Nat’l Library Week: Discover the Philippines’ Biggest Library

The National Library of the Philippines is not the biggest library in the country; rather, it’s the Josef Baumgartner Learning Resource Center at the University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus.

Inaugurated last 2012, the University of San Carlos Talamban Campus, Josef Baumgartner Learning Resource Center has four floors with split-level and basement floors.

Dedicated to the University Chief Librarian, Fr. Josef Baumgartner, SVD, the establishment costs more than Php 300M to build. It is environment-friendly and PWD-accessible.

With a size of 16,000 square meters, the library does provide enough space and avenue for research, learning, and as an extension of the university itself in terms of being an educational function hall. As a one-stop knowledge center, students, faculty, and bibliophiles can access state-of-the art library facilities where new and old books or media can be found.
