The Philippine Passport Surges High in World Rankings

Travel buffs rejoice! The Philippine passport has just shot five ranks up the world leaderboards, moving up to the 73rd rank. This signifies an increase in the country’s drive to foster international relations and creates blazing opportunities for businesses to reach out and make a name in the global market.

On another note, as diplomatic relations become stronger and the borders between countries diminish,  those who have always dreamed of traveling the world can now rest easy knowing our humble passport now has 67 visa-free travel locations opened up to it. This is a huge boon to our economy as more opportunities have just been made available, free of the hassle that usually comes with foreign transactions.

Henley World Passport Index

The Henley World Passport Index is THE world ranking for passports. It compares the visa-free access availability of 199 different passports to 227 travel destinations and bases its scores on data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Currently, these are the top countries in the 2024 Henley World Passport Index:

  • France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore – 194 countries visa-free
  • Finland, South Korea, Sweden – 193 countries visa-free
  • Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands – 192 countries visa-free
  • Belgium, Luxemburg, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom – 191 countries visa-free
  • Greece, Malta – 190 countries visa-free
  • Australia, Czechia, New Zealand, Poland – 189 countries visa-free
  • Canada, Hungary, United States of America – 188 countries visa-free
  • Estonia, Lithuania – 187 countries visa-free
  • Slovakia, Slovenia – 186 countries visa-free
  • Iceland – 185 countries visa-free

Owing to the easier access afforded by the increase in visa-free countries, entrepreneurs are now able to bolster their businesses’ international presence leading to a rise in cross-cultural and economic growth.
