SNORKELING AND DIVING

Being an exclusive island, one of the coolest things you can do once you’re in Sumilon is to visit the marine life underwater. Either you bring your own snorkeling and diving gear or rent in the resort, snorkeling and diving is possible all around the sandbar.

The Marine Sanctuary is the best spot to snorkel around to sight different types of fishes, reefs, corals and many more. If you’re into diving, it is best to inquire Bluewater Resort to organize and diving activities where they are able to organize trips to up to 5 different sites.

SUMILON’S SHIFTING SANDBAR

For those who don’t know, one amazing fact of Sumilon sandbar is that it is always shifting, meaning that it moves and stretches at a direction constantly. Because of the monsoons, tropical rain and tide patterns cause the sandbar to shift.

With this shifting, the sand can reach up to the Southernmost tip. Tourists surely have a reason

SUMILON DAY PASS

Before going to the resort, if you are just planning to visit for a day in the island, it is highly suggested that you secure a day-pass for the island from Bluewater Sumilon Day Pass via Klook.

The day-pass entitles the buyer to use Bluewater’s facilities which includes a private beach, infinity pool, lagoon, restaurant and snorkeling trips.

Eligible Filipino Citizens Now Qualify for Visa-Free Travel to Canada

The Embassy of Canada to the Philippines has announced on its Twitter account that the Philippines has been added to the electronic travel authorization (eTA) program.

Photo from Unsplash

What does this mean? Filipino citizens with Canadian visas in the last ten years or those with valid United States non-immigrant visas can now apply for an eTA. The eTA can be used to travel to Canada by air instead of a visa.

Visa-free air travel is a faster, easier, and cheaper option when visiting Canada for up to 6 months for business or leisure. However, travelers who are not eligible for eTA or people who travel by car, bus, train, and boat will have to show their visitor visa.

Toronto, Canada | Photo from Unsplash

What is eTA?

eTA is a digital travel document that travelers need to present to be able to fly to Canada. These travelers are those who are exempted from presenting their visas.

To apply for eTA, you will need a valid passport, a credit card, an email address, and access to the internet. The fee for the application is CAN$7.

To know whether or not you can apply for eTA, you can visit Canada.ca/etA. You can also learn how to apply for eTA on the same link.

According to the Minister of IRCC, Hon. Sean Fraser, including the Philippines in the eTA means more Filipinos can visit and enjoy Canada without the hassle of getting a visa. It will increase travel, tourism, and economic benefits.

Just what makes this cave so majestic? Let us dig deeper into it (…literally)!

Crystal blue spring water

The spring waters of Busay Spring and Cave are not only visually captivating but also boast mineral-rich and potable qualities.

These pristine waters, flowing through the cave system, have played a vital role in the formation of the magnificent stalactites and stalagmites found inside.

Despite the continuous growth of these formations, the cleanliness and purity of the water remain unaffected.

The cave’s natural filtration system ensures that impurities are naturally removed, resulting in crystal-clear and safe waters.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of the cave and take a dip in these spring waters, enjoying both their allure and their refreshing and untainted nature.

The intricate formation of the cave

Once you venture into the cave, you can be enchanted by the mesmerizing formations of stalactites and stalagmites which we have mentioned before.

Formed for over thousands of years, stalactites and stalagmites are stunning geological formations found within caves, and these are abundant in Busay Spring and Cave.

Photo from Busay Spring And Cave Facebook Page

Stalactites hang gracefully from the cave ceilings, formed by mineral-rich water dripping down over thousands of years, creating icicle-like formations.

Opposite from them, stalagmites rise majestically from the cave floor, growing upward as mineral deposits accumulate from the ground.

As you explore the cave, you can’t help but be captivated by the awe-inspiring sight of stalactites and stalagmites, a testament to the passage of time and the remarkable forces of nature at work.

For those seeking a refreshing escape, take a dip in the crystal blue waters of Busay Spring. You can submerge yourself in the cool, pristine waters as you marvel at the sheer majesty of this underground paradise.

Busay Spring and Cave are not just a feast for the eyes but also provide a unique glimpse into the wonders of the natural world. Embark on an adventure to this enchanting destination and discover the hidden treasures that await within its depths.

Bigger & Better: Tales & Feelings to open Second Branch at the Amber Hotel in 2023

Tales & Feelings has been blessing the Cebuano palate since 2021. The restaurant has been providing fantastic food and service to loyal patrons for almost two years. And to further let Cebuanos experience an elevated dining experience, Tales & Feelings announces its plans to open a second branch this 2023.

A Bigger and Better Place for More Culinary Adventures

The new flagship restaurant can accommodate up to 100 diners. But that’s not all; the new space will be complete with two private rooms, a fully stocked bar, and an extensive wine cellar. In addition, they also have a chef’s counter that’s exclusive for tasting menus.

Tales & Feelings’ executive chef, Chef Elso Almodiel III, and the restaurant’s core team will run the new branch.

According to the owners of Tales & Feelings, Julian and Kim Prosevicius, they wanted to elevate the diners’ dining experience. The new location’s menu will also focus on the art of fine dining as they introduce and even extensive culinary adventures to patrons.

Moreover, they also headed to their guests’ requests for a bigger space to accommodate them and a proper parking space.

“We are always eager to learn and strive for new things every day. Working in a small space, there is a ceiling to our capabilities, and we are unable to show our full potential. Guests have been asking for a bigger space to accommodate their requests, proper parking, and facilities that complement the quality of our food and service”, Kim Prosevicius, on why they will open a new branch.”

Julian Prisevicius then added that opening their flagship restaurant is a dream come true for them.

“It’s a testament to the passion and dedication we pour into every dish we create. We are honored to bring Tales & Feelings to a wider audience and continue our commitment to culinary excellence.”

The flagship restaurant is set to open this 2023 at the much anticipated Amber Hotel located at the intersection of Capitol, Don Gil Garcia St, and Don Julio Llorente St. in Cebu City.

Don’t forget to follow Tales & Feelings on Facebook and Instagram for more information and updates. Get keen!
