Did You Know: This Disney Celebrity Was Born Via In Vitro Fertilization?

A child of the 21st century and one of the rising stars in Hollywood!

If you’ve watched Disney’s Z-O-M-B-I-E-S movies and franchise, you should be familiar with the tall, princely charm of Milo Manheim.

Born on March 6, 2001, Milo Jacob Manheim, aka “Milo Manheim,” stole our hearts as Zed in Disney’s Z-O-M-B-I-E-S and as Joseph in “The Journey to Bethlehem.” With a tall, princely charm and acting chops that shine bright, Milo is the son of the fabulous actress, Camryn Manheim, and model, Jeffrey Brezovar. But here’s a fun fact: Milo’s journey into this world wasn’t your typical story–it involved a little thing called In Vitro Fertilization or IVF.

What Is In Vitro Fertilization?

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a type of fertility treatment and is currently considered as one of the most effective processes to help in conceiving a child. As compared to the natural conception wherein a sperm and an egg will be joining inside a woman’s body, IVF involves the process of combining both in a petri or laboratory dish.

The price of IVF in the Philippines can go up to ₱250,000.00 and higher, depending on the clinic. And just like conceiving naturally, you can also choose who you prefer to have as a sperm donor, which is what happened to Milo Manheim; his mother, Camryn, had an agreement with his biological father, Jeffrey, for the sperm donation, since he was her best friend.

IVF has a success rate of up to 40% for women aged below 35 years old, but beyond that, the percentage lowers to 26% and up to 8% for aged 40 and up. Some of the famous Filipino celebrities who underwent IVF include Dr. Vicki Belo, Korina Sanchez, and Alice Dixson. While, in Hollywood, we have the Kardashians, Celine Dion, and Michelle Obama.

Are IVF Babies Normal?

Yes. Babies born through IVF grow and have both the physical and mental capacities similar to those conceived naturally. I mean, look at Milo Manheim, for example. He is now a big star in Disney and has since been in several films including Prom Pact, School Spirits, and even starred in Thanksgiving alongside Patrick Dempsey.

In summary, Milo Manheim’s journey into this world through IVF showcases the wonders of modern science and the possibilities it opens up for families. IVF is not just a medical procedure; it’s a path to hope and fulfillment for aspiring parents. Despite the initial challenges, IVF babies like Milo grow up to lead normal, healthy lives and make significant contributions to society.
