1. Tabique by the Sea

First we have Tabique by the Sea – a charming beachfront bed and breakfast in Barangay Santa Lucia, Asturias. 

With private air-conditioned beach cottages, this secluded haven offers a perfect getaway where visitors can bask in the sun and enjoy the amenities while immersing themselves in nature. 

For a unique stay, Tabique by the Sea features Two Tepee Houses, providing A-frame accommodations for up to three people each. \

If you’re traveling with a larger group, the Bamboo House, a spacious loft-style building with a balcony overlooking the shoreline, can accommodate up to 10 people. 

With its stunning location on a limestone outcrop, this beach home offers breathtaking views of Bagacawa Hill and the surrounding landscapes.

Exact location: Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Asturias, Cebu

BY PUV: Take an air-conditioned Tuburan-bound van (also known as a v-hire) from Cebu City by using the Cebu Transcentral Highway from the PUV terminals at either IT Park (across Ayala Malls Central Bloc) or Cebu Business Park (Ayala Center Cebu). Tell the driver to drop you off at “Sangi Santa Lucia,” the intersection for the Asturian village of Barangay Santa Lucia (₱ 180, 2 hours).

Note that guests are transported to IT Park at no cost if vans are not fully booked at Ayala Center. Daily trips depart from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm. The trip to Tabique by the Sea takes a habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) or tricycle five minutes from the intersection.

2. Haruhay View

Haruhay View presents an enchanting outdoor dining experience complemented by breathtaking vistas of the vast Tañon Strait.

Exact location: Barangay Sta. Lucia Rd, Asturias, Cebu – 2 to 2.5 hours from Cebu City.

BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Haruhay View” in Asturias. Parking space is available.

3. Lake Bar & Grill

Nestled in Barangay Bago, Asturias, Buswang Lake spans across eight hectares, serving as a habitat for carps, tilapias, and catfishes.

Amidst its waters lies a small strip of island, which now hosts the newly established hangout spot and restaurant in Asturias called Island in the Lake Bar & Grill. 

With its serene and undisturbed waters, the lake provides an ideal setting for fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking, all free of charge.

Simply bring your own equipment, and you’re ready to embark on these exciting activities. 

Additionally, camping is permitted here at no cost, so be sure to bring along your tent for a memorable overnight stay.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact location: Buswang Lake, Barangay Bago, Asturias, Northwestern Cebu – approx. 2 hours away from the city.

BY V-HIRE: You can get on a van for hire headed for Asturias at the van terminal in Ayala Center Cebu. The van will pass through the transcentral highway, which makes the journey short. Travel time is around one hour or so depending on the traffic. From the town proper, you can ride a habal-habal that will take you to Buswang Lake Restobar.

4. Palicte Beach Resort

Palicte Beach Resort offers a mere P20 entrance fee – but this splendid destination provides a comprehensive range of amenities and activities to ensure a fantastic experience for you. 

The beachfront, adorned with picturesque black sand, offers the perfect setting for engaging in thrilling sandy activities such as beach volleyball and more.

BY CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Palicte Beach Resort” in Asturias. Parking space is available.

5. St. Anthony’s Beach Resort

Exact location: Antonio Y De Pio National Hwy, Asturias, Northwestern Cebu — approx. 2 hours away from Cebu City.

BY VAN: Take a V-Hire from the Ayala Terminal and let the driver know you are heading to St. Anthony’s Beach Resort at the highway in barangay Tubiganmanok. It is best to have Google Maps assist you while you are heading to the location in the van. The resort is immediately by the highway so dropping off is easy.

6. Consuelo’s Beach

Consuelo’s Beach and Cocktail Bar, nestled in Poblacion, Asturias, is the ultimate haven for those seeking rest from a demanding week. 

Strategically positioned hammocks and tables provide the perfect vantage point for you to unwind and enjoy precious moments with your friends, while immersing yourself in the picturesque surroundings.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact location: Burgos St., Poblacion, Asturias, Cebu

BY VHIRE (via Transcentral Highway): Take a V-hire from the Ayala terminal and let the driver know you’re dropping off at Asturias Central Elementary School. From there, ride a habal-habal (motorbike) going to Consuelo’s Beach and Cocktail Bar.

7. Agtugop Cold Spring

For the last one, we have something simple but straight to the point. 

Located in Asturias, Agtugop Cold Spring is unquestionably one of the serene and less crowded cold springs in the province! 

Immerse yourself in the refreshing pool’s chilly waters, where the invigorating freshwater springs flow in close proximity to the sea, all while relishing the tranquil ambiance of the surroundings.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact location: Brgy. Agtugop, Asturias, Northwestern Cebu — approx. 2.5 hours away from the city.

There are two (2) routes to get there:

1. RECOMMENDED: Transcentral Highway (via Busay/Balamban)

– Take a V-hire from the Ayala terminal going to Tuburan. Ask the driver to drop you off at Brgy. Bago Bridge, there is a newly constructed bridge in the area. Fare is ₱120 /head (one-way). From there, ride a motorcycle to Brgy. Agtugop, Asturias – fare is ₱40 /head. Then ask the locals for the way to the cold spring.

– If you are renting a private van or using your own vehicle, take this route. You can then navigate using Waze or Google Maps, just search for “Agutop Asturias”.

2. Via Toledo

– You can ride a bus from the South Bus Terminal going to Toledo/Tuburan. Fare is around ₱100/head. Travel time is approximately 3-4 hours from the terminal. This is only ideal if you come from Minglanilla/Naga/Toledo. Ask the driver to drop you off at Brgy. Bago Bridge, there is a newly constructed bridge in the area. Fare is ₱120 /head (one-way). From there, ride a motorcycle to Brgy. Agtugop, Asturias – fare is ₱40 /head. Then ask the locals for the way going to the cold spring.
