Watch: Bea and John Lloyd in an Instagram Live Film by Antoinette Jadaone

Kilig is definitely real.

Whether they’re trying to relive their old movies, throwing their own lines, or real feelings, we don’t really know. What we know is that if you’re a fan of the OG love team John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, your kilig is definitely all over.

To what was supposed to be a tutorial on how to cook bagoong rice, fans of Bea Alonzo were in for a much bigger treat. They were able to relive the 2000s kilig of John Lloyd and Bea loveteam.

On Monday, April is 27, Bea went live on Instagram. However, she thought it was too boring to have no one to talk to. She got declined by some people, but ended up talking to someone whom we didn’t expect: ‘THE’ John Lloyd Cruz.

Their talks started with some playful rounds of Q and A, but eventually turned serious when Lloydie reflected on where he was in life. While he wad away in Cebu, he admitted how lonely he still felt.

“Pero, iba pa rin. Parang may pag-iisa pa rin. Parang ito ata ang pinakamalungkot na uri ng pag-iisa…’yung pinapalibutan ka ng mga tao,” he said.

They eventually turned into talking about the relief drives and aids amid CoVID-19. Bea has been spearheading donation drives and fundraising activities for those who were greatly affected.

John Lloyd and Bea were vocal about being reel partners, nothing more than that.

Though during the live, Lloydie tried to touch on their closeness after a back-and-forth of their most iconic lines from TV and film during the Instagram Live.

If you’ve reached this part, SURPRISE! You’re in for another treat.

The IG live of Alonzo and Cruz is an avant-garde film piece of The Unconfined Cinema. This was organized by fil critic Philbert Dy and award-winning writer, editor, and film composer Erwin Romulo. They were also revealed to be the producers of such film alonf with director Dan Villegas.

Just yesterday, April 29, it was revealed that the IG live is an experimental short film entitled “Love Team,” written and directed by local filmmaker Antoinette Jadaone.

This project is a way for the filmmakers to continue telling stories “in this unprecedented time of quarantine… when movie production is impossible.”

“Love Team,” the post reads, “is a love story—whether romantic or in its other forms—told entirely within Instagram. It is a story of our times.”

Regardless if they were only trying to read lines, relive old movies, whatever it is, we’re all hoping for them to both find their own happy ever after — John Lloyd and Bea loveteam.

If you think they were all talks, Lloydie also sang Bea a song. He sang ‘You Are My Sunshine’.

On the course of their conversation, when Lloydie was almost done performing, someone knocked on JL’s door. It was someone carrying Elias, Lloydie’s one-year-old son with Ellen Adarna.

For the first time, Lloydie introduced the boy on camera as he made Elias wave for Bea.

Regardless if they were only trying to read lines, relive old movies, whatever it is, we’re all hoping for them to both find their own happy ever after.

Cebu COVID-19 cases jump to 864; up by 233

The Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) has reported there are now 864 confirmed COVID-19 cases in entire Cebu with 233 additional cases recorded today, May 1.

There’s also an additional death recorded for today, a 58-year-old male from a municipality in the Province of Cebu. He had existing medical conditions aside from being diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. The patient died on the same date of admission.

According to DOH-7, there were 1,032 test results released today, which yielded 240 positive results with 7 of the results being repeat tests of previously confirmed positive cases.

Cebu’s tally now is at 864 with 25 recoveries and 11 deaths. Below is the latest breakdown of the confirmed cases in Cebu:

• 758 – Cebu City (+75 new, +128 BJMP)
• 25 – Mandaue City (+8 new)
• 35 – Lapu-Lapu City (+1 new)
• 29 – Cebu Province (+4 new)
• 3 – Health Workers* (+3 new)
• 14 – Repatriates/OFWs** (+14 new)
Total: 864 confirmed cases in entire Cebu

DOH-7 Official Report for today

*DOH-7 on infected Health Workers:

“We now have three health workers who have tested positive for COVID-19. They were exposed to patients who have COVID-19 in their line of work. The hospital administration has started their isolation as soon as they manifested symptoms. Investigations are being conducted by the hospital’s Infection Control Committee to ensure that all contacts inside and outside the hospital are being traced, swabbed, isolated and managed accordingly. The DOH CVHCD is one with the medical community in praying for the recovery of these brave health workers. We continue to support our health workers through the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the hope that no additional health workers will be infected with COVID-19 in the performance of their duties to serve our sick brothers and sisters.”

**DOH-7 on infected Repatriates/OFWs:

“The presence of positive cases among our repatriates after undergoing the 14-day quarantine in Manila and a COVID-19 negative test result prior to travel to Cebu and other provinces in the region needs to be validated. Additional laboratory test such as testing for the presence of antibodies may tell us if the latest positive results are active infections or previous exposures. There are two kinds of antibodies: those that appear during infection (IgM) and those that appear upon recovery (IgG). The presence of either of the two will tell us if the infection is an active one or in the case of IgG, is of previous exposure and therefore the positive RT-PCR result could be possibly viral remnants of a previous infection. However, these repatriates are already on quarantine and will complete the additional 14 days. They will be tested again prior to release after the mandatory quarantine.”

Meanwhile, in the Philippines as of May 1, 2020: the Department of Health reported 284 new confirmed cases, 41 new recoveries and 11 new deaths in the country. To date, the Philippines’ tally is 8,772 confirmed cases with 1,084 recoveries and 579 deaths.

The Department of Health is reminding us that this is a fight we can win, but we can only win if like good soldiers we do what needs to be done. We should be united in our fight against COVID-19 and not against each other, most especially our health workers who continue to selflessly serve in our health facilities even with the risk of being exposed to our common enemy.

