WHAT TO EXPECT

Find your way to the Cebu Yacht Club located behind Island Central Mall in Ibo, Lapu Lapu City to meet the Pleasure Yacht Jokai 1, 72-foot (22-meter) catamaran that will be your afternoons rendezvous. Climb aboard and find a comfortable spot, either on the main deck, sky deck or by the bar area.

As the yacht starts to cruise, dance to the upbeat music from Cebu Salsa Club’s DJ. Enjoy your cocktails and dinner buffet. Feel the warm breeze on your face and enjoy your much needed break out in the open on a yacht. Strike a pose with their photographer on board.

After cruising under the 2 iconic bridges of Mactan to SRP, the yacht will head back to Cebu Yacht Club. The 240-minute cruise will end and will leave you with a positive wonderful rejuvenated feeling.

Boarding time starts at 2:00pm in Cebu Yacht Club located at the far right side of Mactan Wharf. Cruise will start on time at exactly 3:00pm and we will not wait for late comers. No outside food and drinks are allowed on board.

On Thursday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of February 4, 2021.

Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 259 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 134 new recoveries, and 4 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 27,436, while the active cases rose to 3,212 (from 3,092).

Cebu’s recovery rate is now at 83.10%.

Exact location: Lower Anongan, Madredejos, Alegria, Southern Cebu — approx. 2 hours away from Cebu City.

BY BUS: Find your way to the Cebu South Bus Terminal (as of writing, stationed at Lantaw SRP). In the terminal, ride a bus bound for Bato via Barili (do not confuse with Bato via Oslob). The sign of the resort can easily be spotted by the side of the road. Just inform the driver to drop you off at Rio Beach Resort in Alegria.

Dreaming of a pool or beach getaway? Well, there’s another budding resort in Catmon that is sure to satisfy your itch for a badly needed swim.

La Casa de Playa is a newly opened resort in Catmon. Although still a newbie, the resort is already attracting a lot of locals and reservations for parties and gatherings (with safety protocols of course).

The resort’s main attraction is an infinity pool that already encroaches the shoreline, making the waves slap into the pool. Scattered all throughout the resort are coconut trees, giving it an authentic tropical vibes. La Casa de Playa also accepts exclusive reservations.

Other amenities in the resort include outdoor showers, gazebo and cottages, and a parking lot. The resort is still in its final phase of construction.

Of course, with such a striking beauty like that, it’s definitely not an easy place to reach. It requires travelers to take long drives from the city just to be able to witness the spectacle it holds.

With Boljoon being a distant town in the south that’s far from the city, the journey is more refreshing than it is taxing due to the wonderful sights on the way to the municipality. The roads in Boljoon have wonderful views of the sea and towering pine trees that line the road to the summit.

Upon arrival to the jump off point, travelers will already be greeted by the soothing winds of the mountains and a panoramic view of every natural formation present in Boljoon. At its peak, Ablayan may be considered more of a natural park than a trekking ground because of the low rolling terrains and gentle slopes.

TRAVEL TIPS:

  • Ablayan Peak is very windy and at the same time very hot, especially between 11 AM to 3 PM. Make sure to bring adequate water so you won’t be dehydrated.
  • Bring some food if you decide to stay longer since you can’t find a Sari-Sari store nearby.
  • You can put on some sunblock as well if you don’t want to get sunburnt.
  • If you decide to stay overnight, make sure to bring all the necessary things you need for an overnight stay.

Exact location: Brgy. Upper Bacerril, Ablayan Peak, Boljoon, Southern Cebu — approx. 3 hours away from Cebu City.

BY BUS: Take a Bus bound for Boljoon from the South Bus Terminal. Ask the Bus conductor to drop you off at the Boljoon public market. From there, you’ll be seeing a bunch of motorcycle drivers just in front of the market. Hire a motorcycle going to the jump-off area of the Ablayan Peak for only PHP 150.00 for every motorcycle and good for 2 people.

To those who do not know, Ube-Cheese Pandesal is basically an ube halaya-flavored pandesal filled with cheese. Hence, we all couldn’t deny that this innovative take on our classic Pinoy Pandesal is momentous.

Though when know that it could be quite difficult to score the best one yet, we are giving you one of the best. I must say, they have Ube-r sa sarap Ube Cheese Pandesal, at Chef Jade Kitchen.

Chef Jade Saducas is an award-winning Cebuano Chef who has taken this Ube Cheese Pandesal a notch higher than those that are already in the market. Her ube pandesals are ube-rloaded with cheese making it melt it your mouth.

But, Chef Jade’s kitchen do not only take pride in their current Ube Cheese Pandesal because they offer more like the Special Ube Ensaymada, Flan Vanille, and assorted meat rolls.

As of writing, Chef Jade Kitchen doesn’t have a physical store. But you can conveniently order online and have them delivered anywhere in Cebu.
