CCHD’S FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • Q: “Why the delay in reporting of deaths?”
    • A: Submission of death certificates from hospitals to CCHD may not always be on time as their death certificates are sometimes put on hold because of delay in the payment of bills.
  • Q: “Why wait for death certificates?”
    • A: As per protocol, COVID-related deaths are placed on the official list as soon as a death certificate is duly issued. It will be prudent on the part of government to base its reporting on official documents.
  • Q: “Why is the data being reported by your department different from the report by DOH?”
    • A: The report from DOH is based on the linelist (results) given by laboratories. The CCHD sanitizes that list. After thorough verification of our contact tracing team, CCHD culls out those that are not from the city and also extract those that are double entries. The data that CCHD presents are actual cases traced and identified by the city’s frontliners.

Sugboanons, let’s do our part. Don’t leave your homes unless necessary, practice good hygiene, get tested when advised by the local authorities, and follow the protocols.

Most of the drivers already know or familiar with the place; otherwise, find a driver who does. Average fare is ₱70 per head per way (minimum of 2 persons).

NOTE: This is not yet the best time to hike and camp especially that Cebu City is still under ECQ. We advise to include this destination in your #KatkatGoals checklist for now and visit once the regulations have been lifted.

Kawasan, Canyoonering, Whale Shark Watching may reopen amid MGCQ

With our cancelled trips for summer and vacay due to lockdown, what we’ve always been looking forward to is the reopening of our tourism. Good news, Cebuanos!

The Provincial Capitol of Cebu is already preparing for the reopening of the tourism industry in Cebu. This is in lieu to the preparation as the province shifts to Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

Tourism activities in the countryside of Cebu may re-open soon as the province shifts to MGCQ this July. These activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Canyoneering
  • Whale Shark Watching
  • Thresher Shark Watching

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, in a virtual press conference with the members of the Interagency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID), said that the province will be focusing on reopening the tourism industry.

“Since tourism activities have been halted, there are many who are out of work,”

– Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia

The Tourism of Cebu has been in hault die to the pandemic, leaving those who have been depending on tourism in a struggle during this crisis.

Garcia had said that instead of viewing tourism as a leisure activity, which likes are being discouraged due to the threat of COVID-19, the provincial government views tourism as an economic driver.

“We will focus now on the resumption of tourism activities in many of our towns, such as whale watching, canyoneering, thresher shark watching, and a lot of other activities,”

– Governor Garcia

The tourist spots in Cebu province are still closed as of this writing. The Cebu Governor has yet to release the official guidelines.

Produced by Mavx Productions, this film starred by Pepe Herrera, Paolo Contis, Jerald Napoles, and Jelson Bay really deserves this spot. With a guaranteed laugh and suspense, it definitely deserves to land a spot, even in the Top 10.

Kanye West releases Yeezy Foam Runner

0

Kanye West has finally released his new YEEZY foam runner on June 27, 2020.

For only 75USD, approximately P3,750, you are set to set your hands and foot on this pair of “Yeezy Crocs.”

Kanye West has been teasing us for months about this release and at last, we are days away from the #WESTDAYEVER rollout.

This slip-on shoes were dropped on the YEEZY SUPPLY website. However, their orders were placed on the “waiting room.” Thereafter, they were treated with an affordable pair of Yeezy. What a treat, truly!

According to reports, Yeezy Foam Runner is made from algae. The one-piece design expresses lattice segments and cut-out side portions. Moving lower the sole section of the shoe is sculpted to create a seamless transition from the upper and resembles the look of the midsole found on the adidas YEEZY BOOST 700.

As of writing, YEEZY Foam Runners are sold out. Stay tuned for their restock. Keep yourselves posted, hmmm?

Apple, Google team up on COVID-19 contact tracing for iPhone, Android devices

With the continuous spike and scare of the coronavirus pandemic, more and more businessed have been contributing to the world’s combat against this unseen enemy.

In May, both Apple and Google have launched developer tools (called APIs) that will “enable interoperability between Android and iOS devices using apps from public health authorities.”

Apple also mentioned that together with Google, they will be launching the apps on iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store.

HOW THIS WORKS

If you have a phone and you have crossed paths with someone who has tested positive of coronavirus, you will be alerted.

Though Google won’t be collecting personally identifiable information or user location data and “people who test positive are not identified to other users Google or Apple.”

The data will “only be used for contact tracing by public health authorities for COVID-19 pandemic management” Google says.

Not only will this help us track those who have been in contact of those who tested positive, we will also be able to stop the spread within our own household.

Please be reminded, however, that you need to update your OS to the latest version for this tracker to be seen on your mobile device.

HOW TO CHECK

(For ANDROID)

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select ‘Google’ option
  3. Click on COVID-19 Exposure Notifications

(For iOS)

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click Privacy.
  3. Choose Health.
  4. Tap COVID-19 Exposure Logging

With this feature, if you have been in contact with someone infected with COVID-19, your phone will notify you. You won’t see the name of the infected person, or when or where it happened, only that you are now at risk and should probably think about getting checked out and limiting your social interactions. Apple or Google will not access personally identifiable information.

Uniqlo releases Manga-indebted Graphic Tees

0

A different taste for summer 2020 is on the works for Uniqlo.

Uniqlo’s UT x ‘Jump’ collaboration introduces a series of shirts with manga designs from Weekly Young Jump and Ribon. From GeGeGe no Kitaro and Chibi Maruko-chan to Kingdom and Tokyo Ghoul, this series is an expansive showcase of contemporary and classic titles.

I personally have my own Uniqlo UT collection with Elmo on print. It didn’t disappoint. Therefore, this new collection is also something we all should look forward too.

This newest effort delivers an expansive slate of stylized imagery. With different manga characters and interpretations, we can’t wait for July 6 as this newest collection will hit their stores.