The COVID-19 pandemic originated from Wuhan City in China that has affected nearly 200 countries and territories with more than 2.5 million confirmed cases and at least 185,000 deaths.

Pentagon releases three UFO videos taken by US navy pilots

“We are not alone” is statement that is slowly becoming true.

Aside from the global pandemic issue, we now have UFO’s on top of it.

I don’t know if you’ve seen the viral leaked videos of unidentified flying objects but the Pentagon have just released a statement telling us that the videos are legit and that they are indeed UFO’s.

The United States Department of Defense (Pentagon) has officially classified the “aerial phenomena” in the three leaked videos shot by the U.S. Navy as “unidentified”.

Watch this footage from Bloomberg:

In the videos, you can see an oblong-shaped entity dashing above water at high speed.

The first video was taken in November 2004 and the other two in November 2015 and was leaked in 2007 and 2017 and have sparked speculations for the past years.

They have only been authorized for release by the Pentagon recently to “clear up any misconceptions by the public” about their authenticity.

The existence of a U.S. $22 million-funded program which looks into reports of UFOs have also been confirmed in 2017. The program started in 2007 as part of the Defense Intelligence Agency and lasted until 2012.

Spotted: John Lloyd Cruz in Guadalupe, Cebu City asking how he can help

If you think you have gotten enough of John Lloyd Cruz during the IG live, think again.

Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz was seen along the streets of Brgy. Guadalupe, Cebu City. He was spotted talking with Brgy. Captain Michael Gacasan to ask ways on how he and Unilab could help amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Cruz, as remembered, had a talk with Bea Alonzo, her then onscreen partner, about the CoVID-19 pandemic during their IG live. He has been reportedly providing vitamins to those who are in need in Guadalupe.

According to Ellen, their son Elias stays with her in Cebu but “sleeps over his dad’s place twice a week because we co-parent.”

Smiling newborn in Cebu brings cheer to health workers amid COVID-19

A smile that could light up the whole world.

Baby Boy Jin Riley Mallapre was born into the world with a smile on his face. He greeted the world with a smile that has lifted the spirits of everyone in CebuDoc.

The heartwarming photo was taken by one of the doctors, Dr. Silver and had taken the netizens by storm. A crying baby is normal but a smiling newborn baby, well that is a blessing through an angel during these trying times.

“When I saw this cute little smile and radiant eyes today, all I saw is HOPE.” -Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III

“This is such a wonderful reminder why we do what we are doing, because we are not just fighting the pandemic for what’s left for us today, rather for what’s ahead of this baby.”- Dr. Yong Larazzabal, Cebudoc president

DOT: Foreign travel might not yet happen within the year

Department of Tourism just announced that travel outside the country even if the enhanced community quarantine is lifted will have to wait until next year.

“International travel might not happen this year. At this point in time, traveling (abroad) is but a dream” – Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Tourism Secretary

As what have been stated before, social distancing will be the new norm in the world and as with tourism. A new normal will be implemented until a vaccine for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is found.

DOT action plans includes:

1. Mandatory regular sanitation or disinfection of hotels and accommodation facilities, tourism transport services and tourism-related establishments such as meeting and exhibit venues, restaurants and spas.

2. Inspection of tourism establishments would be conducted regularly.

3. Sanitation and disinfecting devices, including personal protective equipment, will be provided for tourism workers.

4. Pursue the development of online systems that can facilitate tourism-related transactions digitally such as applications for accreditation, training and modules, and retail.

5. Advise hotels to establish systems for contactless check-in, where guests can simply get their keycards and proceed straight to their rooms.

6. Do away with breakfast buffets that require guests to use the same serving spoons to get food and instead provide bento boxes, expand their kitchens and institute better spacing of tables to allow proper social distancing.

7. Limit the capacity of tourism transportation, restaurants and tourist spots such as parks, museums and meeting/convention facilities.

We should all learn to adjust and adapt to the new norm as a means to battle this pandemic.

Fast & affordable SpaceX internet service in about 6 months

The internet may have as well saved us this quarantine. With almost everyone inside their homes, it’s the most useful tool there is for us.

With entertainment, news and work, its importance has been cemented and lucky for us, we might get to experience the new SpaceX’s satellite internet service dubbed as “Starlink” in six months.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla

Starlink is promising to bring:

  • Fast and affordable internet to any location in the world
  • Ideal for people who live in remote areas or under served markets with few options for home broadband
  • Download speeds of up to 1Gbps
  • Latency ranging between 25 to 35 milliseconds (on par with ground-based broadband services)

SpaceX’s network is designed to achieve faster speeds by using low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites.

They now have a total of 420 Starlink satellites in space currently in operation. They are planning to have as many as 40,000 satellites flying around the planet while they ferry data between ground stations and internet users below.

Starlink is scheduled to go global in 2021. Cost for the internet service was not yet announced, but they plan on supplying customers with a Starlink terminal you can easily place in your home.

The pandemic is bringing us closer to our future of robot food delivery

Robots may sooner walk among us or should I say pass by us?

The global pandemic has made people pay attention to a new technology developed, small sidewalk robots.

These are buzzing, six-wheeled, microwave-sized robot that zips along sidewalks, turns, and parks. The robots are large white cooler on wheels. These delivery robots are from a startup business Starship and have been operating on George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia campus since early last year.

This delivery robot invention is perfect for the situation we have today wherein people could get food without the risks of face-to-face interactions.

They are safe for general use since they are light and slow-moving enough that they’re unlikely to hurt anyone.

Sidewalk robot companies like Starship and Kiwibot are now rapidly building new robots and roll out service to new areas.

Robot deliveries have been operating in the US for quite a while now and have been delivering food to real customers. It won’t be a surprise to see them buzzing around our neighborhood soon.
