Situated just beyond Cebu Highlands Trail in Upper Beceril, Dayhan Waterfall necessitates an adventure even before you get to the destination. You may ride a habal-habal to get to Dayhag, and the view that rides with you is truly something so rewarding. The entrance is marked by a simple welcoming sign, and because the place isn’t that well-known, you’ll be met with a very small crowd of people and a clean environment.
If you want to arrive at the waterfalls yourself as an adrenaline junkie, this is not to worry about with its carefully planned pathways. You may also get a local guide to help you figure out the safest routes within the tiers of the waterfalls.
The Development Story of Dayhag Falls
Because of Boljoon’s Municipal Tourism and Heritage Office and the Sangguniang Kabataan 2012’s joint passion for boosting the region’s tourism, they have made a cultural mapping initiative wherein they are to invest in the development of the resources they have. The local government decided to do so to give attention to each barangay’s cultural and historical highlights. Upper Beceril’s contribution to this is, of course, Dayhag Waterfalls.

With the waterfall boasting multiple tiers, you surely won’t run out of new wonders to explore and marvel at. As you progress to further tiers, the journey, height, and depth get more challenging. With the number of tiers in Dayhag Waterfalls, you’ll surely find the one that’s tailor-fit to your skills and liking.
Conveniently, along the area, you can find bamboo-and-nipa cottages to rest in. However, there are rules against bringing food and drinks to the tiers to avoid pollution.
Dayhag Waterfalls may not have the same kind of development and infrastructure as others, but to some, this can be a haven; a breath of fresh air that’s unlike the usual destinations marketed widely. HOW TO GET THERE?
Exact location: Sitio Ylaya Brgy. Upper Beceril, Boljoon, Cebu
BY BUS: Go to South Bus Terminal and board a bus en route to Boljoon. Ask to be dropped off at Boljoon Poblacion. From there, you can ride a habal-habal to Upper Beceril.
BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Dayhag Falls, Boljoon”
