This July, travel dreams are taking flight once again,  and they’re coming in hot, sunny, and shockingly affordable.

As Sunlight Air celebrates its 6th anniversary, the boutique airline is bringing its Grand Travel Fest (GTF) back to where the sun meets the sea: Cebu. From July 25 to 27, the bustling Activity Center at Ayala Center Cebu will be transformed into a hub of wanderlust, exclusive deals, and unbeatable travel experiences, all thanks to the airline’s annual signature expo event.

And the highlight? One-way base fares for as low as PHP 8 from Cebu to Sunlight Air’s top destinations. Yes, you read that right: eight pesos.

A Travel Celebration Years in the Making

The Grand Travel Fest isn’t just another promo event, it’s a full-on celebration of travel, adventure, and the continued rise of a proudly Filipino carrier.

With co-presenters Mactan Cebu International Airport and Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation, and supported by partners like DITO Business, BPI, and GCash, the event promises more than just ticket discounts. It’s a curated experience that gives Filipinos the chance to explore the country, one island at a time.

Following a successful run in Clark earlier this year, this edition of the GTF is going big on value-packed experiences through its Fly + Stay + Dine packages. Guests can snag exclusive deals with some of the country’s top hotels and resorts, including:

• Discovery Primea and Coro Hotel in Makati

• The Bayleaf Intramuros, Manila

• Apsaras Tribe and Reside Siargao, Siargao

• Sunburn Suites & Rooftop Bar, Coron

• Harolds Hotel, Cebu

• And many more idyllic hideaways

All Roads Lead to the Sky And The Islands

Whether you’re jetting off to surf in Siargao or sipping cocktails in Coron, GTF Cebu is offering one-way base fares starting at PHP 488 for select routes, with PHP 8 fares exclusive to all flights originating from Cebu.

And it doesn’t stop there. BPI cardholders enjoy perks like:

• Up to 20% off on Value & Plus fares

• Free 10kg baggage on select Lite fares

• 0% interest installment plans for up to 3 months

Prefer using GCash? You’ll get 15% off your Value or Plus fare when booking at the event.

More Than a Fair, It’s a Festival

Aside from flight deals, GTF Cebu will feature a wide lineup of exhibitors offering discounts and giveaways. Expect offers like:

• Up to 60% off at Fersal Hotel Group properties across Manila, Cebu, and Palawan

• Up to 50% off at Sunlight Hotels & Resorts including Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort in Culion

• 20% off on domestic and international Starr travel insurance

It’s not just a sales event, it’s a full-circle experience for planning, booking, and protecting your next adventure.

Your Gateway to Island-Hopping Bliss

Sunlight Air continues to solidify its role as one of the Philippines’ most customer-focused carriers, offering seamless experiences from the first click to your final destination. With a fleet of reliable ATR 72-500 aircraft, the airline flies to beloved island destinations such as Boracay, Coron, and Siargao, while ensuring comfort and service at every step.

Makeup Trends For Cebuano Men 2025

In 2025, Cebuano male makeup trends reflect a quiet revolution where one blends tropical practicality, K-beauty minimalism, and a growing cultural acceptance of self-expression. The focus is on enhancing natural features, evening out skin tone, and concealing imperfections through lightweight, breathable products. This movement isn’t about transformation, it’s about refinement. Here’s how Cebuano men are mastering the art of looking makeup-free while wearing it.

Sun Protection

Sunscreen has evolved into a cosmetic staple. The CAMOU Mattifying Sun Stick offers SPF 50 protection with oil control and a non-greasy, no-white-cast finish that is perfect for Cebu’s tropical heat. Its popularity reflects a broader cultural shift toward skincare as self-care.

Natural Glow Through Skin Tinting

Skin tints and BB creams are favored for their ability to deliver a fresh, dewy finish without the heaviness of traditional foundation. Brands like STROKES Cosmetics and Issy & Co. offer products tailored for Filipino skin tones and Cebu’s humid climate. The Active Skin Tint by STROKES and True Flex Powder Foundation by Issy & Co. are top picks for their oil control, breathable texture, and SPF protection.

Tinted Lippies

Lip tints are becoming essentials in Cebuano men’s grooming kits. The aim is a hydrated, healthy look and never glossy or dramatic. Watsons Philippines recommends nude or light pink tints for men, and ROMAND.Ph’s Juicy Lasting Tint is a standout for its buildable color and long wear

Effortless Brows on Fleek

Defined yet natural brows are a cornerstone of the Cebuano grooming aesthetic. Tools like BROWIT Phils Brow Pen and Issy & Co.’s Brow Pencil Trio allow for subtle shaping that enhances facial structure without looking overdone. The goal is to frame the face with soft precision, not bold statements.

Contouring

The “Brontour” trend is a bronzer-contour hybrid that is gaining traction for subtle sculpting. Products like STROKES Sculpting Stick help enhance cheekbones and jawlines naturally, without harsh lines. This technique adds depth while maintaining a clean, masculine look.

