Sage advice to make your summer worthwhile? Visit a garden!
Away from the city and the rowdy beaches, all of us are looking for some time away from places that are bustling with a little too much life. Hidden away from the hotspots of provinces, hidden away in the trees are mesmerizing places that are surrounded by the calmness of nature.

In Compostela lies the flora and fauna sanctuary Paraizzo Garden Cafe that matches the description. If you are looking for somewhere to self-reflect, then this is the place for you!
Embrace the gifts of nature
Many of us think that the natural wonder to run to during summer time would be beaches, but because beaches are popular among tourists, they can be too packed and may cause you more stress than relaxation.
An underrated place to visit during the season would be gardens. Gardens are not lacking in any sense because they are also full of life considering they are composed of lush greenery. In Paraizzo Garden Cafe, you can get a good view of what landscapes would look like should they be thriving healthily.

Frolic through the grass and find shade under the trees. You can also choose to chill inside their cabanas or sit by the pool to enable yourself to have a moment of zen you cannot get in the city.
Best part is, nature is always aesthetically pleasing. They have a lot of spots you can take good photos in. Not to mention, the natural lighting will make you look sunkissed!
Relieve stress at the poolside
Being away from the beach does not mean you cannot relax and submerge yourself in relaxing waters – with the scorching heat, we really need it!
Luckily, amidst the gardens of Paraizzo is a pool you can relax in. Have fun with your friends and family while basking under the sun and looking over the menagerie of trees below you.
Along the poolside they have umbrellas that are made out of nipa palm. Nipa palms are effective in making places look like a tropical paradise. Another one for the Instagram feed.

Coolers and little delights
With the temperatures nowadays, we all seek refreshments. Luckily, Paraizzo Garden Cafe offers you an array of foods and drinks to enjoy. They are not called a garden cafe for no reason!
Refreshments such as fruit shakes and juices can be served, with our classic well-loved Filipino food to go with it. Pork lumpiang shanghai, other pork dishes, and chicken are available as well so you could get a taste of home.

Tiny but comfortable wooden homes
If you are looking to stay a little longer, then worry not! They have kubo-inspired shelters for you to spend the night in, with some being air-conditioned, while some are not. But this is no issue, because the natural scenery that engulfs the amenities provides you a cool and natural breeze to keep you relaxed enough throughout the night.
Nature will never fail you! Its timeless beauty is here to stay. It is just waiting for you to invite yourself in.
What are you waiting for? Head to Compostela and see the beauty for yourself!

What else should we anticipate from WhatsApp?

Do you have an active sex life? Or are you a sucker for oral sex (pun intended)? If yes, you might want to lock your eyes on this article.
Photo from Unsplash
In a piece published in The Conversation, a study in the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that those who have six or more oral-sex partners in their lifetimes are more prone to developing throat cancer, particularly oropharyngeal cancer.
Oropharyngeal cancer is sweeping the West with its extensive increase. Oropharyngeal cancer affects the area of the tonsils and the back of a person’s throat. Moreover, this kind of throat cancer is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is sexually transmitted.
Photo from Unsplash
According to the study by Hisham Mehanna, about 1,000 in the UK undergo tonsillectomy for non-cancer-related reasons, and most of them engage in oral sex. However, not all of these people develop oropharyngeal cancer.
There is a theory that says most people catch HPV but are able to clear it out through and through. Unfortunately, a small population cannot thoroughly flush out the infection, possibly because of an abnormality in the immune system. There is a possibility that the virus will continue to replicate and combine with the person’s DNA which turns cells cancerous.
Mattel, a famous toy manufacturer known worldwide for its Barbie series, has come a long way since it started. The company is also known for embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

And now, Mattel partnered with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDDS) in the US as it launches its first Barbie doll with Down syndrome. With the help of NDDS and professionals in the medical field, Mattel was able to sculpt a new face and body for Barbie that properly represents women with Down syndrome.
The new doll has a shorter stature and a longer torso. It is also complete with a pendant necklace designed with three inverted V’s representing the “Lucky Few” or the 21st chromosome associated with the person with Down Syndrome.
The new doll is part of Mattel’s Barbie Fashionista series. The line also includes a Barbie with a prosthetic leg, a Barbie in a wheelchair, and more.

It is refreshing to see all children represented in a toy they have grown to love. Mattel is elevating representation by embracing diversity. Kudos Mattel!

