The Municipality of San Remigio is home to the first Replica of the Capelinha de Fatima in Asia. The Replica of the Capelinha de Fatima in Cebu is the latest heritage and religious tourism destination in the Philippines.
Capelinha de Fatima is said to be the only four of its kind in the world, the first in Asia, and the only one in the Philippines. The other three replicas are found in The United States, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. Furthermore, the Capelinha de Fatima is the replica of the chapel where the Blessed Virgin Mary showed Herself to three children, the Cova da Iria in Fatima, Portugal way back in 1917.
This is a wonderful privilege given to the Archdiocese on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines. This empowers us, as Christians to own our being a “Pueblo Amante de Maria” and our being Gifted to Give.

The Capelinha de Fatima Cebu aspires to be the “hub and center of the promotion of the devotion to Our Lady of Fatima.” Moreover, it aims to promote the authentic Message of Fatima, specifically the Lady’s Immaculate Heart revealed by Mary to Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta.
The Capelinha De Fatima Cebu officially broke ground on February 20, 2020, and construction began on October 13, 2020. The blessing and consecration of the Capelinha De Fatima Shrine was held on April 4, 2022, at the Replica de Capelinha site in Brgy. Lambusan, Municipality of San Remigio, northern Cebu.
