Island Hopping? Nope. I said, Beach Hopping.

The Northern part of Cebu is mostly known for its islands: Malapascua, Bantayan, and Camotes. However, there are more places to explore in the north without resorting to jumping from one Island to another.

BY BUS:  From the North Bus Terminal, ride a bus going to Tabogon – just read the signs for Tabogon via Borbon. Inform the driver to drop you off at Filpris Sea View.

BY CAR:  Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to Pertz Beach Cove which is the nearest landmark to Filprise Sea View.

2. Andang’s Beach House, Borbon

If you want a laid-back but fun vacation, Andang’s Beach House is perfect for you! Beyond accommodations and their beach, they also offer events to be held at their resort, they also offer food for as low as P60, they also have karaoke sessions, and they also have a floating cottage to enjoy the beach while eating your favorite vacation food. Their fully air-conditioned rooms start at P1,000.

HOW TO GET THERE: 

Exact Location: Cabalilitan, Borbon, Northern Cebu — approx. 2 hours away from Cebu City.

BY BUS: From the North Bus Terminal. Look for the one heading to Borbon, and ask the driver to drop you off at Cabalilitan. From there, you can ask the locals for directions.

BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Grande Beach Resort” in Borbon. From there, you can ask the locals for directions.

3. Tagasa Beach, Tabogon 

Tucked in the lands of Tabogon is Tagasa Beach with the peace and quiet of the municipality. Although unheard of by people in the Metro and tourists, this beach is quite known by the locals of Tabogon because of its relaxing breeze and calming waves. And one of the most shocking? It’s free! You don’t need to shell out money just to enjoy this beautiful beach.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact location: Tagasa, Tabogon, Northern Cebu.

BY BUS: From Cebu North Bus Terminal, you can hop on a bus bound to Tabogon and alight at Tabogon Terminal. Fare is around ₱70. From there, take a habal-habal on your way to Tagasa Beach.

BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Tagasa Beach” in Tabogon. Parking space is available.

4. Emmare Beach Resort, Tabogon

Emmare Beach Resort is known within their locale as a home by the beach. They offer overnight accommodations, a wide swimming pool, and of course the beach by their resort in an affordable price. If you just want to unwind for a day, worry not, because you can enjoy the resort without having to book an overnight accommodations and you only have to pay for the entrance fee.

Entrance fee: ₱100 per adult and ₱50 per kid (10 y/o and below)

Operating hours: 7AM to 6PM daily

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact location: Brgy. Maslog, Tabogon Cebu — approx. 3 hours away from the city. Only few meters away from Guiwanon Cold Spring.

BY BUS: From the North Bus Terminal, ride a bus going to Tabogon – just read the signs for Tabogon via Borbon. Inform the driver to drop you off at Tabogon Public Market. Bus fare is ₱88 per head (one-way). From there, ride a habal-habal (motorbike) going to Emmare Beach Resort, the fare is around ₱15-20 per head.

BY CAR:  Just navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Monares EMMARE Beach & Resort”. Parking space is available.

5. Badiang Gamay Beach, Tabogon

Resembling the beauty of Kinatarcan Islan with its crystal clear waters, green trees, and the refreshing breeze it gives. Although it is known among the locals of Tabogon, its beauty is yet to be discovered by the sugbuanons! And guess what? It’s free!

HOW TO GET THERE

Exact location: Tabogon, Bogo City, Cebu — approx. 3 hours away from the city.

BY BUS: From the North Bus Terminal, ride a bus going to Tabogon – just read the signs for Tabogon via Borbon — usually on the left side as you enter the terminal. Fare is ₱70 per person (one-way), while travel time is approx. 3 hours. Inform the driver to drop you off at Tabogon Proper.From there, ride a motorbike or habal-habal and tell the driver you’re going to Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort, or ask about getting you directly to “Badiang Gamay Beach”. It is popular among the locals. Fare is ₱20-30 per head.

BY CAR: If you’re bringing your own vehicle, just navigate via Waze or Google Maps and search for “Sea Turtle Lagoon” in Tabogon. You need to park your car at the resort and walk from there. Parking fee may be imposed.
