An online gambling website called Casino.org is willing to pay gamers $2000 just to play The Sims. According to Casino.org, the contest adds to the excitement after an expansion pack is rumored to release during the fall.
“…We’re putting on a contest to really get your sim-self excited about. You can now get paid $2000 to play The Sims,”
Casino.org said during a press release.

What’s the catch? Nothing; the winner of the contest just needs to download the most current version of the game and play it as usual.
After that, the winner has to get the High School Years expansion pack (money used to purchase will be reimbursed in addition to the prize money). Moreover, the winner will be asked whether to become a “Simfluencer” or “Video Game Streamer” in the expansion pack. The winner must report their progress until they reach “Mega Simfluencer” or “Pro-Gamer.”
Interested contestants need to apply for the contest through this link. For detailed information, you can head to Casino.org’s official website.

Casino.org also emphasized that they are not affiliated with The Sims in “any capacity.
When the legendary comedians of the Philippines passed on to heaven, our childhood seemed to have passed with them.
Priceless memories of laughing at Redford White and Babalu’s arguments or Dolphy’s witty comments until we cry joyfully— now that’s something we miss the most. We wish we could witness our favorite legendary comedians perform on stage again.
Lucky for us, Showtime’s Vhong, Teddy, and Jug’s have made it their mission to pay homage to the legendary comedians during the noon-time show’s Magpasikat segment.
The three hosts used Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform their faces into the dearly missed Red Ford White, Babalu, and Dolphy. They also featured other comedians such as Chichay, Panchito, Tintoy, Ben Tisoy, Richie D’Horsey, Noel “Ungga” Ayala, and many more.
The show’s audience, or “madlang pipol,” was touched by their theme for this year’s magpasikat.
“Fourteen years na ang It’s Showtime, parang lahat nagawa na natin dito so para sa amin, nag-isip kami. Ano pa ba yung puwede nating ipakita? Kaya naman naisip ng team namin na gawin ang AI dahil nauuso siya ngayon, pero ang paggamit po ng AI ay dapat ginagamit po yan sa tama, hindi po sa pangloloko,”
Said Vhong Navarro.
Jugs, Teddy, and Vhong also invited veteran actress Nova Villa on stage to perform with them. Nova has worked with all the comedians who have passed away. She emotionally reminisced her memories with them, which made many people cry, including the other show hosts.

Are you ready for the Lapu-Lapu Fiesta 2023? We know we are!
A lot of people made the switch, especially since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020 when people were trying out new things to improve their health and lifestyle, some of which spent their time in isolation to research different topics, and this one definitely takes one of the top spots.
Albeit not a new concept, veganism received a larger following not only because of the people’s necessity to prioritize their health in a way they see perfectly fit with their goals but also because of certain causes like ending animal cruelty and having a fair contribution to environmental wellness.
Of course, this also trickled down to the Filipino mainstream, and gladly enough, the market demand has allowed for local shops to open that purely cater to vegans. If you are one, you can take a break from having to prepare your meals every single day now because we are listing the top 6 pure vegan restaurants in metro Cebu.
1. Vegan Island Restaurant
If you grew up Filipino, then you already know how meat is always the heart of most of our local dishes. It’s a hard compromise to have to let go of this to sustain yourself with something that is in line with your principles and diet and, at the same time, something that is easy and affordable to make. You don’t have to make that compromise anymore with Vegan Island Restaurant.

They have sizzling tofu sisig on the menu for just Php 220. Need something creamy? You can savor their Bicol Express for just Php 195. Nostalgic for previous usual meals. Both their humba and caldereta are for Php 220 only.
For affordable prices, you can get a taste of home with Vegan Island Restaurant!

2. Eden’s Vegan Food Hub
Some people say that they want to try at least being vegan to see if they want to commit to it, but the journey often ends quicker than expected and before they even see what it’s truly like because of accessibility and affordability issues. Giving people the option to solve these problems, Eden’s Vegan Food Hub is very much here, and it serves food for as low as Php 99.

Their silog-style menu is definitely a delight to see. Offering rice meals, you can avail of their vegan barbecue, vegan beef steak, vegan beef curry, and a lot more. This lineup is definitely scrumptious and nostalgic, and the best part of it is that you can get your meal for less than a hundred. This is vegan heaven.

3. Wellnessland Vegetarian Cafe
If there’s one thing that reviews about this restaurant have in common, it’s their commendation to its wide variety of options. Wellness Vegetarian Cafe probably already has it all, and it is a perfect place for vegans and vegetarians alike. It has standalone dishes, but you may also opt for rice meals here as well as noodle dishes. They serve Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino dishes, so you’ll surely pick something here that’ll satisfy your palate.
Have a taste of their chickpea salad toast, vegan adobo, tapa, tocino, and siomai (Filipino budget meal staples!), vegan burgers, sushi rolls, and crispy cauliflower. Their food will take you anywhere you want to go.