Been procrastinating with getting your SIM card registered? Now is the perfect time to get it done!
All jokes aside, tomorrow, April 26, 2023 was supposed to be the last day of SIM registration. However, the deadline has been extended for 90 days. But even with the extension given, it is still important that we heighten its prioritization and take it seriously. Many of us know that it is a must, but we do not really understand why. Now is the time to find out and take action.
Photo from Unsplash
Here’s everything you need to know about the SIM registration, and what will happen if you fail to. Take note that some of the information listed below is subject to change.
Is it a must to have our SIM cards registered?
Yes, all new and existing SIM cards must be registered under the new SIM Registration Law.
Why should we have our SIM cards registered?
The law was implemented for our safety as consumers by supposedly combating criminal deception. Nefarious practices have been prevalent with unregistered SIM cards, such as scams and other forms of mobile and online fraud.
Photo from Unsplash
Apart from this, the deactivation upon failing to do so can cause unnecessary disruptions with the access and use of online and mobile banking, transaction authorization, identification issuance, as well as advisories.
What will happen if I don’t register my SIM card?
Because the SIM Registration Act is a law, legal consequences will be faced by those who fail or refuse to have their SIM cards registered.
First offense: Fine of no less than P100,000 but not more than P300,000
Second offense: Fine of no less than P300,000 but not more than P500,000
Third and subsequent offense: Fine of no less than P500,000 but not more than P1,000,000 for every offense thereof

Now that we have understood its purpose, we will make it easier for you to have them registered at this point in time. Prepare one (1) valid ID for identification purposes, and click the links below according to your network.

Quiccs is a multi-awarded visual artist and designer who works in several mediums. He is best known for his designs and illustrations which come to life in various merchandise, products, and brand partnerships. QUICCS EXPLAINS.
“The illustrations I designed for the Johnnie Walker Artist Series are a visual representation of how the TEQ63 character and my brand have naturally evolved and improved throughout the years.”
2023 marks the 10th year anniversary of the original TEQ63 design, an opportunity that Quiccs says he saw as a platform to thank his most loyal supporters and fans for their support.
Each bottle design features TEQ63 in vibrant layers of color, inspired by the depth of character and layers of flavor found in Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s masterful blend made up of some of the rarest and most exceptional whiskies from Scotland.
The “OG Blue” and “Dragon” bottles feature TEQ63 in streetwear designed in a vivid blue and liquid gold colorway respectively, while the “Manila Killa” bottle shows the character wearing a jacket inspired by the flag of the Philippines. Finally, the “Lightning” bottle is an e-commerce exclusive with a design inspired by Johnine Walker’s Keep Walking message to celebrate this milestone collaboration.
“For years I have dreamt of being one of the artists showcased by Johnnie Walker as I’ve seen their past Artist Series projects, both locally and internationally,”
QUICCS SHARES.
“I’m excited to imprint my own signature artistry into one of the most iconic blended Scotch whiskies in the world with this Artist Series collection.”
“We’re very excited to launch this limited edition Artist Series Collection featuring Quiccs, as his artistry and designs resonate very closely to Cebu’s art and streetwear community,”
ADDS CARLTON & CATHERINE SENIEDO, OWNERS OF SUGBO WINE.

Put your face shields back in storage because Cebu will have no Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns.
People have been in a buzz for the past few days because of reports that the Inter-Agency Task Force announced. According to them, as part of their COVID-19 response, 26 areas, including Cebu province, are placed under Alert Level 2.
Photo from Gov. Gwen Garcia Facebook Page
Because of this, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia held a press conference tackling the issue. Garcia questioned the IATF’s decision to place Cebu province under Alert Level 2 and said they have no authority.
“It’s a very confusing list. It’s either they were confused, or they just want to confuse, but we will not be part of their confusion”,
GOV. GARCIA STATED.

In line with this, the governor guaranteed that there would be no restrictions in Cebu.
IATF mandated that areas included in the Alert Level 2 must follow restrictions limiting the indoor establishments’ capacity of fully vaccinated adults to 50 percent. Meanwhile, the capacity outdoors is set to 70 percent.
Moreover, the Department of Health clarified in a statement that the Alert Level 2 status has been imposed since June 2022.

Mini heart attack? You can breathe now. But of course, as responsible people of Sugbo, let us still be careful and observe proper hygiene, such as washing our hands and disinfecting. Practicing good hygiene will not only protect us from COVID-19 but also from other diseases and viruses.
