Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 111 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 33 new recoveries, and 5 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 55,139, while the active cases increased to 1,621 (from 1,548).

High but Not Far—and Free
From Bogo City, it only takes 11 minutes to reach Barangay Binabag where Kampitlok Peak is located. The road to the peak is a perfect trek for bikers and hikers. You can ask the locals around the area which road to take if unsure. Upon reaching the peak, the overlooking green landscape offers fresh air you can freely breathe in. Ah yes, there is no entrance fee to be paid so that’s a plus point for those who are tight on budget.

The Luscious Trees
On your way to the peak, you get to pass by a road lined with trees, and an ideal spot for your Instagram feed. The road is not perilous which means you can bring your bicycle for a peak adventure. The scenery showcases a green horizon with the sea just beyond the humble plain of Barangay Binabag. There may be trees on your way—an advantage to those who forgot to bring their SPF lotion—but the peak is bare enough to see the beauty around it.

The highlight of the property is definitely its one-of-a-kind swimming pool. The pool sits in the middle of the lawn surrounded by a rich variety of trees and flowers. This just makes for a unique swimming experience, it’s almost like bathing in a spring. In the corner there’s an inviting tub for more of a shallow dip, and guests can also lounge and sunbathe in the chairs beside the pool. Nothing beats a cocktail and a snack enjoyed poolside!

The lawn around the house is a carpet of green trimmed grass sprinkled with exotic flowers and simply beautiful trees. No space is left bare as shrubs and trees sprout in every corner of the garden – even right beside some parts of the house! All the blooming plant life can easily make you forget that you are in the city.

Exact location: Toledo-San Remigio Road, Barangay Owak, Cebu, 6000 Asturias, Philippines — approx. 2 hours away from the city.
BY V-HIRE: Go to V-hire terminal in SM Cebu City and take the van en route to Asturias. As the driver to drop you at the tricycle terminal in Asturias. Once you get off, hire a tricycle driver and ask them to take you to Coco Seaview Beach House.
BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Coco Seaview Beach House” in Asturias. Free parking space is available.
