While most of us grew up watching Disney Channel or Nickelodeon, some grew up with National Geographic. Our interest in animals, geography, and more when we were kids was all thanks to NatGeo and NatGeo Wild.

However, we must bid adieu to our childhood once again as Disney ends its broadcasting TV channels in Southeast Asia, such as Star Movies, StarWorld, National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Channel Wild, Star Chinese Channel, and Star Chinese Movies.
The channels were first announced to be halted in June 2023, which became effective on October 1, 2023.
But worry not. These channels are still available for Disney+ or Disney+ Hotstar subscribers.

These channels shaped our childhood through cable TV, and the memories of us sitting in front of the TV watching lion cubs wrestle each other on NatGeo Wild will always be one of the best to reminisce.
Did you get your hands on the new iPhone 15 yet? Is your phone acting and heating up? Apple might just have revealed the real culprit for the issues.
Photo from Unsplash
Since the iPhone 15 was officially released for purchase, users have been coming forward about heating issues. Many users who bought the iPhone 15 revealed that their phones would become so hot that it is almost untouchable.
Many people thought it was because of the phone’s new titanium enclosure. However, Apple states that the heating issues are not because of the titanium design. The real culprits are bugs from apps. In addition, there is also a bug in IOS.
Apple has issued a software update to address the heating issue. The update is the anticipated iOS 17.

Moreover, Apple stated on its website that the phones may get warmer when they are set from backup, wirelessly charging, using apps with heavy graphics, and watching high-quality videos.

It is indeed a historical move for Taiwan as its president launched the first domestically-made submarine on the island. The submarine was launched for testing last Thursday, September 28, 2023, at a Kaohsiung port.
Photo from NBC News
“In the past, a domestic made submarine was considered impossible, but today, a submarine designed and built by our countrymen is in front of you,”
President Tsai Ing-wen stated during the launching ceremony. He also added that it would be the “concrete realization” of their resolution to protect Taiwan.
However, constructing the submarine was “torturous,” according to the head of Taiwan’s CSBC Corporation, Cheng Wen-lon.
Photo from NBC News
The submarine is named Hai Kun, which translates to Sea Kun. The name is inspired by a fish in Chinese literature called “Kun.” After seven years of design and construction, Hai Kun’s prototype will be ready for testing in the harbor. Once it passes, it will be tested out in the ocean.
The submarine will be turned over to the Military only if it passes the harbor and ocean-faring tests. The target date for the submarine’s deployment is 2027. However, by that year, they will also deploy another domestically-made submarine.

Once deemed a complete success, Hai Kun will be Taiwan’s breakthrough.