Additional Accessory

Hair remains a key canvas for male self-expression. Water-based pomades and texture sprays are products that offer control and shine without stiffness, aligning with Cebuano preferences for effortless refinement.

Local Brand Advocacy

Retailers like Watsons Philippines are actively promoting male grooming through curated kits and pop culture tie-ins such as their Superman-themed launch in Cebu. These campaigns target Gen Z and young professionals, emphasizing confidence, accessibility, and clean grooming.

Market Insights & Cultural Shifts

The male cosmetics market is booming globally, with a projected CAGR of 9.4% from 2023 to 2033. In the Philippines, this growth is mirrored by increasing demand for gender-neutral, minimalist products. Cebuano men are embracing makeup as a tool for self-care and subtle enhancement, inspired by influencers like Bretman Rock and guided by experts such as Myckee Arcano.

So if you’d like to enhance your appearance through makeup, then come and try these makeup trends!

Moalboal’s Rocky Gateway

0

Panagsama Boulder Beach in Moalboal, Cebu might surprise first-time visitors expecting soft, powdery sand. Instead, this shoreline is covered in smooth rocks and coral pieces, earning it the name “Boulder Beach.” But there’s a story behind the stones.

Photo from Shaznay Rhode
Photo from Shaznay Rhode
Photo from Shaznay Rhode

In 1984, a powerful typhoon struck Moalboal and swept away much of Panagsama’s sandy beach. What remained was a rocky shoreline, shaped by nature and time. Though it may not be ideal for lounging, these boulders now mark the start of one of the best underwater experiences in the Philippines.

No Sand, No Problem

Just a few steps from shore, the seafloor drops into a colorful coral wall full of marine life. Thousands of sardines swim here year-round, along with turtles and vibrant reef fish. Whether you’re snorkeling or diving, the waters of Panagsama offer an unforgettable glimpse into Moalboal’s rich underwater world.

There are small dive shops, cafés, and resorts along the coast, perfect for resting after a swim. So while Panagsama may not have soft sand, it offers something far more unique: a rugged beach with a wild history and a sea full of wonders.

By Car: Navigate Panagsama Beach, Moalboal via Waze or Google Maps.

Fall for Free at Panas Falls

No entrance fees. No crowds. Just nature at its best.

Photo from Google Maps
Photo from Google Maps

In the upland village of Barangay Panas, Panas Falls is one of Consolacion’s lesser-known treasures. It’s the kind of place you won’t find in packaged tours or heavily filtered Instagram posts but that’s exactly the appeal.

Photo from Hero Arigo
Photo from Hero Arigo
Photo from Hero Arigo

Here, the water flows gently over layered rock, forming shallow pools perfect for a quick dip or a slow afternoon of doing absolutely nothing. It’s not a towering cascade, but it has something else: peace. No fences, no cement paths, and most importantly, no entrance fee. Just a footpath, a short hike, and a few minutes of stillness waiting for you at the end.

Things to Keep in Mind

Before heading to Panas Falls, keep in mind that the place is completely natural and unmanaged, there are no stores, cottages, or lifeguards, so be sure to bring your own food and water. The water is refreshingly cold, even on hot days, and the area stays quiet, especially on weekdays. Since no one’s there to clean up, take responsibility for your trash and leave the place as clean as you found it.

How To Get There?

Location: Barangay Panas, Consolacion, Cebu

By Private Car: From Cebu City, drive north to Consolacion.Once you reach SM Consolacion, head inland toward Barangay Panas. The road going up is partly paved but narrow in some spots. Be ready for rough patches. You can park near the start of the foot trail and walk the rest of the way.

By Commute: Ride a jeep or bus to SM Consolacion. From there, take a habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) and ask to be dropped off at Panas Falls. The trail isn’t long, but wear proper shoes—it can get slippery, especially after rain.

Panas Falls isn’t about spectacle. It’s about stillness. It’s for people who don’t mind getting a bit of mud on their shoes for the sake of fresh air, cold water, and a quiet hour away from the city.

If you’re in Consolacion or nearby, and you feel like being somewhere with no noise but the water and wind, try Panas Falls. You don’t need a plan. Just go.

Wellness Meets Nature

Outdoor yoga is experiencing a global resurgence, and the Philippines is no exception. From beaches to mountaintops, parks to heritage sites, yogis are reclaiming nature as their studio. Outdoor yoga removes barriers like studio fees and space limitations. Parks, beaches, and view decks become open-air sanctuaries for movement and mindfulness. Platforms like TikTok and Facebook have helped collectives like Dawata Wellness and YogaHub Cebu organize events, share schedules, and build inclusive yoga communities.

Why It’s Booming

Practicing in nature reduces stress, anxiety, and depression by tapping into biophilia which is our connection to the natural world. The fresh air improves lung function and cardiovascular health; sunlight boosts vitamin D and serotonin levels. In natural settings, it enhances focus, emotional resilience, and creative thinking. The activity of outdoor yoga fosters social connection and shared experience, especially in group settings like retreats or public classes

THERE’S HISTORY IN EVERY TOUCH—HERE’S WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE PAMPERED AT TENDERBODY

There’s something heartwarming about places that carry stories. Some cafés were born from passion, and some resorts started with a dream. But Tenderbody Therapeutic Massage & Spa? This one was born out of love, literally.

