On Wednesday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of January 5, 2022.
The whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cebu Province — recorded 67 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 3 new recoveries, and 1 new death. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 104,422, while the active cases jumped to 368 (from 305).
Cebu City
– Total confirmed: 41,345 (+37 new)
– Total recoveries: 39,660 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 1,526 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 159
Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 13,681 (+7 new)
– Total recoveries: 13,200 (+10 new)
– Total deaths: 472 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 9
Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 12,150 (+4 new)
– Total recoveries: 11,700 (+3 new)
– Total deaths: 443 (+1 new)
– Active cases: 7
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 37,246 (+19 new)
– Total recoveries: 34,479 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 2,574 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 193
