On Thursday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of January 6, 2022.
The whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cebu Province — recorded 114 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 10 new recoveries, and no new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 104,536, while the active cases jumped to 481 (from 368).

– Total deaths: 1,526 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 206
Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 13,692 (+11 new)
– Total recoveries: 13,200 (+9 new)
– Total deaths: 472 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 20
Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 12,175 (+25 new)
– Total recoveries: 11,700 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 443 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 32
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 37,276 (+30 new)
– Total recoveries: 34,479 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 2,574 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 223