They have a different menu depending on the day they’re open, but each meal is a set that will both fill your stomach and blow your mind. An example of this is their Meal 1 and Meal 2 options, the first one being Syama Pasta with three kinds of mushrooms, roasted veggies, soy and nuts, and the second being a half cup rice with breaded tofu topped with a homemade Italian-inspired tomato and herbs sauce. Each day, they introduce a new set of meals, every single one of them surprising consumers with delight and satisfaction.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Opening Hours: 11 AM to 8:30 PM on Mondays to Saturdays, 8 AM to 5 PM on Sundays

5. Vegan Cebu City
Your meat-eating friends have a plethora of options if they want to eat a buffet – 99% of the buffets we have are for them! While other buffets still try to incorporate vegan dishes to be more inclusive, it’s still a milestone to have an entirely vegan buffet in the city. Vegan Cebu City is where you can feast on your favorite vegan food for as low as Php 349.

For their main course and appetizer, they have vegan sinugba, vegan lumpia, jackfruit salad, and mushroom sisig. Pair all of these with their monggo spinach and rice, and you’re truly set for the whole day (maybe even beyond that). To wrap up your meal, have a taste of their vegan chocolate moist cake and lemongrass juice! And the best part is they have a take-out option for the buffet, only for Php 389. It truly cannot get better than that.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Opening Hours: 10 AM to 8 PM on Mondays to Saturdays
Exact Location: 476-F Molave St., Kamputhaw, Cebu City, Philippines
6. The Green Canteen
We’ve truly come a long way in making sure that local vegans can access and afford their own diet. The Green Canteen offers whole meals for only Php 100!
They offer weekly meal plans on their menu, and this includes a vegan humba and sari-sari / vegan beef curry and bean sprouts combo. For their Tuesday plan, they offer vegan kebabs and pancit / sweet chili tofu and kangkong. The list could go on and on, but every meal set they offer is truly delicious and more importantly, not too hard on the pocket.
Don’t miss out on The Green Canteen!
OTHER INFORMATION:
Opening Hours: 10 AM to 9 PM on Mondays to Saturdays
Exact Location: 92 Arlington Pond St, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu
After being on the fringes for quite some time, it’s wonderful to see local businesses responding to the market of veganism. This makes it easier for people to exercise their choices and preferences, and it’s even better to see how the status quo is adapting to it, especially when the relevant causes veganism stands for are also being forwarded as an extension. Here’s to Cebuano vegans!

Miss Grand International founder Nawat Itsaragrisil cuts friendship with Beauty Queen MJ Lastimosa after the beauty queen “laughed” at and “joked” about the Thailand-based beauty contest.
Photo from mj_lastimosa
Itsaragrisil shared about his sentiments toward Mj through Tiktok Live.
“I met her many times. I offer her a lot of things and she always said, ‘oh, Miss Grand is number one— huge production. When I went to Manila, any time we keep calling, we had a good friendship and I help her a lot,”
the MGI founder said.
Itsaragrisill also shared how he met with MJ after the Miss Grand International Coronation ight held in Vietnam.
“I am very sincere to meet you, to talk to you but if you’re not sincere and you act different way— when you meet me; you sweet talk when you want something from me… And after that, what did you say? What did you question? What [were] you laughing at? What [were] you joking [about]?”
Itsaragrisil added.
Photo from nawat.tv
“The beauty is not from the body and face. The beauty of the people must come from the inside and brain. Now I know you’re not beauty at all. I think we are no more; relationship between MJ and our organization and myself. Don’t come to Miss Grand anymore. We don’t know each other from now [on]. I don’t want to meet the people like you. [It’s below standard,”
said Itsaragrisil
Photo from nawat.tv
Although Itsaragrisil did not explain what prompted him to speak up on Tiktok, the beauty pageant community speculated that it was because of MJ’s “The Secret Lounge with Mareng MJ” interview with Maki Gingoyon.
For context, MJ Lastimosa interviewed transgender beauty queen Maki Gingoyon during her “The Secret Lounge with Mareng MJ” YouTube video. In the interview, MJ asked Maki what’s the “worst pageant in the Philippines,” to which Maki answered, “Miss Grand.”
MJ asked a follow-up question whether Gingoyon’s answer pertained to the Philippines or international. The trans beauty queen answered both. Lastimosa and Gingoyon burst out laughing.

Virtual Playground Global Speaks up
MJ Lastimosa’s talent agency and producer of “The Secret Lounge” has issued an apology.
“The program ‘The Secret Lounge’ and Ms. Maki Gingoyon would like to issue an apology to Miss Grand Philippines Organization for the unsatisfactory opinion that came out during the aired episode last September on the MJ Lastimosa Channel,” Virtual Playground wrote.
