The cottage is almost as big as a house, and is comprised of a dining area, the deck, a pool, and a comfort room.

The dining area has one long table in the middle with 5 wide benches surrounding it. Notably, there’s a lot of legroom to go about, which makes it easy to walk through without stumbling into the furniture or other people. Beside the dining area is the deck of the cottage. It’s a wide area for walking, sitting, and gazing into the sea. Then, conveniently installed in the middle of the deck is the swimming pool. Now, in every barkada, there’s always that friend who’s afraid the ocean or the friend who can’t swim. The pool is the best fit for that friend who wishes to swim in absolute safety. It is an area lower than the deck cottage that allows water in, making a safe area where one can dip or paddle around without worry!

The cottage is purely open air, which means the scent of the sea and the spray of the saltwater freely passes through all areas of the cottage. This makes such an immersive time at sea and really brings you into the moment. At this point, you may wonder where one can get some privacy when nature calls. Fret not, as La Rita’s also has a fully functioning comfort room that doubles as a dressing room. With that covered, you are free to enjoy more of their amenities like the hammock installed onboard, and swimming with their free-to-use life vests.

On Thursday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of June 17, 2021.

Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 88 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 100 new recoveries, and 2 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 54,657, while the active cases decreased to 1,536 (from 1,550).

How to get there?

Exact location: Bangcogon Oslob, Southern Cebu — 3-4 hours away from the city. Just few meters away from Whale Shark Watching site.

BY CAR: Road trips are fun, especially if you’re going south. Make sure to navigate via Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Oslob Whale Shark Watching”. Look for the Bangcogon church near the Whale Shark activity site. You can see the road going uphill — from there, ask around for directions going to Cabana. The resort is 5-10 minutes away from the main road.

BY BUS: From the South Bus Terminal (near Emall), ride a Ceres bus going to “Bato-Oslob”. All buses bound for Oslob operate 24/7. Bus fare is ~₱155 /head (one-way). Inform the driver to drop you off at the Bangcogon church near the Whale Shark activity site. You can see the road going uphill — from there, ask around for directions going to Cabana. Leading developer in VisMin Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) and joint venture partner El Camino Developers Inc recently topped off its Php 3.5 billion high-end tower, 38 Park Avenue, nestled right at the heart of the Cebu IT Park, envisioned to be among the most preferred residential locations in Cebu.

The 38-storey tower with a sales value of Php 5.5 billion is already 96% sold, showing the market’s positive response for this project. 38 Park Avenue has successfully topped off despite lockdowns due to the pandemic as construction continued following strict compliance to health and safety protocols including Covid-19 testing. This was also driven by financial support to these third-party construction workers through weekly allowances on top of daily wages during the height of the pandemic. 

38 Park Avenue is the first phase of the three-phased mixed-use development within a 1.2-hectare property in the highest valued location in Metro Cebu. Set to start turnover by Q4 2021, the development offers upscale residential units and a lifestyle center within The Plaza, a generous park space with retail area. The next phases are currently under the planning stage.

The mixed-use development is inspired by New York City’s high-end residential towers and is developed and managed by CLI in partnership with El Camino Developers Inc., a consortium of five homegrown property companies composed of Gothong Southern Properties, Acrissor Development Corp., 12Sika Holdings Corp, RKP Property Holdings Inc. and Cebu Landmasters.

38 Park Avenue offers 764 units with 459 studio units, 230 one-bedroom units, 56 two-bedroom units, 11 three-bedroom units and eight penthouse units. All units have been laid out around a soaring atrium that infuses light and energy to the entire development, according to top architectural firm Aidea Philippines and international design consultant Callison RTKL.

The project anticipates the quick recovery of Cebu and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao with the return of greater global mobility. COVID cases in Cebu have been relatively well managed with medical facilities able to accommodate patients affected by the pandemic.

In the past two years, CLI has emerged as the leading residential developer in the Visayas and Mindanao, present in 15 key cities in the region. Soberano pointed out that premium residential offerings in the heart of Cebu’s highly active business district have also been in demand.

38 Park Avenue is set to feature a Sky Club on the 26th and 28th floors, 8 elevators, a Grand Atrium, 3-level basement parking, 2 high ceiling lobbies – with one each in the East and in the West Wing. The project also has a fitness gym, lounge areas, swimming pool, multi-function hall.

The project ensures safety and convenience through its other services including 24-hour security, CCTV system, 100% backup power, fire detection and property management services.

Project Update: P20-Billion Minglanilla Techno-Business Park

A strategic milestone in the development of the ambitious P20 billion Minglanilla Techno-Business Park or Ming-Mori reclamation project in Cebu was achieved today with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the local government of Minglanilla and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).

The municipality of Minglanilla was represented by Mayor Elanito Pena and the PRA by general manager and CEO Atty. Janilo Rubiato.  Witness to the signing ceremony held in Citadines Cebu City was Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) CEO Jose Soberano III, wearing his hat as chairman and president of CLI affiliate Ming-Mori Development Corp. CLI will be the developer and manager of the 100-hectare technohub envisioned to be a regional growth center designed to be sustainable and responsive to the environment.

PRA coordinates and administers all reclamation projects nationwide and approval of the development indicates that government has thoroughly evaluated the undertaking. Because many stakeholders are consulted, PRA’s process takes years. In 2020, the Ming-Mori project was issued an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) after more than five years of rigid and comprehensive review.

“The project will take CLI to a brand-new level and widen the range of our customer base to include light-industrial and technology-driven companies,” Soberano highlighted. “We aim to achieve a balanced and mutually supporting relationship between urban mixed-use development, light-industrial land use and environmental stewardship. This will be our formula for sustainable growth and development.”

Soberano added, “This is one of CLI’s biggest projects thus far. Because of the scale of this project that will take several phases to develop, we have carefully and meticulously planned it to be sustainable and supportive of future generations.”

CLI is fully equipped to develop and manage this high capital project with the solid support of equity and bank partners. Early this year, the listed company was able to secure Php 3 billion notes at a very competitive rate to fund early works for Ming-Mori beginning Q4 2021. CLI has also strengthened its capital base by declaring 123% stock dividends to shareholders on record as of June 18, which will be paid on or before July 14. This move prepares the firm for any capital raising in the future.

The estate’s proximity to Cebu City makes it a highly viable location for light manufacturing industries especially now that the province’s main industrial parks are fully occupied. Ming-Mori will also have its own port facilities to link it with the global economy.

To further attract locators, Ming-Mori’s first phase will include commercial, residential and institutional zones “to create enough diversity to make it a vibrant community at the outset,” Soberano said.

Jobs from light manufacturing firms will initially draw workers and their families into the area to create a critical mass of residents supported by residential and commercial areas, schools, churches, and other institutions. As more areas become available and are developed, CLI envisions a vibrant waterfront community with lifestyle, business and industry woven together.

Local government of Minglanilla Mayor Pena stated, “Ming-Mori Techno Business Park is the long-awaited realization of a dream of many Minglanillahanons that would later become a representation of progress that all of us will be forever grateful for. It is indeed, all in Minglanilla!”