This isn’t your usual spa story. The Tenderbody branch in Raintree used to be the Sunday afternoon tambayan of the current owner’s parents. It was their go-to date spot; massage first, maybe dinner after. The Tamiya branch in Lapu-Lapu City was the couple’s go-to for their weekday dates. Years later, after the mother passed away, the father bought the spa out of pure sentimentality. “This is where our love grew,” he must’ve thought. He kept the name, Tenderbody, a mouthful but heartfelt, and turned it into something more. When he too passed away, the responsibility (and the legacy) was passed on to their child, who now continues to run the business with the same love it was built on.

Now with three branches, Tamiya and two in Raintree Mall, Tenderbody isn’t just a spa. It’s a space filled with stories, family ties, and a lot of warm oil.

Changing the Spa Narrative, One Honest Massage at a Time

Let’s address the elephant in the room. When people hear “spa” in Cebu, there’s unfortunately still that lingering assumption that services go beyond what’s on the menu. Tenderbody Therapeutic Massage & Spa wants to end that.

This is a clean spa. No extras, no shady business, just good old-fashioned hilot and healing hands. All therapists are certified with NC-II training. More than that, they’re mothers, breadwinners, grandmothers, and even survivors of abuse. Each massage is given not just with skill but with strength, respect, and dignity.

“It’s not easy to touch other people’s bodies, especially when it’s sore. It’s not for everyone. And we want to show everyone that Cebu has clean spas”

“I was never an entrepreneur,” she added. “I just decided to continue this for the love my parents had.” And that love is felt in every aspect of Tenderbody Therapeutic Massage & Spa, from the way the therapists are respected and empowered, to how returning customers feel like old friends. It’s not just a business; it’s a living tribute to love, healing, and human connection.

Must-Try Services

Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, here are our personal picks and client faves:

Tenderbody Signature Massage (2 hours)

A blend of Swedish massage, pressure point work, and stretching. It’s their gold standard.

Swedish Massage (best-seller!)

Oil-based with long, relaxing strokes. Perfect for muscle knots and tired souls.

Pinoy Hilot

Old-school, warm oil massage just like how our lola’s used to do it by heating an oil in the old-fashioned way and massaging it onto our backs.

Hot Stone Massage

Great for “frozen shoulders” and those who just want to melt into bed.

Foot Massage (Raintree branch best-seller)

Targets pressure points. Ideal after a long day of walking or standing.

Aromatherapy Massage (Tamiya’s favorite)

Perfect for bodybuilders, athletes, and anyone who needs serious muscle work.

Ventosa

A combination of cupping therapy and a full body massage—relaxing and detoxifying.

Other services also include facials, paraffin treatments, and waxing (Raintree branch exclusive). Products used are from NU Skin Manila, and they only use oils and tools they trust.

Something New: Gift Certificates and Loyalty Cards

As of June 1, 2025, Tenderbody launched Gift Certificates, the greatest gift of relaxation for friends and family who might not usually treat themselves. These GCs are valid for 6 months and serve as a lovely introduction to the spa.

They also have a Loyalty Card now! For regulars, it’s a fun way to earn a free massage. Every visit gets you closer to that reward and lets you know that loyalty does pay off.

We Got Massaged, Ventosa’d, and Almost Didn’t Want to Leave

We came to Tenderbody Therapeutic Massage & Spa out of curiosity, and left feeling like warm, happy marshmallows. That’s the best way to describe the experience, light, relaxed, and stress-free.

Joshua, our social media manager, booked a foot massage and almost didn’t make it past the first 20 minutes as he got *that* relaxed. He had to fight off sleep just to enjoy the full session. Grace, our head of sales, wasn’t as resistant. She chose the hot stone massage and completely knocked out mid-session. She woke up dazed, dreamy, and swore she’s never felt that kind of calm in weeks.

Cody, our ever-game team manager, tried the head and full-body massage. He was giggling half the time as it turns out he’s a little ticklish, but even he admitted he’d do it again in a heartbeat. As for me, I went all in with the ventosa massage, a combination of cupping therapy and full-body massage. Every cup, every glide, every release of pressure felt like someone carefully untying the knots in my soul, and inside every muscle on my back!

What made it all better was the space itself. The moment you step in, you’re greeted with the soothing scent of peppermint, dim lighting, calm music, and a peaceful energy that makes your brain stop racing. It’s the kind of place where your shoulders automatically drop, your phone stays in your bag, and your only task is to breathe and let go.

We’ve been to quite a few massage spots around Cebu, but Tenderbody stands out. There’s no gimmick here, just sincere service, skilled hands, and an atmosphere built for healing. It’s a spa with heart, and you can genuinely feel it from the moment you lie down.

So yes, we got massaged, ventosa’d, and pampered. If you’re overdue for a good reset, trust us, this is the place to go.
