Cebu logs 53 new cases on February 25

On Friday evening, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of February 25, 2022.

The whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cebu Province — recorded 53 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 125 new recoveries, and 3 new deaths. Cebu’s total active cases declined to 1,925 (from 1,997).

Cebu City
– Total confirmed: 53,394 (+14 new)
– Total recoveries: 50,919 (+77 new)
– Total deaths: 1,661 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 814

Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 16,962 (+8 new)
– Total recoveries: 16,347 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 502 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 113

Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 15,329 (+5 new)
– Total recoveries: 14,697 (+8 new)
– Total deaths: 486 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 146

Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 45,856 (+26 new)
– Total recoveries: 42,251 (+40 new)
– Total deaths: 2,753 (+3 new)
– Active cases: 852

SUMMARY OF COVID-19 CASES IN CEBU:

• Total Active Cases in Cebu: 1,925 (from 1,997)
• Total Confirmed Cases in Cebu: 131,541 (+53 new)
• Total Recoveries in Cebu: 124,214 (+125 new)
• Total Deaths in Cebu: 5,402 (+3 new)

A total of 1,214 laboratory results were released.

NOTES from DOH-7:

• *As per DOH-7, the additional deaths in the report are not due to the overnight spike in deaths but due to more accurate data collection and validating efforts. Not all of those deaths occurred today but occurred more than a week ago.
