Five Nights at Freddy’s’ movie set for 2023 release

“The bite of ‘87?!”

The long-awaited horror/thriller movie based on the video game ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ which took the world by storm back in 2014, is now in production and expected to premiere in cinemas this 2023!

Blumhouse, the American film and television studio behind the motion picture, teased a quick look into the movie’s progress just after 2 months of production.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ is a game made by developer Scott Cawthon, taking place in a fictional world where you, the player, acts as a night shift security guard at a pizza parlor named ‘Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza’.

As the hours go by, your job is to regularly monitor the restaurant using a number of CCTV surveillance cameras and survive the attack of the haunted animatronics which come alive at night to kill anyone they see, all with a scarce source of electricity.

There were once a number of production concerns surrounding who would produce and direct the film adaptation.

Blumhouse decided to hide their decision to take up the project to the public up until 2022.

In the last 20 years, Blumhouse has produced some of the most productive horror films, including director James Wan’s “Insidious”(2010) and actor/filmmaker Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” (2017).

Knowing their reputation as a studio with numerous beloved films, it is well within our rights to expect the exploration of the game’s horrifying elements prior to its release on the big screen.

In charge of directing the movie is director Emma Tammi. Tammi has a vast experience in the field of horror, with previous works such as fantasy-horror film “Blood Moon” (2021) and western horror film “The Wind’ (2018) being credited in her name.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ will be produced by none other than franchise creator Scott Cawthon, as well as Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum, and executive producer Russel Binder. For the screenplay, Tammi Cawthon and Seth Cudeback will be spearheading the writing.

Fans across the world are eager and anxiously anticipating its release, as this will be the first- ever adaptation of the game as of now.

A majority of people comprising Gen Z grew up loving the game, with ‘fandoms’ and communities flourishing as time went by.

Sharing theories, experiences, and watching gameplay has strengthened its popularity over the years so much that it now has a film based on it currently in the works.

The anticipation reached a high on June 22nd when a viral video clip from Win’s exclusive interview event for Lazada x Shiseido hinted at his upcoming collaboration with a non-Thai celebrity.

Speculation ran wild, with many believing that the mystery actress was none other than Janella.

The rumors gained more credibility when a now-deleted Instagram story surfaced, featuring Janella Salvador, Win Metawin, and Richard Juan.

The photo showcased the three engaged in what appeared to be a traditional ceremony for good luck, often performed before filming begins to seek blessings and enhance the project’s chances of success.

In the midst of this buzz, it has been revealed that award-winning director Sigrid Andrea Bernardo will helm the film titled “Parallel Skies.”

With her impressive track record, expectations for the project’s storytelling and execution are high.

The movie is said to be shot in Hong Kong, confirmed by Instagram stories shared by Richard Juan during his journey to the location and videos of Win Metawin at the Hong Kong airport.

The filming is expected to span a month, adhering to Hong Kong’s strict regulations that limit filming to 12 hours per day, 4-5 days a week.

As fans eagerly awaited updates on the project, they noticed a significant change in Janella Salvador’s appearance.

The actress bid farewell to her trademark fiery red hair, dyeing her short locks black, presumably for her character in the film.

With the collaboration of Janella Salvador, Win Metawin, and director Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, this upcoming film has generated immense anticipation among fans.

A basic survival guide to attending a concert in the Philippine Arena

Concert season is here!

While that can be fun, attending a concert at the Philippine Arena comes with its own set of challenges.

Photo from jeffrey reyes

As the popularity of this massive venue grows, it’s important for concert-goers to be prepared and aware of what to expect.

From transportation to accommodation, food, and communication, here are some key factors to consider when planning your trip to the Philippine Arena.

Transportation

Plan your mode of transportation well in advance. Arrange for shuttle or bus services provided by the official organizer or look for fan-initiated initiatives. If you’re driving, consider carpooling with fellow fans to share expenses, you can look for other concert goers to split the fare with on Twitter. Research the different routes available and stay updated on road closures and diversions, because they can vary.

Hotel Stay and Accommodation

Photo from Unsplash

Since the Philippine Arena is located outside Metro Manila, nearby accommodations are limited. Check Facebook groups, AirBnB, and Agoda listings for short-term stays. Book early to secure a place within a reasonable distance from the venue. Avoid the hassle of commuting long hours after the concert and prioritize rest and recovery.

Unlike concert venues in Metro Manila, the Philippine Arena lacks nearby malls or restaurants. It’s best to bring your own food and drinks to avoid long queues and meet your specific preferences. Plan your meals in advance, considering lunch, snacks, and dinner. Bringing your own meals ensures you won’t go hungry during the event.

Connections and Cell Service

Photo from Unsplash

Phone signals can be unreliable at the venue, so don’t solely rely on social media apps for communication. Save your friends’ phone numbers and ensure you have enough mobile load to call or text them if needed. Agree on a meet-up place within the venue in case you have difficulty reaching each other.

Appropriate and Concert-Ready Behavior

During the concert, remember to behave appropriately and follow the rules set by the venue and organizers. Charge your devices beforehand and bring power banks to ensure your gadgets stay powered throughout the event. Stay hydrated, take breaks if needed, and have a memorable time enjoying the music and performances.

Awra Briguela’s ‘foul’ detainment, brawl explained

Awra Briguela has found herself in legal trouble after being involved in a brawl at a bar in Poblacion, Makati.

Photo from Awra Briguela on Instagram

The incident, which took place on Thursday morning, June 29, has sparked outrage among her friends and netizens, who are questioning the fairness of her arrest.

Video footage of Briguela being manhandled by authorities and bouncers during her arrest has gone viral, adding fuel to the growing controversy.

According to reports from the Southern Police District (SPD), the fight began when Briguela and her friends allegedly demanded that a certain Mark Christian Ravana remove his shirt. After Ravana declined, Briguela reportedly tore his shirt, leading to an argument between the two parties. Ravana and bouncer Angelo Nino Gulmatico then called the Poblacion Police Substation for assistance.

Upon their arrival, the police claim that Briguela resisted arrest and used foul language towards the officers. Awra Briguela has been charged with physical injuries, alarm and scandal, direct assault, and disobedience to a person in authority. As a result, she is currently under police custody until the inquest proceedings take place.

Briguela’s friend Zayla Nakajima took to social media to defend the actress, claiming that Briguela was attempting to protect her from sexual harassment by Ravana. Nakajima alleged that Ravana initiated the fight and physically assaulted Briguela.

Briguela’s arrest has sparked a wave of support from her friends and netizens. Hashtags such as #IStandWithAwra and #JusticeForAwra has gained significant traction on social media.

The incident has ignited a broader conversation about fairness, accountability, and the treatment of individuals involved in altercations. Many argue that both sides of the story should be thoroughly investigated and that all parties responsible for the brawl should face legal consequences accordingly.

Supporters of Awra Briguela are demanding a fair investigation and urging authorities to consider the alleged sexual harassment she endured before the confrontation. The detention of Awra Briguela following a bar fight in Makati has stirred up public outcry, with friends and netizens rallying behind the actress and expressing their frustration over the perceived injustice in the case.

As the controversy unfolds, the demand for a thorough investigation and fair treatment for all parties involved continues to grow, emphasizing the importance of accountability and justice in such incidents.
