On Thursday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of November 4, 2021.
Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 46 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 44 new recoveries, and 3 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 103,750, while the active cases increased to 963 (from 961).

Good news for the citizens of the United States as the country is the first one to allow the gender designation of “X” – making it another progressive milestone for the land of milk and honey.
As a legal recognition for people who don’t identify as either male or female, the US State Department announced to make the gender “X” option routinely available for non-binary, intersex, and non-gender conforming persons applying for a US passport by early 2022.

“I want to reiterate, on the occasion of this passport issuance, the Department of State’s commitment to promoting the freedom, dignity, and equality of all people – including LGBTQI+ persons,” Ned Price, a spokesperson for the State Department, said in a statement.
It can be recalled that President Joe Biden himself had the LGBTQIA community in mind when he campaigned, and one of his promises specifically included that “every transgender or non-binary person should have the option of changing their gender marker to ‘M,’ ‘F,’ or ‘X’ on government identifications, passports, and other documentation.”

Back in 2015, it can also be recalled when Dana Zzym launched a legal battle against the State Department for refusing to issue a passport that acknowledged they were intersex. It was revealed that Zzym was born with ambiguous sex characteristics, meaning Zzym was born with both features of a male and female genitalia. Zzym’s parents, however, decided to raise him as a boy where eventually they became a Navy sailor.
Later in life, Zzym realized that they were intersex. Thus, the argument Zzym had was correct according to the constitution and the state was at the wrong as they refused to issue a passport that accurately reflects their gender.

“I’ve been at this fight for so long. I am optimistic that… I will soon receive an accurate passport. One that reflects who I truly am; and that will allow for me to present in person at the several international conferences to which I’ve been invited to present on issues confronting intersex people.” Zzym said in an interview.
Although this may be a progressive step for the United States, the country, however, is not the first to push through this. Bangladesh, India, the Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have already included the non-binary option on passport applications.

On October 29, 2021, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia released a memorandum allowing fully vaccinated travelers to only show their vaccination card upon entering the Province of Cebu.

Travelers would no longer need to present a negative RT-PCR or Antigen result. A medical certificate is no longer a requirement as well.
However, this memorandum is only for the domestic travelers. Returning Overseas Filipinos and Overseas Filipino Workers are still subject to national government policies.
Therefore, traveling to this lovely province should be easier, not only for the Cebuanos, but for the Cebuanos at heart. This is a good call as well for those unvaccinated individuals to get their jabs done so they would also get to enjoy the new normal.

Recently, Keanu Reeves reportedly gave members of his stunt team on “John Wick 4” brand new Rolex watches as his way of saying ‘thank you’ for making the movie a success. Photos on social media surfaced Reeves and his stunt members celebrating with their watches worn themselves.
For those who don’t know, John Wick 4 will be the fourth installment of the popular “John Wick” movie franchise which was kickstarted back in 2014. Reeves stars as John Wick, a retired assassin whose peace and quiet was disturbed when a couple of troublemakers stole his vintage car and killed his puppy, which was a last gift from his wife who succumbed to cancer. From there, Wick vows revenge and gets himself involved into the world of assassins once again.
Reeves himself dubbed the group as “The John Wick Five”, consisting of the four stuntmen that helped him in the movie and Keanu himself. Jeremy Marinas, Li Qiang, Bruce Lee Concepcion, and Dave Camarillo are the names of the lucky stuntmen who not only got to work with the amazing Hollywood figure but finished the film with brand new luxury watches.

2. OKa Tokat!
It was the first-ever horror series in the Philippine television and is just the words “Takot ako!” reversed. It ran for approximately 5 years every Tuesday night until 2002 which makes it the longest-running horror series in Philippine TV history.
With its storytelling being a mixture of horror and comedy, no wonder it was very loved. Portrayed by Agot Isidro, Rona Catacutan, a journalist is out to investigate and solve paranormal mysteries. It is also safe to say that she had Extra Sensory Perception or ESP.
The catchy theme song by Parokya ni Edgar was also a nation theme song.

3. Wag Kang Kukurap
The stories here were originally from the best-selling horror books Haunted Philippines and True Philippine Ghost Stories. This program was hosted by Dingdong Dantes in 2004.
It was also very exciting to figure out which of the photos were legit and which ones were edited every time they would also show random photos with what looked like ghostly shadows and figures, letting the viewers decide which of the photos were legit and which ones underwent the “overlay” feature of Photoshop.

4. Nginiig
The show presents real horror and paranormal stories with recounts by the victims’ interviews on the scary events that took place in the haunted venues. They are then re-enacted by actors and actresses based on the victims’ account of the spooky events.
It had three changes in hosts: first by Raymond Bagatsing, then by Jericho Rosales, and then by Hero Angeles. It’s a top-rated reality horror series that made our nights epic where it sparks personal experiences of the paranormal.

5. Midnight DJ
It was a show starring Oyo Boy Sotto who worked as a DJ/radio jock at night called New City Radio 95.5.
The DJ, together with his radio crew, helps his listeners and sets out solving unresolved deaths and other paranormal mysteries. It won local awards for best horror show and was said to be ahead of its time.

6. Spirits
A horror series with eight teens, including Red (Rayver Cruz), Gabby (Maja Salvador), Lloyd (John Wayne Sace), Liz (Serena Dalrymple), Nato (Jiro Manio), Thor (Mico Aytona), Jesse (Joseph Bitangcol), and Maya (Michelle Madrigal).
With it being very relatable because of its young cast, it was also praised for its unique storyline. All the eight teenagers have different supernatural powers which is a gamechanger. And let’s not forget the soundtrack of every 90’s kid Rivermaya’s “You’ll be Safe Here” which made it more popular.

7. ESP
A horror-drama serye led by Iza Calzado where it follows a beauty queen turned investigative journalist. Getting involved in a murder case of her boss and later on in a car accident where she lost her memory and started to see the spirits of the dead. And with the ghosts set on using her as their conduit to the mortal plane, her paranormal-filled life began.

9. Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara
Barbara and Ruth are half-sisters but one day Ruth killed herself in front of her only daughter. After that, strange things start to happen. Ruth believes that her husband will always love her sister and it was revealed that Ruth killed herself because of it.
To exact revenge on Barbara she haunts the house through the doll, Chelsea which was the star of our nightmares at that time. She hurts and kills everyone dear to Barbara until there was nobody left but Barbara.

10. Maligno
Angela a successful newscaster was raped by a crazed man who suddenly disappeared. It was later on found that she was pregnant with the devil’s child itself.
A Satanic worship or cult was revealed to be in existence for years and treats Abgela’s son as the prince or next in line to the devil they worship. The unforgettable scene on this story was the revelation that almost everyone in Angela’s life was part of the cult.
