Ganina nag meeting ta with Chancellor sa Archdiocese of Cebu si Msg. Renato Beltran, Jr., and we have agreed nga ablihan ang simbahan dili para misa kay ang misa online lang gihapon kanang live streaming lang gihapon. Mahimo nga mubisita sa simbahan aron mangadye,”

– Governor Gwen Garcia

According to Beltran, they will be holding public Masses on June 1 given that they will be following the CBCP guidelines, allowing the Church to prepare for the new normal.

While Department of Health (DOH) 7 Director Dr. Jaime Bernadas said that a strict social distancing must be followed, Beltran assures that they will be abiding by the public health protocols on COVID-19.

Public masses will only be done on June 1, from Wednesdays to Sundays. Beltran also assured us that the pews will be disinfected every after the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

This is one of the amazing local creations we’ve seen so far amid home quarantine.

If you think the college/university gown digital sketches of Neil John Diaz were enough proof of his talent, wait until you see his new artworks. From the amazing colleges and universities night gowns, be prepared for his new collection — the Branches of Science Eleganza (elegance).

Being a Science teacher, Diaz wanted to put into a wonderful artwork his learnings. Apart from teaching the said subject to his students, quarantine made him sketch these mesmerizing designs, digitally.

Who would have thought that the branches of Science could be this wonderful? We never did. I mean, not until Neil John Tibayde Diaz, did. He could really be a remarkable designer, apart from being a teacher.

Few weeks ago, I tried to digitally sketch my works and as a beginner, I knew I had a lot of stuff to learn. So to make…

NASA says Skywatching in May is amazing

0
Mactan Bridge, Cebu | Leah Lei

Want to view bright objects in our solar system and beyond? Read on.

Viewing of our mesmerizing solar system could be done during sunrise and sunset.

According to NASA, every day in May, an hour before sunrise, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon should be visible to the South.

As the sun sets, brilliant colors reflected in the clouds take on the red and orange hues of the setting sun, reflecting the colors back to the ground.

This causes the blue light that is seen during the daytime to be scattered away from our eyes, allowing more orange and red light to pass through. This causes the blue light that is seen during the daytime to be scattered away from our eyes, allowing more orange and red light to pass through

While an hour after sunset during May, the planet Venus and some distant stars should be visible too to the West.

“Many of us are staying home these days, and it’s normal to feel kind of cooped up, yearning for wide open spaces and more distant horizons,”

– NASA

“If you find yourself feeling like that, this might be a good time to remember that we’re in space, cruising through the solar system on our pale blue dot, with a vast, three-dimensional universe all around us,”

Even when you are from cities or the urban areas with terrible light pollution, bright planets like Venus and Jupiter, along with the stars Sirius (bluish) and Betelgeuse (reddish), are conspicuous.

“So when you’re looking westward in May’s early evening sky, think about how you’re looking outward through the disk of our galaxy, toward its outer edges, thousands of light years away,”

– NASA
