The Cebu City Goverment Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries will be hosting their annual Asong Pinoy Day this coming June 30, 2024 at Cebu IT Park.
The event is intended to showcase the beauty and skills of our beloved Aspins which is in stark contrast to the usual pageantry held for dogs with foreign breeds. There will be several activities that Aspin owners and their pups can participate in, such as the following:
Free Vet Services
There will be anti-rabies vaccination, pet microchipping, vitamin supplementation, and consultation on the day of the event. This means that you’ll get a chance to avail the DVMF services without having to go to their office or headquarters. Just make sure that you bring all necessary documents or vet certificates of your pup to aid in the consultation process.
Best Looking & Best Dressed Asong Pinoy
This is the time to flaunt your pup’s beauty and playfulness. So, dress and glam them up! You can make your doggos a superhero, villain, or maybe a classic superstar!
Tula Para Kay Doggy
Pet owners are also creatives; so, share your poetic talents on the “Tula Para Kay Doggy” poetry contest. You just need about 20 to 30 lines, and designed in a poster style to showcase your love for your dog.
My Asong Pinoy Adoption Story
Get ready to share your heartwarming and inspiring stories of how you and your pup’s fate collided together in the “My Asong Pinoy Adoption Story.” In this competition, you’ll not only spread the word about the love that you have for your dog, but also encourage folks to #AdoptDontShop!
Asong Pinoy Fun Run
Run wild and free with your doggos by your side during the “Asong Pinoy Fun Run!” It will be a 1K and 2K marathon. So, get those hearts and lungs pumping and start sprinting with your doggos before the day of the competition.
The Most Awaited: Asong Pinoy Next Top Model
Is your doggy a model in the making? Well, then register for the “Asong Pinoy Next Top Model” now! It is a competition to show-off your photogenic and fun little doggos. Here are the requirements for you to participate:
- Owner and dog must be a resident of Cebu City. Proof needed.
- Dogs must be healthy, fixed (kapon or ligated) and updated with complete anti-rabies vaccinations. Proof needed.
- Owners must submit high-resolution photos of their aspin dogs in three different angles.
- Deadline of submission will be on June 24, 2024.
